What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Seto Kaiba replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Catching up on a bunch of titles this week... finally got to My Dress-Up Darling S2. I'm vexed beyond words that it took so long to get a season two for My Dress-Up Darling. That one was so popular it's flat astonishing it didn't get green-lit immediately. My group (re)watched the entire first season before starting the second, and had a great time with it. Betrothed to My Sister's Ex had another good one this week, it seems our protagonist is finally coming around to realizing that being treated the way her family treated her is nothing remotely approaching "normal" never mind "healthy". Secrets of the Silent Witch also had another good episode, with Monica dealing with the practical etiquette classes and predictably freaking out over such niceties as tea parties and formal dances. - Today

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Seto Kaiba replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
Undoubtably... though it's entirely possible what Sheryl spent on that operation itself could equal or exceed the GDP of a small country in its own right. (You'd be surprised how small the GDP of some of the smallest countries is!) (Never mind her own net worth.) -
I was just going to post this one, we just watched it. For those curious, it's a film in 4 parts/chapters, has an 80's vibe to it, good solid acting, you start to question if Tarantino had any involvement and then you realize you're watching one of the better movies made in a very long time. I recommend it. The first 2 parts are ok, part 3 is where it kicks into high gear.

I haven’t been following the tariff sitch and hadn’t even considered it. I wonder if distribution is being expedited in order to avoid canceled/problematic orders.

Sweet Jesus. There’s capitalism/free market…and then there’s this BS. It’s not unlike the 1/55 M&Ms going for ~$500 a piece a couple years back. It’s the same nonsense. As with the 1/55 M&Ms, I’ll wait (hope?) for the inevitable(?) reissue of Hunter’s cyclone. Or mod one myself.

Get that bad boy set up! I didn't have to fix the joints on the revival armored 25. So much nicer without the glossy finish too. -
Nice work!!! 👍

On the Ranger, we come across the discovery of gaps... Under the 'wings.' I put a shim in on both sides to stabilize the parts and will be using PPP to fill them. Then it was onto the gear doors. As said before, the landing feet do not fit the opening, so new ones need to be made. Out came the Scotch tape and a pencil. The reluting traces were then applied to thin styrene and tenderly cut out. The fit was a lot better! Not perfect, but good enough for my work. I'll sand those down some and then start filling in the gappage! Thom

I haven't kept up with the Cobi catalogue lately, that Phantom looks cool. My boys and I had fun building their Concorde and Huey kits so I'll probably get their Phantom too.

Wow that's amazing! How can they only make 500 pieces? Nobody sell it in eBay yet.

Not to mention it's sort of Hulu's last hurrah. I'm not surprised, and in fact I had a pretty good feeling we weren't gonna get anything Predator related at all. Xenomorph do chitter just like the Predator species, so the sound in the trailer could been a Xenomorph right next to the character, who knows.

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next
Hikuro replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That's indeed really disappointing and not surprising. I just got my hands using what money I didn't spend at the con last weekend both Silverbolt and the Longhaul/Hook 2 pack at a local Target....honestly was very surprised they were present when I was on the website late last night so I took the chance early this morning. Sadly the 2 pack were already gone but they had 5 more silverbolts. Had to drive 40 miles to get the 2 pack at the next Target. Man, getting Silverbolt out of the box and looking over the giant brick set he comes with, it's almost if not bigger than he is! This is truthfully the biggest bummer when it comes to these new designs but I guess that's just how things go with the price point and how they're designed. Overall I do like how he looks in general, and I went ahead and put Slingshot and Airaid into their respected slots. Now I just gotta wait until Fireflight and Skydive....that sucks. Longhaul and Hook was like a "Wait....I paid 90 for this?" Their transformations from vehicle to robot were just so simplistic that it was either genius or disappointing I can't figure out what. Their combiner transformation was a lot more intuitive in my opinion but my god that backside is just so god awful to look at that I'm glad I don't got to! I also slapped bonecrusher and scrapper on and then I went, "Ah..........crap...." cause he's not gonna be able to stand. This is what I kind of hate about how they release combiners, go feet/legs, torso, then arms, don't go arm here, leg there, maybe the torso, or just do the torso last like the Stunticons. Right now I'm kind of glad that the Combaticons are the last set for now....course it's gonna be a whole year before they're even finished. And I want my G2 Stunticons dammit! They've had all this time, 2 years now to finish these and t hey only got 2 more stinking figures to go. All they are, are just repaints, how freaking hard can it be?- 17518 replies

I think it's something more than that, possibly an issue with their website's calculations. For the ¥3,230 price of the 1/48 VF-1J/A to equal $26.10 USD, the exchange rate would have to be about ¥124 to the dollar. The yen hasn't been that strong in over three years. Not a big deal, regardless. I'm just happy that the prices ended up being lower than I expected. One of my cousins is visiting Japan at the moment, but I doubt I can talk her into squeezing a few kits into her bags for me!

The green hue in that photo may be the result of white balance or reflection from all the blue around it. It doesn't mean a bit of green in the shade wouldn't look nice though.
