  1. Past hour
  2. Err...was getting RDJ in Tropic Thunder vibes myself.
  3. I've had good luck with Bandai warranties stateside when I've had need of them.
  4. The one I got was sold as new and unopened. It in fact was opened and someone who had gotten a broken antenna took the antenna out and sent it back. Amazoon would only return and refund, and bandai responded to me after 3 months saying there were no replacement parts and they would be doing nothing to remedy my situation. Hopefully you get a good new one, its a pretty sweet one.
  5. Today
  6. In support of @BroTaku79, gotta post the new threezero adapters just received today. Thanks again for the awesome stands!!! I'm pretty sure the last pic is an unsupported configuration, lol
  7. Ah, but "American-made Robotech" has been conceived and miscarried so often it's hard to keep track. The Sentinels was stillborn, The Shadow Chronicles died in the crib, Robotech 3000 and Academy were flushed before they could become fetal matter, and whatever Sony claims to have developed isn't even a glint in the milkman's eye. 🙄 Books are the only American-made Robotech media to have survived infancy, and that's where obvious lifts from other sci-fi franchises become apparent. Indeed, some of the more recent comics have borrowed liberally from unrelated Macross sequels (even tracing artwork outright, if I'm not mistaken), leading to their untimely demise... ...but I don't think Cyrus customizing his prototypes is going to hurt his business any more than it's already hurting. 😒
  8. Nice: reminds me of mine: Splitting the middle pylon was a royal pain:
  9. Yeah, it's a lousy time to be into tech. My Batocera box is coming along... now that I finally got around to opening it up, yanking the SSD, and sticking it into a different computer to actually install Batocera. Tried to install Batocera on a USB drive, then using that boot to install Batocera to the SSD, but it failed. Then you have to put it back in back in the original box and boot it so Batocera can do it's initial setup, before shutting it down, pulling the SSD again, and connecting it to a third computer (this time running Linux) because that's still the easiest way to load the games. Of which, it turns out, I have a bit more than 1TB I want to use. Now, the Beelink SER5 I bought has a second m.2 slot, but a quick check online tells me that we're already at the point where even a 512GB drive costs about what a 1TB drive did a few months ago. I was originally hoping to do complete or near-complete North American sets for everything up to Dreamcast, but I'm going to have to whittle the CD-based consoles down to just what I might actually play, especially because I want to get a few PS2 and Gamecube games on there. But, hey, I hear Sinden light guns are pretty much plug-and-play with Batocera now, so I ordered one of those. I'll make sure the Time Crisis, Point Blank, Virtua Cop, etc games make the cut.
  10. Reminded me a bit of this one.
  11. Or.. just focus on a product that clearly represents the series it's taken from, maybe? Not to be a stick in the mud about having fun, this just feels ill-advised for them to be parading around random variants and possibilities, when many of the people who pre-ordered are still waiting for the original product. Maybe there's not much they can do while waiting for production, but showing off things that probably won't ever get produced probably isn't doing them any favors.
  12. Curious what you're referring to? The comics? Robotech has been dead for a long time.
  13. Isn't this kind of weird stuff that killed America made Robotech a few years ago?
  14. It's weird that there's all these faces suddenly showing up being mixed in with the official characters in the soldier range. Just confuses folks especially there's just so many variants now that are still yet unreleased. It would be better to clearly label them as a 'What If' range or something..
  15. Here are the missile bay based on the Legioss inner frame. I’m open to any suggestions and ideas.
  16. I think he was giving away the Arnold homage with his Terminator repaint custom. The facial hair thing is interesting as questions about grooming lead to questions about culture pretty quickly.
  17. Zentradi in the original Macross series run the full gamut of Human skin tones and onwards into Amazing Technicolor Population territory with Vrlitwhai being a baby blue behemoth and Quamzin being a sort of light lavender. The beard is new, tho. I don't think we see a Zentradi with facial hair before Macross Digital Mission VF-X in '97. Also, is it just me or do these facial sculpts look... familiar? Like this one is just straight-up Arnold Schwarzenegger c. Terminator. That's literally the same face he's making on the Terminator poster, just without the sunglasses. And I wanna say this one looks like a young Laurence Fishburne...
  18. As far as I can recall, we don't see any Zentradi with facial hair in Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Macross: Do You Remember Love?, or Macross II: Lovers Again. That said, they clearly can grow facial hair as we see several in later titles (predominantly in civilian life) who do have facial hair. The enemy Zentradi commander in Macross Digital Mission VF-X (1997) is, IINM, the first Zentradi character to be depicted with facial hair. In Macross Frontier, there are a few as well. Macross Frontier fleet sponsor and SMS owner Richard Bilra is a giant Zentradi rocking a big bushy mustache and beard, and Ranka's Zentradi manager Elmo Kridanik has a mustache. 's it just me or does that bootleg-tier Robotech figure bear an odd resemblance to a young Laurence Fishburne?
  19. If you went all-in on the Kickstarter, a ten-pack would contain....5 Gluu-Gers (Rico, Konda, Bron and 2 Generic Types) and 5 Serau-Gers (Khyron, Breetai, Dolza, and 2 Generic types).....but there have already been variants, so who knows what the final count will be....
  20. > Australia > Spiders Of course it would be spiders. 😆 Now, we do know of at least one Macross design that IS apparently named for a specific genus of spiders. The Annabella Lasiodora mobile weapon from Macross VF-X2. Not sure what the "Annabella" part is in reference to, but Lasiodora is a genus of tarantulas native to Brazil. Huh, OK. That's a pretty solid description of the basic mechanics of a charged particle beam weapon hearkening back to Nikola Tesla's original design proposal in 1934. In principle, very similar technology to what's used in a lot of sci-fi including Macross. The description of turbolasers I remembered from long ago (which is apparently Legends now) was more in line with the gas-dynamic laser used by the VF-1's Strike Pack (using heat flows and pressure changes in a gas to generate a laser beam).
  21. I know this toy is for Robotech, but it made me try and think back and I just don’t remember any zentraedi having facial hair. Maybe it was regulation in their military or that they just couldn’t grow it, could also be my memory failing me
  22. I know zentraedi came in many colors from Caucasian to purple, so dark skin like this isn’t out of the realm of what could be. But not sure if it’s due to regulation or they just can’t grow it, I can’t really remember a single one with facial hair, although it could just be my memory
  23. Yesterday
  24. @505thAirborne Nice. On my desk, the Lighting-C's big wings are coming into their own. And the seat is done. One of the tasks to come is tinting the canopy a clear yellow. I have Alclad Transparent Yellow for that, but dipping in a test piece had it coming out a bit 'pebbled.' I was hoping it would be as easy as dipping it in Klear. I'll experiment a bit, more, thinning certainly as it is a darker yellow straight from the bottle. Time to look for a spare canopy as a mule... Thom Some great builds there @electric indigo!
  25. @all Looking forward to see your exciting work in the new year! Here's my output for 2025:
  26. Thank you @Thom, yep, that deck will go all the way through. I'm 99% sure I'll be putting some fiber-optic lighting this one, so all the details can be seen.
