Thanks for the clarification.

I wonder if Arcadia skipped the "1" print because it was never shown in the animation of DYRL (and this is the DYRL version I reckon). Arcadia seems to only print the details that show up in the animation thus missing the U.N.Spacy marking on the VF-0D and the missing ejection seats warning signs. I don't know why they do it. Maybe to save costs (I can't imagine one marking would cost that much) or because they have a new license deal with Big West that says that they must be animation accurate. Please correct me wrong.

I'd go with a VF-25 you can get for 14k Yen: or a VF-1J 30th Anniversary on a deep discount: All other items cost too much for a first dip into collectible Valkyrie toys. Both companies produce great collectibles imho but not playable toys.

Foldable robots? Foldable robots!

Maybe they are in a small bag inside the box.

Here is an digibash fo the Omnigonix Spinout (Sunstreaker) by unexpectedpanda over at tfw2005: The main point of criticism is the small looking head which I agree with. Many criticize the head itself but I think it fits in with the TF Masterpiece toys quite well. I also think that all the red yellow black make the toy look really boring. For the final toy I'd wish for a less boring look maybe color the joints in a gunmetal color or a gray color. I also think that the red highlights on the shoulders from the comics would break up the sea of yellow nicely or pick up some details of the sculpt with a different color. I'm really hyped for this one but I hope it will be released in July or later. Maybe Omnigonix will send out some review samples. If this toy is successful maybe the designer can tackle some different characters like Dreadwind and Darkwing.- 9277 replies

https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/5088-macross-f-dx-chogokin-vf-27-lucifer-valkyrie-super-parts-set.html (MSRP 20k Yen) https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/11411-macross-f-dx-chogokin-vf-27-lucifer-valkyrie-grace-o-connor-custom-limited-edition.html (this is MSRP for us Gaijin) (Don't buy this one) https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/2631-macross-f-dx-chogokin-vf-25g-messiah-valkyrie-michael-blanc-custom-renewal-version.html (MSRP 14k Yen) You could also check Mandarake and Jungle for the items. Please keep in mind that Mandarake and Jungle sell used items (the one from NY are MISB). I also never ordered from them so I don't know personally what to expect but they seem to have a pretty good reputation. Super VF-27: http://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1014688180&ref=list http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_id=121&id=1161015 VF-25G: http://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1021267441&ref=list If this is your first time importing from Japan: Some countries (especially in Europe) will add sales tax and customs fees to your order if you import anything from Japan. Nippon Yasan (NY) will mark the price on the item down which is basically tax fraud and if you ship the item with insurance you might not get any money back if the carrier lose the package (because they think the item is worth the marked down price NY stated). NY is not the best shop when it comes to refunds due to broken items out the box (this is common for many Japan-based shops). While I really like the Renewal Valkyries they have their fair share of problems (loose joints, easily scraped paint, easily broken/bent areas when handled wrongly) so you might inform yourself what to expect before spending > $200 on a toy. Happy hunting.

Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
Scyla replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thanks for the reply. The problem is I want a Red and a Blue frame. The images make them look like they are exactly the same. However for my collection I want to different looking mechs besides the color. I always liked the load out of the PG Red Frame so I'm ok if it only comes with the Gerbera Straight, a Beam Rifle and a Shield. So that leaves the Blue Frame for something different and I want to know what I could expect. I'd love to get a Blue Frame Second Revise with the orange highlights and the giant transforming sword.- 6025 replies

Any release date on the Red and Blue Frame? I now almost nothing about the Seed Astray series but I assume that the Red Frame will come with his giant sword. Does the Blue Frame has a signature weapon besides the beam rifle?- 6025 replies

Mine was G1 Dreadwind. Never had a Darkwing. I know that the Dreadwind is somewhere in the attic of my mothers house but I'm unable to find it. My dream one day would be a AFA95 Dreadwind and Darkwing that I can rip out of their boxes and combine them to Dreadwing.- 17164 replies

Maybe because they think that shipping the item to you is a service you payed for and that is fulfilled (you received the item). So why refund you for something that that didn't went wrong.
-
But I know that the markings are misaligned. That is enough to make me crazy.
-
My idea was if Arcadia produced an defective patch and shipped it to HLJ. Laster they fixed the issue. If this is true maybe HLJ prefers to work out a fix with Arcadia. They can reach out to the manufacturer far better than their customers can. HLJ has happy customers, Arcadia has a reputation of going the extra mile for their customers and we, the customers are also happy. It is a win win win situation. Maybe I'm crazy but that was the idea behind my suggestion.
-
I wonder if all the units from HLJ have the misaligned markings... if so maybe they can make a deal about replacement parts from Arcadia.

I wonder why they would use ball joints for the shoulders. Is there not enough room for an universal swivel joint inside the shoulders? To me the ball jointed shoulders are one of the reasons not to get the figure.- 9277 replies

I received my copy of MMCs Cynicus (IDW Vos) today. This is such a nice toy and after my rambling about MP Star Saber a nice shift in quality. It feels so much better in hand as Star Saber. The plastic MMC is using feels really hefty and quality. The poses he can achieve are amazing. Real fun to handle and not fiddly to transform. I would have liked for the arms to tab better together but I think it is ok as is. And for the price they are asking now ($85) the details on the inner side of the legs should be painted and the extra head and face plate needed also some paint apps. I payed full price for and I have no attachment to the IDW character and I find him quite intriguing. However I can understand TF fans who don't get him for the price they're asking. For the initial pricing he would be a must have if you either like the DJD or MMC bots. The toy will be placed on my Reformatted shelf. I know that the base design doesn't came from MMC themselves but all the Reformatted bot are right up my alley. If MMC ever decides to create an original character (like FP Steelcore) I would totally get it. I'm also really looking forward to the rest of the not-DJD bots (I hope they redesign Tarns legs) and the other entries to the reformatted line. I hope MMC keeps up the long gaps between releases so I can keep up with their toys. Their foray into the Studio Ox designs (Defensor and Mirage) looks also promising. I really wonder if they will do a full Defensor with the Make Toys Guardia on the way.- 9277 replies

Hi, I made a comparison shot off the issue on my toy: Looks more than 1 mm off to me. The angle of the two images is not the same but it should show that they are off by quite a bit.

So I received my VF-0D from HLJ today and the first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was a loose part. The thruster detailing inside the legs fell off. It was glued in incorrectly and easily fell off. After I cleaned the whole area of excess glue I was able to put it correctly in place. The bummer on my version is that It also has the misplaced intake markings. Is this the same on all items or only on some? Did you returned your VF-0D in exchange for a new one?

So it seems it has printed on modex numbers ?

I had the opportunity to play with my MP Star Saber today. [rant] I have to say I'm still underwhelmed about the quality of the Takara Masterpiece collector line. Especially with the bigger robots like Ultra Magnus and Star Saber. This is the second figure (after MP-22) that has white paint that is applied to thin and with fuzzy edges on a collector figure. Starsaber also has paint issues with the red paint on the cockpit of the jet. It is sad to see that the quality control on the biggest robots is lacking. With the exception of MP Lambor all the other (smaller) Transformers are quite good and feel like a collectible. The biggest bots feel more like toys. I think this is a problem with the price point. Both MP-22 and MP-24 had not enough budget and I would have gladly payed $50 more for each if they would have better QC, design, paint applications. I understand that the designer of Star Saber opted for more colored plastic and less paint apps but to me this is to the detriment of the toy not a benefit. I know that paint apps a prone to scratching (I have enough Bandai Valkyries to prove that) but it just feels cheap to me. This is especially true for yellow and red plastic when you can see that the material is not 100% opaque. I would be ok if all the different colored plastic parts where painted in the same color. In this scenario scratches wouldn't be that visible and the toy would feel high quality to me. The unpainted die-cast parts are also pretty cheap looking especially if you have coated die-cast pieces right next to them in the feet. In addition the hallow legs also don't say collectible item to me. I also don't understand why the legs don't have compartments to store all the bits and pieces the toy comes with (like the two handed sword handle and the handle for the smaller sword). I even pegs would be a viable solution to me but even the screw holes have not the right diameter for the accessories. I could go on and on about all the problems I have with this figure. In the end however I'm glad to have it in my collection and that Takara made a MP Star Saber because it is really fun to play with. It is just sad to see that the biggest Masterpiece toys are not in line with the other MP items (MP-10B was my first of the new Masterpiece line and he is pretty much perfect for my likings) and doesn't have the same qualities as other collectible items. At the moment the Bandai reissue of the Koenig Monster is sitting on my desk and to me this is a proper collectible transforming toy that hit all the marks on my list. Great detail, great materials and paint apps. It just looks a feels valuable. In the end MP Star Saber is a great toy but not a great collectible. My VF-0D was in the same package as Star Saber and I'm a bit worried to open it because that might spoil the toy further. [/rant] I have my hopes up for MP Tracks because I really like the cars (I especially love my Streak) and I hope that Star Saber was the last big robot in the MP line for a while. Maybe a third party company will tackle Star Saber one day. I'd be super stoked by an MMC IDW Star Saber. That say my MMC Cynicus will be in my hands tomorrow.- 17164 replies
