Thanks for the heads-up on Road Rage. I also preordered the Transformers Cloud Shockwave. I don't have the Whirl mold and I really love the purple color.- 17164 replies

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Are you planning to buy the Tychus? I think they look great but there is no place for such a figure in my collection. Figma or S.H.Figuarts Starcraft toys would be right up my alley. -
I like the rotating seat gimmick. However I agree that it is pointless.

I preordered one from HLJ. Usually the NY route would be the cheapest because I have to pay 20% on top due to customs. However the hassle free return and the top customer service from HLJ is worth the extra money. In addition NY packages get caught by customs once in a while. I'm not happy with the price. My VF-0D is on the way to me at the moment (going through customs). If I don't like it I'm gonna sell it off and cancel my preorder (again a reason why I ordered from HLJ). I think for the price it should come with the Ghost drone. I like the dark blue panels on the legs but as far as I understand those are parts from the VF-0D and the actual toy will have a different color. If they announce a PWS-0X I will probably keep all my VF-0 Valkyries because this is just an awesome add-on set.

Looks good. Could it be that you forgot to extend the turret with the two guns in the nosecone area? Also having it in hand my version looks a bit more green to me. Other than that I'm really envious that I can't make pictures like that.... oh well, someday I will buy a good camera. -
Do you prefer TV or DYRL paint scheme?
Scyla replied to potatotomato's topic in Movies and TV Series
I prefer the DYRL scheme because it is more uniform so I can assume that they are all one squad. Vermilion Squad never looks like a real military unit to me. I also really like the black stripes that brings a bit more contrast to the scheme. Especially the Max and Hikaru Valkyries benefit from that in my opinion. -
I got mine today. I was unsure about the color because the images where not really showing the color accurately. I really like the hue of the olive green paint job. I think if it was a bit more green it would look better but I'm preferring the color of the reissue over the original release. Mine was a bit oily but luckily had no stress marks on the both flaps for the legs. Strangely the legs where not transformed completely for bomber-mode but nothing was broken. I was surprised about the size of the box. It was pretty flat. I dislike the muted color choices on the box that is typical for Tamashii Web Exclusive releases. I'd preferred a normal box. That is hardly a nit-pick however. The stand sucks but that was to be expected. I would love to have the stand plate that came with the SP version of the first release. I really dislike the exclusion of the landing gear because I would love to display it in bomber mode with the landing gear out. Now my Frontier collection comes slowly to a close. I only need a YF-25, VF-171EX and a VF-27CF. Luckily Bandai has the bases covered for me.

I've ordered from BBTS and TFSource however they both declare full value of the items (as they should do) so if you ship them to Canada you probably have to pay customs fees. I have heard good things about Toy Dojo and The Chosen Prime but never ordered from them personally. I heard Ages 3 and Up is a Canadian retailer so that might be an idea but I've heard mixed results about them (and never ordered from them personally) They also don't have the Sludge so you might get him from a different store. If you search for them look for: FansProject Lost Exo Realm LER-03 Volar (Swoop), LER-02 Cubrar (Slag) and LER-01 Columpio. Be aware that there are convention exclusive versions for LER-01 and 02. They don't have transformable weapons but instead come with a small Diaclone driver that has magnetic feet. The easiest difference to spot is LER-02 because the convention exclusive has a blue chest. LER-01 has gold chrome instead of a metallic plastic on the head. Be also aware that the little weapon dudes can break their weapons because the holes in their firsts don't go through all the way creating a vacuum that sucks the handle in. If you try to rotate the handle to free the piece it can twist right off. There are a few videos if you're into spoiling all the fun up front (like me). -
Yeah the 60 day limit never cuts it for me. Also while it is a neat system I never created a shipment and not ended up shipping all the items in my PW.

TruForce Collectibles: Mega Man X Action Figure
Scyla replied to chyll2's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The toy is available at BBTS: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=TRU10000&mode=retail Does anyone know if they are planning a full armored version or other characters. Sadly I missed all the D-Arts Rockman X toys so this would be a line to collect if they have plans to do more characters (the full armored version specifically and maybe a Zero). -

I don't know about that. Maybe for you it is different because you sticker all your Valkyries but for me I have all my Yamato/Arcadia releases and the look uniform with the minimal tampo-printing. So having a VF-0D with minimal deco out of the box vs a VF-0S would look odd to me. I agree that Arcadia should at least put all the markings shown in the anime onto their toys. The VF-17 is the worst offender imho.

I don't know. Just reissue the VF-11C and VF-4. Both of them where pretty much perfect.

Oh man I tried three times to write a reply and every time I closed the window or the content was not saved or whatever.... Short answer: no I'm not into buying multiple copies of each mode because this approach demands too much room and I'd like to keep my collection varied. Even Macross Museums like the ones form Kicker, Mom and Razerwire (from TFW205) look too cramped for my likings.

The video review from Vangelus made them look like they had a really fun play-pattern. On the other hand... that CollectionDX review....

I don't know if this is good news or not. On the other hand if frees budget for MMCs Cynicus and FansToys Tesla. ON THE OTHER HAND this means that the Metal Build Gold Frame, VF-171EX Grave Ver. and the VF-10ADVANCED are in the same month.

Back to the VF-4 I keep wondering if a new run would be profitable for Acradia. We don't know how many VF-4 where created by Yamato. Maybe it weren't that many produced and the few collectors that want one will pay high price. Maybe it is similar to the Mona Lisa. There just a handful of people who want to pay for it but if Leonardo made a few thousand they would collect dust in his workshop. I would be in for one. Preferably the FB2012 but I'd be also ok with the VF-X one at this point.

I finished stickering my MG Sazabi Ver. Ka (all but three of them). All it needs now is a flat coat and it can take its place next to the Nu Gundam. This kit is a blast but it seems it doesn't like me very much. I broke the thumb of one of the manipulators, broke the shin armor, misplaced stickers and the panel lining on one leg is barely visible. I really wish for a Metal Build version of this suit. What I like most about it is the white trim on the legs, hip armor and shoulders. It breaks up the wall of red pretty nicely. The LED gimmick is kinda useless. Even if it is on and the room is dark you can barely make out the light. I try to make some pictures after I coated it but I need to wait for better weather. Now onward to the RG Justice Gundam.

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next
Scyla replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I don't know where to ask this question but this seems fitting and it doesn't warrant its own thread. So the question is: what's up with all the drill tanks. I mean Transformers have them, Machine Robo has them, Gaogaigar has drill tanks legs and I'm sure I'm missing some more. It seems that Japan love drill tanks but I can't imagine where this comes from. I'd appreciate your input.- 17164 replies

Sell them as Schroedingers Valks. It's a unique selling point for people who like to gamble.

There are several factors: First it was a made to order toy that was pretty expensive when it was released so probably only people that really really wanted it got one and the stores didn't bother with ordering many extra units for latecomers. Second it is a really good Valkyrie toy with a pretty unusual transformation scheme. It's also pretty solid Third it was the last Valkyrie before Yamato (the company that made it) went belly up so the collectors tried buying up all the copies they could get because they feared (maybe rightfully so) that this will never be produced and the molds are lost forever this happened before Arcadia stated that they have the mold (they never confirmed that they have the VF-4 explicitly but they confirmed that they have the molds from the VF-1 V2 onwards).

This looks like a really fun set: Sadly no funds, no room and no time for building. I love all the small details and varieties in the groceries. The also packed a bunch of references in the set. Sadly no sliding entrance door from the episode where Bart sold his soul to Milhouse. I think the only thing that is missing from this set is a Linda and Paul McCartney minifig.
