At the moment I'm panel lining my MG Sazabi after I built the whole kit. That way I can see what ridges need to be panel lined and what parts are not visible from the outside. I usually disassemble and panel line one side of the kit and test with the oter side of I reached everything. I think I will try an enamel wash with one of the next kits. The Gundam Markers are ok but I don't get the intended results. Quick question for the pro builders here. If I don't paint the kit do I need to prepare the surface with a glossy coat? I know from mini wargaming that you need to prepare the painted surfaces with a coat so that the paint of the wash can flow freely do I have do to the same with the unpainted pieces? Can I use acrylic washes with a flat coat after applying the stickers to get a good result?

I received a package from BBTS with MP Jaguar and Frumble. It has a huge paper sticker on the backside. Does anyone has an idea how to remove this without damaging the box? I tried to peel it but it's the kind of sticker where the glue adheres more the surface than to the sticker so there is no way to remove without messing up the box.- 17164 replies

I really like the design of the VF-25. I probably would like it more if the wings would fold in the other direction in Battroid-Mode so that they form a carapace around the cockpit. Some mass shifting would also help to make the backpack a bit less prominent. I adore the design of the VF-2SS. It is a bit small though especially if the other Valkyries tend to get bigger over time. I love the overall design, BFG of the SAP pack that can swivel down. all the small missile doors and all the compartments for the rail guns. Due to the shape of the forward fuselage and the fact that the engines are so far apart the VF-2SS has a unique profile.

I think David has a right to complain. I sometimes think that is fetish goes a bit to far like the shaded of gray on the VF-25S Renewal but it is a totally valid not to like the toy because of the color. I myself are also unhappy with the shade of blue the chose and I'm debating if I should let the payment request from HLJ unanswered. Does anyone know if I have to face any negative repercussions because of that? Like getting my account shut down or something like that. I'm kinda don't have the same attachment with Zero that I have with the other entries in the Macross universe so for the asking price and the color choices I figured they toy might not be worth it for me. Nevertheless I'm looking forward for gorgeous pictures and hour long reviews of the VF-0D. Just to keep the thread going I think from all the different colors we saw of this toy the one for the final production version is the least preferable.... ...but it's clearly better than the GW-gray of the prototype. Also hasn't Kawamori intervened on the red color of the VF-19 Kai?

Ok I see what you mean. I guess I'm spoiled by all the giant and herculean Robots over the last years.... ....and the box art.- 17164 replies

I still don't get the color of the threads on Devastator are not black. I mean black is present on other parts of the toy. In addition this doesn't look like a painted rapid prototype toy which means that the steel molds are probably cut and thus the color distribution is fixed into place. So my biggest fear is that they will stay this way on the final production version (correct me if I'm wrong).- 17164 replies

I'm not too happy with the recent pictures of the VF-0D. I hope in hand it looks a bit different. I think it has the color Kawamori has in his head for this Valkyrie no matter what the color was in the animation, images, paintings, etc. If this is the case I can life with that however I would be much happier with the color the VF-0D has in this image: In the newest images it looks to clean and the differences between the white and the blue are too stark. However mine will sit for two month in my private warehouse so I hope to see some good images after some board members have it in hand.

*looks at the pictures in the very first post* Sadly it won't look nearly as good as on these photoshopped product shots.

If it goes into the review process again I assume Lego will just look at the license and says: "no way" and release a new set of the science institute.

Are the length of the stacks in UM accurate? I always get the feeling that they are too long in proportion to the rest of the body. Even on MP Magnus they are a bit too long. I think only the FansProject add-on set got it right. I just realized that my UM stacks length OCD is the same one that David has on colors.- 17164 replies

Bandai Gobots/Machine Robo Series Toy Thread
Scyla replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So I know nothing about Go-Bots or Machine Robo but is there a SR-71 in the images posted in this thread? I can't seem to spot it. -
I'm likely in for one of each. I plan to have a bare VF-0D, an armored VF-0S and a VF-0A with the Ghost booster. Hopefully after the release of the VF-0D we are able to tell if there are attachment points for the armor. Even better would be an announcement by Arcadia before preorders open. I think a armor add-on set for the VF-0S would help boost sales for the toy given the similar look to the previous Phoenix.

Do we know if Arcadia has a booth at the Winter Wonder Festival tomorrow (today)?

A review for the first figure are up. Peaugh: CollectionDX -
I just found out that there are two companies that make those figures. I prefer the OrchidSeed versions over the Hobby Japan ones (who is producing the figure I linked).

I don't know what to think of The Deadly Seven Sins figures by OrchidSeed. Some of them (like Satan) are pretty cool and desirable but others are very creepy looking. https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures-others/10729-the-seven-deadly-sins-astaroth-the-image-of-melancholy-limited-edition.html

I think Devastator looks fine for a non collector toy. However the guy who posed the toy clearly has no understanding of composition or appealing poses. To me it looks much better than the other combiners in the CW line (especially Menasor and Assimilation-Prime). What I don't get is why the threads aren't molded in black.- 17164 replies
