  1. I have the same problem with my VF-25G so I removed the engine nacelles and stored them behind the Valkyrie. I think the design would have benefited from a rotation to move them out of the way. Instead the Tornado Messiah is just to wide for his own good.
  2. Lets hope they open up again: https://www.nippon-yasan.com/gundam/10847-metal-build-gundam-astray-gold-frame-amatsu-mina-tenkuu-no-sengen-.html
  3. Damn it. I missed it. &"!§$&"§$&"§$"§%&"
  4. I looked at the Apollyon pictures the past weekend and my problem with the toy is the silver paint. The hue is too bright swallowing all the details of the mold. To me it looks pretty cheap. I think if they would go with to different shades of silver and darker colors overall it would look much nicer. To me it looks like on of the semi-realistic water guns I had as a child that I spray painted with a color that looks exactly like the one shown in the prototype images. That looked also very cheap and not really realistic. I will wait for reviews and final pictures on this one to decide if it is worth a purchase. The face sculpt looks pretty good (the most important part to me) but the paint just make it look terrible. Maybe paint the head crest (eyebrow) in a darker color or do a wash or something.
  5. I like the lavender gun-pod. Why does Ozma come with a blck one?
  6. I got the blue toon version of Soar. I would like to add that had I known at the release of Scoria that FansToys is planning to do a version of their Dinobots painted in silver instead of the dull gray plastic I would rather had ordered them even if they are $30 more. Oh well, after two releases in I will continue to buy the gray version. Maybe they won't do a Grimlock so this releases fit better with my MP-08. [edit: ] Now that I look at the toy as it stands on my desk I notice all the little paint apps on the gray plastic to make these big areas of color visually more interesting. SOMETHING THAT IS SADLY MISSING ON MP-22!!!
  7. Funny story. I used the VF-0D as a new wallpaper for work. One of the two monitors is calibrated differently so there the VF-0D looks bright blue like the pictures form Arcadia. On the other monitor it looks like it (supposedly) has too look. Much more washed out colors.
  8. So I received FansToys Soar yesterday and had some time to check it out. I took all parts out of the box because I feared that the styrofoam of the package would melt itself into the painted parts of the extra wings. Out of the box my toy needed a bit of tweaking. Fist I sanded down the pegs of the golden detailing on the thighs so they could fit into place a bit better without the fear of braking the pieces. After the fist transformation I noticed that none of the joints where too tight out of the box. Sadly I noticed that the red detailing on the left side of the chest has a gate mark left that was scratching the chromed beak. It is only a small blemish but and after I smoothed out the piece it doesn't touch the beak any longer. However if you own this figure I would advise some extra care while handling the piece. Other than that the toy is great. Definitely a step up from their Scoria. At first I wasn't fond of the extra face but now I put him into a Buddy Jesus pose for which it is perfect. I question the design decision to put die cast into the shoulder pieces and not in the feet but whatever. I love that you can store all his weapons on the toy an feature Scoria was sadly missing. As for the transformation it is pretty simple and I would've liked to add an extra transformation step for the arms besides collapsing on itself and pegging into the side of the torso. Maybe some fold out panels to hide the gab in the abdomen but that's it. Soar is also pretty fun to handle where Scoria was bit too big and too heavy to handle easily. I don't know why people like big toys because for me after a certain size they either get to heavy for the joints (Scoria) of feel very hollow and cheap (Maketoys Utopia). Also I my hands are not that small but I have issues handling bigger toys because they just don't feel right. Macross 1/60 Valkyries are on the upper end of being acceptable. So GigaPowers Dinobots are not for me (also I have problems fitting Scoria into my display cabinet ). I'm looking to their Sever and not-Sludge and not-Grimlock. I wonder how the transformation for Sludge will work because the lazy way would be to mirror Scorias transformation. I also curious what their Grimlock looks like and if he is very similar to MP-08. However I'm happy if he is in scale with the other Dibots and doesn't have the light up and tail wiggle gimmick and has two articulated hands. A new transformations for the shoulder section would also be pretty great as well as a bulkier lower torso and hip area.
  9. I wonder if the decals get scratched a low when you put the arms in position for Fighter-Mode.
  10. Does anyone know what happened to the Omnigonix Spinout toy? I thought it was scheduled for release early 2015 but I haven't seen anything yet (preorders, painted prototype, testshot review, etc.).
  11. Does it say anything about the release date and when the preorder starts? I would also like to know how likely it is that Bandai has plans for releasing a Metal Build Red Frame and Blue Frame. Sorry for the noobish questions but I would like to dip my toe into the FixFiguration/Metal Build line I don't have Gundams from the Seed Astray story so this would be a good chance to get a small line of toys. I love the suit design of the Blue and Red Frame.
  12. Yeah bring Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge!
  13. I was thinking that you could create a gallery of possible configurations (something you have there already). Every image in the gallery has a link to the configuration shown in this image. So if the potential customer sees something he likes he can order this directly.
  14. ....and if the Wing Zero sells well. Even if it sells well the MG line never released all the suits but there are many variants of the Gundam Wing.
  15. Have you watched Veefs instruction video for the shoulder replacement parts? Other than that you could invest into a pin removing tool but I have no idea how this is called in English.
  16. I don't know if Bandai can do any repaints since this VF-19 is so specifically from the second Frontier movie. I assume that the licenses for other Excaliburs are locked by Arcadia. However I'm not sure about the video games since Arcadia never released a toy from them like Yamato did with the Koenig Monster and the VF-4G.
  17. The real draw of the RG Wing Zero is to get Bandai to release the other suits from EW in the RG line so that we have a consistent line with the same engineering, details, etc.
  18. It is pretty much the same with my SNES. As a child I put waterslide temporary tattoos all over it. As I tried to clean it as an adult I almost rubbed off the Super Nintendo label.
  19. So I bought a few old SNES cartridges that need some cleaning. I assume isopropyl alcohol is the way to go for cleaning the plastic case?
  20. I can understand the frustration. However Bandai is playing this game since the first release of the VF-25G. That was two and a half year ago. So clearly this seems to work for bandai because since than several annual sales reports had to be discussed on the management boards. So Bandai seems happy and this has to be more profitable than web shop exclusives otherwise we would have seen a different release method. In addition wester fans don't seem to pay a role in Bandais scheme. Where out of luck. All we can do is moan and release steam on message boards (thats why they exist! ) and pay the mark-up or get it through other distribution channels. But it got a bit better over the last years. The preorders for the last releases where less frustrating because the retailers opened up the sales windows several times until release. *waits patiently for the next wave of marked up NY offers*
  21. Great, they didn't even bother to send out notifications. I was sitting in front of the my computer and missed it. Bummer! -.-
  22. So I was in bed anybody care to summarize this preorder? From what I gathered in this thread it was the usual preorder madness except for HLJ and CDJapan where the preorders stayed reasonably long open (like a few minutes)? I will keep eying this thread and NY if they open up in the next few weeks.
  23. I think they have to do the tail lights etc. on the car Transformers because they are licensed cars and the license holder demand a certain amount of detail on the cars so that they are recognizable. And even then Takara is sloppy with details. For example the painted on tail lights on the pre Bumble cars. On MP-10 and MP-22 the details are very sparse because there are no license holders. What gets me is that these toys are for nerds and nerds love consistency so why have toys in the Masterpiece line that have different aesthetics? This is also true with the stat card for Ultra Magnus which looks totally different from all other Takara Masterpiece Transformers. I don't get it. I love consistency above all else and I thought MP Bumble was a sign what is next from the Masterpiece line. Magnus seems like a step back. To anime52k8 I have a clear image in my mind what Ultra Magnus looks like. It is a less chubby version of MP-22 with shorter but wider pillars on his shoulders.
  24. So I transformed Diesel for the very first time. Thanks to all the video suggestions it was a good transformation. The figure is great, I love the head sculpt. The only weird thing is that he seems to be unable to stand straight. Due to the fact how the ratchets in the hips align the toy stands always at a strange angle while standing still. I have to play with him a little bit more to make a final judgment. Two more questions came up while handling Diesel. First, are the ratchets in the knees prone to breakage? The right one on mine is ok, but the left one is terribly tight. Second is there something wrong with the combined gun? It seems to have a handle for M3 to hold but I haven't found anything in the instructions or in the video reviews I watched. It seems you can just fold down the handle 180 degrees if the one shotgun is slid all the way into the frame. Other than that I really love the small race cars. They really have all the stuff I like in a collector oriented toy line. I might pick up FansProjects Headmaster homages but I guess I'm a little late for that. (it was also a terrible month with MP-22, MP-11SW and Fanstoys Soar )
