1. Am I the only one that thinks that the poster is giving too much away? The conspirator in me thinks this is a hoax. On the other hand this poor use of an image manipulator program might explain why the Yamcadia boxes are lacking compared to Bandais or Hasegawas efforts and is indeed real.
2. The media-tags don't work? e.g.
3. Thanks for the input. With all this helpful comments I think I can transform it safely now. Another thing. Is there any trick to align the doors of the landing gear so that they don't look out of whack?
4. Upon closer inspection I found a missing painted on detail on my VF-1S Hikaru Custom. The paint for the position light on the left tail fin is missing. It is not that obvious because the tip of the fin is also red so it is hard to spot. I assume they both should be red like on the Focker Custom. I might have to send it back to HLJ depending if they can replace it. [edit: ] The HLJ website shows the Hikaru as discontinued. So I have to paint it myself if it stats bothering me. Any idea what color to use.
5. But she's got a new hat! *screams*
6. After the whole customs shenanigans (they are gonna charge me storage costs). I finally had the chance to handle a Yamcadia V2 VF-1. I have to say I'm very pleased with the toy. I also like the stand a lot. I can't tell what it is exactly but something about the weight, the hue of the plastic and the feel when touching it that is just right. They look really like a pristine piece of toy goodness. I think I'm impressed by the VF-1 more that I am with any other toy in my collection. Yes, this include my VF-19S. As a nitpick some of the missile clusters are loose and the stand needs another pivot point in the main strut so the Valkyrie can roll properly. Oh and out of the box many joints are so stiff that it was scary to transform it for the first time. I have a few questions regarding transformation and stuff I noticed. How do I transform the backpack so that the hinge doesn't break? The way I figured out to go from Fighter- to Gerwalk-Mode is to push the whole backpack assembly down so it goes below the backplate and then folding it 180 degree so it rests against the backplate. Is this the correct way to do it? Then for the fix posed hands. The gun holding hand grips the handle of the gun-pod so firm that I fear I tear the gun apart when I want to remove it. Any thoughts about that? The problem seems to be that there is a peg molded into the hand that goes into the slot in the handle. That way it creates a death grip. Transforming the VF-1 back to fighter mode is there a trick to rotate the shoulder hinges into position? The way I understand it they should be perpendicular to the shoulder blocks in their final position. I tried to do that through pushing the arms forward but that way it seems to create a lot of pressure onto the shoulder hinges so I'm not sure if this is the best way to do it.
7. Incidentally my first experience with Front Mission was also FM3. Funny! I should finish this game some day before my PS2 decide to break up on me. To bad there is no way to port ones collection over to the newer systems without buying the games again and again or having to rely on crappy ports. *shakes his fist in anger for the version of FF6 on the PS store* So has anyone a recommendation what FM games to pick up that have the same look and feel that part three had?
8. To I received my MP Soundwave yesterday and I have an issue with his left thigh joint. It seems unable to ratchet one click back. It's really scary because I fear it will break like the knee joints on my MP-09B because it looks fairly similar. Now the thigh is always at this weird angle. Has anyone had the same issue? I guess I have to take it apart an see whats wrong with it. Maybe sanding done the pin of the ratchet. As a general observation I'm once again slightly disappointed by the MP figures from Takara. Especially the gate marks stand out. They just look terrible to me. The one on the thighs are stand out the most I guess. The whole figure feels a bit off. I think of all of my MP figures MP-10B is still the best even if he has the limited articulation. My MP Streak is a great toy also but he has the painted on tail lights and the red plastic just feels wrong for a high end toy. Luckily you can't see the red plastic that much in bot-mode. After all this nitpicks I have to say that it is a fun toy to play with and honestly I play with my MP Transformers much more then I do with my collector Macross toys. I really like the double jointed elbows and knees. Even if I think that they are only there because of transformation and to allow for the gimmick to operate his own tape deck instead of allowing for a expressive toy. Also Condor is a great little treat (he also has gate marks that bother me to no end). I often think that I'm the only person that is bothered by the quality of the Takara Masterpiece toys. Of course it doesn't help that I received my first Aracdia VF-1S at the same day because they are just awesome.
9. Actually flying a plane is very easy. As someone mentioned in this thread there are planes that basically fly on their own because they are so stable. The tricky part is to start and land safely on your own. Of course the auto pilot on modern aircrafts can do that as well (if I remember that episode of Myth Busters correctly). Once you are airborne there is the flight stick, the foot pedals and the thrust lever that you need to navigate the plane. Of course this is a simplified view of the world but you can fly the right kind of plane with a flight instructor and no basic knowledge without endangering everyone around you. I think the hardest part of flying is to learn all the rules and regulations.
10. Well the MP-13B Soundblaster is a black repaint of Soundwave with Ratbat as a new figure. http://www.nippon-yasan.com/lang-en/figures-transformers/5832-transformers-masterpiece-mp13b-soundblaster.html However I think this hardly qualifies as the Autobot know as Blaster. Trypticon would be quite awesome but it would be too big done in the style of their Omega Supreme. At least for my collection. Wasn't his alt-mode in WfC a giant orbital cannon of death?
11. Don't you dare destroy my hopes and dreams!
12. Heresy! Macross 7 is the best entry in the Macross series. It has Milia who is clearly the star of the whole series and she is single so there is still hope for me!
13. I think you need a minimum amount of posts on this message port before you're allowed to post in the sale section.
14. Actually the way I understand it Yamcadia Valkyries are a niche inside a niche of a niche.
15. That are sad news. As far as I know they where designed by a member of MW. They had already produced prototypes so I can only assume that preorders didn't went to well for them. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=39368&hl=toynami#entry1051747 Here is the original thread.
16. What are the additional intakes on the VF-25 Messiah and YF-29 Durandal that stay on the chest plate for (green arrow)? Is there any technical explanation for them? Also what are the black areas for on those planes (red arrow)? They are also present on the chest of the VF-1 Valkyrie. Image from the Macross Mecha Manual
17. Hope that helps, there is an image of the broken knee joints at the beginning of the video.
18. It seems it is only a problem for the black MP-09 and from the information I've gathered it happens for each and every one of them. Some people claim that they're fused together with the ratchet part of the joint IIRC.
19. Of course but why stop at the head. Like I said a VF-1 V3 for the Macross the First Valkyries.
20. So I had to fix the knee joint of my MP-09B today again! I hope this will help. I glued all parts of the crumbled, geared piece onto a washer. I will also remove the piece with the teeth of the ratchet so it will be a friction joint only. I would like to glue a washer on top for extra stability but then I have to shave down the plastic so I can fit the washer sandwich into the thigh. I hope this won't be necessary. Oh and the other knee joint broke also but I have to find fitting washers to repair this one. It still holds up so no need to hurry. I think the MP-09 would be the perfect transformer if it weren't for the parts that just wait to break.
21. Someone mentioned that he put some plastic wrap inside the joint to tighten it up but I haven't seen any images of that. Maybe some super glue would work too but I'm to scared of damaging the toy so I just leave it as it is.
22. Are they flying through space? They must be due to the Strike Pack. I image the TF Seekers are able to fly in space.
23. Basically the joints where the engine nacelles rotate around are not strong enough to hold the weight of the Super Parts. So on my YF-29 30th Anniversary the wing won't stay into position and rotate downwards by itself. This is even worse when the wings are fully extended.
24. They look like a purple gray in this image.
25. Maybe they want to show how sturdy the joints on the engine nacelles are now. So no Droopy Wing Syndrome (DWS) anymore.
