  1. If the 30th Anniversary is any indication then they won't.
  2. Come on the YF-29 Super Parts are not that bad.... ..yes they are
  3. What plane are we talking about (I didn't see Up!)? I mean I assume you could build (certification is a different thing) an aircraft that has two buttons one for take off and one for landing. Most definitely train a dog to push those buttons at the right time. In addition you could add a few more buttons that the dog can push for random destinations. But I doubt that a dog has the capability to maneuver or even navigate a plane that is not powered by some kind of AI in a way that would qualify as flying. All scenarios I could think of result in a crash except one. This would be to wire the brain of the dog with some kind of neuronal interface through which he can tell the plane what to do (like fly back to his owner). However this will again lead to the question who is flying the plane: the dog or the AI? Long story short: a dog probably cannot fly an airplane in the definition that he can start the systems of an airplane, take of, fly designated location and land there safely without the major steps being done by a computer program. Transforming stuff on the other hand.... during my last flight the meal was served with a transformable fork (transforms from storage-mode to fork-mode). I believe that technology would enable us to create a device (controlled by the human who is sitting in said device) that transforms from one form to another. Like say a small boat that transforms into a battle suit to deliver soldiers by sea to their area of operations or something like that. From there on it would be possible to have an aircraft doing it. Maybe not in the way Macross envisioned it but something along the lines that qualifying as transformation from one mode to another (maybe fighter to robot). It would probably be a drone that transforms from helicopter to spider mode but who said robots cannot look like spiders. I'm sure if the technology is available some crazy Japanese engineer will probably try it even if it makes no sense at all and if Japan still exists by then. Highly amusing topic by the way!
  4. Hm don't know if I should purchase this. First I think it is really expensive for two movies compared to BD releases in the west. I would really like to have the whole Macross show/OVA/movie collection on BD and not just the two Frontier movies. What are the chances that the rest gets a release with proper English subtitles? I mean any geek who is thinking about purchasing this release probably has to have the rest as well. On the other hand if I don't buy it then the chances of getting the rest with English subtitles won't getting more likely. Two quick questions. Is there any indication about the quality of the subtitles. Will they have a level of quality that an English speaking person can enjoy it or do you have to guess the meaning of every sentence. I assume that the subtitles will be made with the Japanese market in mind and not the international audience. Regarding availability. Should I preorder as soon as possible or do I have time till may do make a decision?
  5. I think changing shipping addresses should not be an issue. I had to change it for the VF-25A and they did (even if I never got any notification that they did so). However it was before I payed for it so I can't say for sure. Best bet would be their facebook page. From what I heard they are more responsive there.
  6. I assume it is the VF-1J from SDF:M and not the one from Macross The First.
  7. 1. VF-25 2. YF-19/VF-19A 3. VF-2SS I love the image of the VF-25F where alto sits on the plane. That Fighter-Mode is gorgeous. I would say of all variants I like the G the most due to the sniper rifle, the hue of the blue color, the mono-eye and because it its the only Messiah (just the nick-name Messiah is great) that looks good with Tornado Parts. I really like the forward fuselage behind the cockpit and the transforming Super and Armor Parts. The best piece however is the curvature on the outer side of the shield. I prefer the YF-19/VF-19A over the VF-19K/S/F/P because it looks more like a real piece of military gear. The VF-19 in M7 looks more like an anime super hero then anything else. I love how sleek the wings fold in when it transforms to Battroid-Mode and the mono boob is a unique design that I really like. It also has cool features like the arm weapon and there is something about prototype planes that speaks to me. The YF-23 (the inspiration for the YF-21) is just cool looking. The VF-2SS really looks like the successor of the VF-1 more then other Valkyries (some would call it a clone ). It has a wonky leg transformation but something about the canopy cover the head and the general look of the Valk just gets me. In addition the SAP Packs are great except when they get ready to fire that ginormous rail gun. The packs are great with all the small opening missile bays and the storage for the different sized rail guns.
  8. After missing the last VF-11C on Mandarake I would love to see a reissue of the toy by Arcadia. Unfortunately I didn't collect Macross 7 Valkyries at the time they where released but I know they didn't sell well then. However they seem to be crazy rare and going for high prices so a built to order reissue from Arcadia could be a save bet. From what I read Arcadia should have acquired the molds for the VF-11.
  9. Is there any reason why Magnus is not his own toy. I'm no Transformers geek in any way so can you tell me if he was that way in the show or the comics or only the G1 toy. If it is the latter I will stay far away from it. The one thing I can't stand is if someone starts reasoning with: "but that's how it was on the G1 toy" when they try to justify a design decision that seems really.. awkward. If they want a toy that is as close to G1 as possible why not buy the G1 toy??? This is beyond me. I hope for us both that Takara will release a Skywarp and Thundercracker with a nice paint job.
  10. Well I thought all Arcadia Valkyrie releases where made to order. Now we see crazy discounts on the rainbow Valk and the VF-1S readily available. However hlj set the recent on low stock so maybe we'll see them go to discontinued very soon.
  11. I wish they would release a MP-11 Skywarp. I'm also hoping for a MP Galvatron now that Ultra Magnus and Rodimus Convoy got the MP treatment. Talking about MP Ultra Magnus. Does anyone know if it will be a MP-10 with pieces you can attach to it? Similar to the G1 Ultra Magnus.
  12. I don't think that is a good wish. Sales mean products don't sell well which lead to companies not making any money. This leads to companies not release anything other then save bets. (so no VF-9) or even worse, companies shutting down and not releasing anything. Be careful what you wish for!
  13. Quick question. Is it confirmed that the toy will come with an included stand? Has someone tested the stand that came with Roy's VF-1S with the VF-19 from Yamato?
  14. As far as I know the YF-19 will be built to order. If this is true then it will keep its value. However I don't think it wont increase to VF-4 levels because this seems like a one of a kind release. Of course Arcadia can still decide to reissue it or release a bare version and such things.
  15. The M3 team looks cool. I have to admit I have a soft spot for this particular combiner because I had three of the limb bots as a child. However Macross collection leaves no funds for this combiner team. Maybe after April. Does anyone know if Fansproject is planning on releasing a gift set for this combiner? After seeing a review I think it is cool that Fansproject comes full circle to their City Commander release with all the parts forming. Is it really necessary to have this amount of stuff in this day and age? I mean on this board fans already see the actual leg delivery system of the VF-1 as a violation of the perfect transformation principle. They might not even consider this a transforming robot.
  16. I think the VF-19 wings are cool (minus the VF-19S/F) because the fold so seamlessly into the wing roots and line up perfectly. I wish Kawamori had designed a sliding joint so that the stubby wings of the S and F would be less pointy in Battroid-Mode. The MP-3 would look good in robot mode if they split up the hip-thingies so that the horizontal stabilizers stayed at the legs and slide up just like they do on the MP-11 the rest could then still dangle from the hips or be placed on the backside of the robot. There is a fan-mod out there for the MP-3 that seems not terrible complicated. That shows that it could be done. I'm sure MP-3 looks the way it does because Kawamori envisioned it like that. But this is not a Transformers board is it?
  17. My RVF-25 holds up pretty well. The joins can hold any position just as the were able when I first got it. So there is hope.
  18. On the other hand most horizontal stabilizers on Transformers toys look terrible in bot mode because they cannot magically shrink during transformation or are lacking a good folding mechanism. The same goes to an extend for the wings of the VF-1 and VF-17.
  19. It is floppy to a degree where it can't hold any pose and will collapse under its own weight when the Super Parts are attached. It is not helping that the metal clamp of the hips wont stay locked into its position and that Yf-29 is missing the space for the crotch piece that the Super VF-27 has to achieve full crotch thrust.
  20. Manly floppy hips and outer engine nacelles. Plus easy scratch-able paint on the nosecone. Then there are warped head lasers that seem to yellow faster then the rest of the plane. Both issues might not be present on the Isamu Custom since it comes with different head lasers. My YF-29 Focker Custom has a miss-molded hip armor but I'm the only one that has that problem apparently.
  21. Got the payment request from hlj. Hm I though It would be released in the end of December. Well I guess I can start to ship him and Roy tomorrow.
  22. Well it depends. I think that the Bandai Valkyries are decently priced. The problem there was that you had almost no chance to get them at MSRP. Yamcadia however is getting more and more expensive. Releases like the VF-17D, the VF-4G and now the YF-19 are close to what I would pay. Then again I don't have any interest for the 1/6 scale dolls with their uncanny faces so I never understood where the appeal for HT comes from. Some of the stuff looks cool like the Ironman suits but I don't think they are cheap either. Stuff like the Hall of Armor is in my opinion not worth the price based on the review I saw. Also stuff like third party Transformers or the after market prices like the TRU MP-10 are also quite high. I don't want to harp on the Uranos jets again but I just can't see where the TFC F-16 Falcon is a different toy then G1 Dreadwing. In the end it all depends on your collecting habits. The chances are high that the YF-19 will be the only new release from Arcadia for 2014 so there is time to save up. The same goes for Bandai who might only have the Tornado Parts and the YF-30 as new releases. So if you're willing to focus on only collecting Valks I think the market has cooled down enough so it is still affordable to buy all the new molds that are out. I myself restricted some of my toy shopping sprees. I don't buy the regular Transformer releases in stores anymore for example. Or I don't buy multiple copies of one toy. I know it would be cool to have 10 VF-25S (the Messiah, Super Messiah, Armored Messiah each in ever mode and one for storage) but that is something I cannot afford. So naturally I will only buy one YF-19. If the prices are low enough so Valkyries make money for Bandai and Arcadia is a totally different question.
  23. What fin was missing? From one of the ghosts? *hovers hand over the Panic Button*
  24. What I love about Toyworlds Orion is that he doesn't have a fake grill unlike the last iterations of every Optimus Prime I own. After seeing a few Nemean reviews on youtube I'm kinda disappointed that there is not more to him.
