The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread
Axelay replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
And this is precisely why Mecha Invasion's Giant Legion is absolutely Devastator perfection for me. I didn't want something slavishly accurate to the animation or the toy - I wanted something better. And it delivers in every conceivable way. I still cannot believe that the whole thing cost me just a little over $300.- 9510 replies

Your Most Recent General Toy Purchase - 2024 Edition
M'Kyuun replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Nope. I was wondering that myself, figuring the chest might, but it doesn't. I thought the print might be glow-in-the-dark, but nope to that too. I'm not a big fan of toys with batteries, so it doesn't bother me, but i can understand wanting that feature. The arc reactor print is shiny, though, so it shows up nicely when light hits it. I was more upset that the elbows were fixed in place. there's no meaningful weight or stress placed on the arms, so they could have used clicky plates or and to affect a working elbow within about the same space. I could mod it, but eh. I'll just enjoy it as the display piece it was meant to be and not worry about the articulation. $130 on the LEGO Shop site. With 1297 pieces, it's priced well considering it's a licensed set.- 1124 replies

Yep, these are specifically for the Moebius kits. But they're going this one instead. The blue pieces of tape is where I'm pretty sure I'll be putting the cannons.

But you want this one for the super duper packs

Lol, we need the ability to put magnets in the hover parts so we can put the opposite magnets in a base and have a hovering diorama! Or maybe just 5mm holes so we can use clear display stands.

Lol. It's nice indeed. But i have enough Plamax vf-1's now, personally . I'm giving this line a break for a while. And since i'm just about done shipping all my other models...there's plenty to keep me busy for a long time still. Of course, i know at some point, i will give in to temptation again.

Looks like you got turrets syndrome

Might also be cool to see an effect piece under the hover jets to lift it up a tad off the ground for a more dynamic look.

Nice! Are those scaled to fit the Moebius Galactica model? Where did you buy those?

Okay, since there seems to be some serious interest here: HR-32 Flash Clapper (as modeled by JOSEBLACKSOUL on Cults 3D) 3D-printed in light grey photopolymer resin, at 12K resolution (0.05mm layer height), and scale-adjusted to Kitz Concept's Dana Sterling figure (approximately 1:10 scale). I won't know the exact price until I've got a prototype finalized, but it'll cost significantly less than the Dana figure itself. I'll have a sample printed and photographed by the end of the month.

Radioguy started following Legos, anyone?
-
Said it before, and will again: Trek, like Dr Who, and DUNE, doesn't have staying power in Lego, and I don't think it has to be to be a success. I think the DUNE Ornithopter was known to be a potential one-off, hence it having the full cast of minifigs whether they rode or even appeared in a scene with a Ornithopter. The 1701-D had more reason to include the whole TNG cast, but I think the core reason was the same - include them now because we may never do more. I REALLY wish that had been true of the TARDIS console room, but that had been in the IDEAS line instead of ICONS, to its disservice, and might explain that. A shame, though. I'd have loved an official multi-Dr set.
