Damn my clumsy fingers. I broke an armor piece on my MG Sazabi. Does anyone know if there is a way to glue polystyrene together? The manual states PS on the runner so I assume that is the material they used.

I broke the thumb on one of my Sazabi manipulators today. -.- Oh well, time to break out the ABS cement... bummer. Keep the pics coming. Love those painted pilot figures. I envy the people who have the skill to pull it off.

Those are Japan exclusive recolors of the Transformers Power Core Combiners from 2012 if I remember correctly. Their price was very high (around $80) at least in the states due a much stronger Yen. Basically they are a deluxe class core robot that has three modes (alt-, robot- and torso-mode). The limbs are drones that auto-transform into "limbs" when attached to the combiner port. They have almost no articulation. The core bots are usually pretty weak imho and the limbs look wrong most of the time. There where also two packs from with a robot that could be used as a torso and some kind of Targetmaster (???). Check out TFWs resource page: http://www.tfw2005.com/resources/transformers-power-core-combiners-406/ TFC toys also made a set of limbs that could turn into robots: Maketoys also made a set of limbs that could turn into a missile tank: They also made a stand alone toy that uses the same style of connectors so it compatible with the official Power Core Combiner toys:- 17164 replies

I also got my Maketoys Nemesis Tanker and I have to say it is mighty nice. It helps that it is based on the RtS (???) G2 Laser Prime mold that I really like (I have the TFCC Scourge). A few observations: I would rather have the Hypernovae wing backpack than the missile trailer but I can understand that a Scourge homage needs his tanker. Sadly the chest plate and the chains for the cape can't store on the trailer. There would be a place for the chest plate on the backside of the trailer which you can use to slide the pieces with the handle of the chest into. What puzzles me is that on the back there is a peg molded in where you can store the backpack for armored mode but the peg is off-center. That looks dumb and blocks the slots for the chest piece. That is just lazy design. The chains for the cape could be stored on the trailer if the peg-holes on the side panels would have the same diameter but they are 1 mm too small. What a bummer. The matrix-shaped cloak clasp is a nice touch. I don't see a spot where you could store the cape but that is a piece crappy fabric. It is just awful. It encompasses everything I hate about mixed media toys. It is see-through, does not buckle nicely, it is too stiff and it feels cheap overall. I have to get a new one. Does anyone know where I can get a sewing machine that Hot Toys uses? I really need to find a person that tailors me a proper cloak. Black and red velvet with turquoise accents because the actual idea behind the cape where you can open the clasp and swing back shoulder pad to reveal the main body is a freaking cool idea. PS: I realize that sounds pretty negatively but it is a really good toy. It is my first Maketoys release. On the other hand most of the positive aspects come from the base mold which is a HasTak design. However I would love to have more of their releases. Namely Green Giant and Quantron.- 9276 replies

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

But they are so beautifully done ankle joints. Much better than on the Arcadia Valkyries. -
They look like great toys. Definitely something I'd buy for my children if I would live in South Korea. I'd love to see Hasbro do something like this for their more kid-friendly line instead of the x-step changers. Solid big parts, ratchets and pegs everywhere and no fiddly ball-joints. But I guess American consumers would not be willing to spend that much on a kids toy.

I think that would go to the YF-29 30th Anniversary. It was the worst out of the box with paint chipping, miss-molded parts and floppy joints. I also favored the green tinted canopy and the orange-yellow accents. Plus I would rather have the Alto version because I like the paint scheme better. It is also prone to paint rubbing on the nosecone. On the other hand it is the Valkyrie that stands on my desk at the moment so I would hardly call it horrible.

MP Tracks looks great. A must buy for me! http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-masterpiece-47/new-mp-25-masterpiece-tracks-photos-182260/ [edit:] I hope he has a proper flame decal on his hood. The one in the animation is a but too small for my tastes- 17164 replies

Preorders are up for the Omnigonix Spinout: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=omn10000&mode=retail http://tfsource.com/omnigox/spinout/ I wonder if I should preorder it. Someone on TFW mentioned that Takara is gonna releasing a MP Sunstreaker (just rumors of course) so I'm not sure if I should wait. Hopefully some of the Youtube reviewers get a test sample so I can see if this Omnigonix company is as solid a MMC/Fanstoys/Fansproject. It looks great though. Kudos to the designer. Hopefully some asian retailers put orders up. Shipping toys from the states always results in customs fees and extra shipping costs (shipping the item from the factory to the retailer).- 9276 replies

I guess you have to detach the legs before swinging the arms forward to prevent this from happening.

Does anyone know if the AV-13 Nemesis Prime (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=TAK12044&mode=retail) will be available from Japanese etailers? BBTS states that it will be released in April but I haven't seen a listing on Japanese sites. Thanks.- 17164 replies

I think the problem with MP-22 is that he is so close to perfect. He just needed a few more refinement steps and maybe 5000 Yen more budget. Stuff like a sliding panel that covers the thighs in truck mode that slide down to cover the gaps in the thighs, a better leg transformation to remove the hollowness, a mechanism to collapse the buttflap and covers that hide the fists in trailermode. Those improvements would make this a better toy for me. With a bigger budget they could have improved also the range of movement in all his joints. All the other problems like bot-mode size and the chubbyness stem from the greatest fail in the Masterpiece line. That is the fact that the Autobot cars have to interact with each other in alt-mode. The the Masterpiece cars are a head to small in bot-mode so that they can fit in the trailer and Ultra Magnus is to big so that four cars can fit in his trailer. To me this play pattern does nothing for the line but that is something that shouldn't be changed down the line imho. I guess a UM cab that is smaller than Convoy would look weird if it is noticeable smaller. Maybe a quarter inch would do much for bot-mode and might still look consistent in alt-mode. I'm happy with MP-22 because it is the UM Masterpiece I always wanted. However it is sad to see how much better it could have been. Overall I'm glad we have a somewhat consistent Masterpiece toy line.- 17164 replies

It is the regular black Masterpiece box with a huge white sticker slapped across the half of back and the side. It is a paper sticker. I assume the box is from a Chinese re-release of Frumble and Jaguar so they need to put some special warnings onto it so that the can sell it in mainland China. I think the bet option is to use warm temperature to make the glue softer and rub it away with my finger. Any kind of fluid will damage the box I assume. [edit:] Sometimes I think that Takara doesn't understand collectors. Like slapping big labels all over a collector toy or changing the biocard art/style after 22 Masterpiece releases. I mean this is not a jar of imported peanut-butter. It the same kind of sticker that a publisher but on adult mangas where you would rather rip the cover apart than removing the sticker. [edit2:] Some images. Slowly I get it off without damaging the box. I probably got already half of it off without any dents. There is also a second sticker on the box. I have the same stickers on my MP-11SW so it must be a Chinese release thing. However the Skywarp box is big enough so that the sticker has no impact on the box art.- 17164 replies
