    Interesting, I didn’t know that but it makes a lot of sense. It is sad that there is no cohesive set of G2 Dinobots available as it seems there are no garishly colored versions of Snarl and Slag.

    I never liked these colors for G2 Swoop and Sludge. The other G2 Dinobots are a muted green, blue and red. These are too bright and gaudy and look out of place with the other three. These would go well with the tiger stripe Grimlock. I don’t say the colors are bad looking, just that they don’t look like a cohesive group.

    Very nice to see this release, I always wanted a chunky monkey. Since I plan to own only one I would like it to be a VF-1S Super Strike one (Hikaru or Max).

    I know, I know. I’m still waiting for the announcement of the red MB Seven Sword and the DX SV-303. [edit:] Thinking about toys that were teased but never released by Bandai the SHF Shredder stings the most.

    While I prefer message boars myself over social media (I never had any interest in Facebook/Twitter/IG) I also think that I am not the right person to judge which one is "better". While I do visit MWF on a daily basis it is hard to me to develop any kind of personal relationship between the board members and even after 13 years on MFW I still feel like I don’t belong any kind of friend clique here. That is not the fault of any of the members here where I only ever had pleasant exchanges with but rather my own approach to interaction. As I posted before I have no interest in other social media platforms and I am usually a private person when it comes to sharing personal information. So it probably a me thing. It could also be that I was socializing on the message board of my old WoW guild where the board itself was more of a coordination and news tool for the guild’s activities rather than a social media platform. Most of the deep social interaction happened in game. Maybe it never occurred to me to use a message board as a social media platform. The other part is that I find it rude and intrusive to bother other people with my personal "issues". That said compared to other social media platforms I think we have a good community here and I still enjoy visiting the form every day.

    It’s a collaboration with Phantaci, a fashion brand I believe. They did also an RX-78 in these colors a while back.

    I think I’m good. Even of the MB Strike Freedom is my favorite mold of the line, this does nothing for me.

    Wait, that brown cross axle will always be there even when you decide to not have the shuttle there? That is even more hilarious. [edit:] After watching the the lifestyle video it seems like you cannot even decide that you don’t want to have the shuttle there or not since it is linked directly to the separation mechanism. That seems like someone needs to come up with a mod. I wouldn’t want to have these low poly out of scale shuttles on a display piece like this.

    While it is great that they are releasing these variants I feel like that they won’t complete all the variants and that (what I really want) they don’t do it for a fully armored up X. Mega Man X has been a seminal experience for my childhood and many of the aesthetics cues had a lasting impact on my sensibilities. For most oft the game X had some sort of armor upgrade already (and mostly the complete set). So please threeZero, do the armored version and release all the weapons color ways for it (and all the Mavericks too). Now knowing all that will I be in on this? [edit:] Rising Fire is the Mega Man X4 (which I never played) fire weapon which shows me two things: 1) I don’t even know what Flame Mammoths weapon looks like without the X full armor and 2) it seems like Mega Man X didn’t have the impact I thought it had if I cannot get the weapon names straight. Very peculiar choice going from Mega Man X directly to X4. Why not flesh out this line first. Why is this not the X2 Speed Burner variant that had such a cool dash when fully charged; puzzling. Especially since this looks very close/identical to the X2 line art.

    Yesterday I opened my BringArts FF7 Elena and it turns out that the ball hinge that connects the head to the rest of the body is completely shattered. They probably destroyed it when assembling the figure. Is there a replacement joint I can use to fix that? I already checked the wrist replacement joints that come with Figma 1/12 scale figures but their diameter is too small to fit without modifications. Another thought I had was buying the Cloud Strife model kit and hope they have an adequate joint packed into it that I could utilize since it looks quite similar to the action figure variant. Thanks in advance for any kind of help.

    With these options on the table I would recommend Macross 2. To me Macross 2 is much closer to the themes and the tone of the rest of Macross than Plus. Macross Plus, while good in its own right feels to me very disjointed to the rest of the entries and I have an inkling that many fans of Macross got the wrong idea what Macross is about after watching the Robotech version and then Plus (and nothing else). That is not Macross Plus’ fault given that it was not meant to be a Macross title to begin with. Personally I have a much greater appreciation for Macross 7, Frontier and Delta precisely because I didn’t experience the franchise in the SDF —> Plus order.

    Yesterday was the 3rd party panel of the Chicago TFCon. In true FansToys fashion they rained on the parade of DX9 and 01-Studio by announcing their Datsuns and Broadside: I find it funny that their Scavenger doesn’t look like an undefined blob of a shape (other than FT Bonecrusher): The only thing I’m going to preorder are the Datsuns. Broadside is interesting but at 700mm (28”) length much too big for me. Other than that I am super excited for this years exclusive: Fans Hobby Euro G1 Predator Skyquake

    Being from the EU I can tell you that HLJ never undervalues their items so I always have to pay the full 20% import sales tax (the tariffs) every time I order something through them. So I am not surprised that they follow the other laws strictly as well. I remember watching an interview with Scott (the founder and at the time owner of HLJ) who said that they don’t do a lot of business with the EU compared to the US (Gee, I wonder why this is). I assume they will not start losing customers from the US as well with applying the correct tax percentage to customers from there. The other store that is very strict with following the regulations is amiami, I wonder what their state on these new US taxes is.

    @mikeszekely I thought Armada Nemesis Prime was also $90 (he is €92 in the EU). Since he is such a weird release (no trailer, no regular face sculpt, not the correct sword, odd animation shading color), I hope we will get a full commander release with the trailer and a "correct" color for Nemesis Prime down the line (maybe akin to the Nemesis Bendy Prime version). I think Armada Nemesis Prime is supposed to be black in the cartoon but because you cannot shade black the animators decided to make him this dark green. RiD Scourge is also sometimes depicted as a very dark blue (and sometimes black) but it is easier to have parts of Scourge a pure black because he has other colors on him whereas Armada Nemesis Prime is predominantly black.
