@Papa Rat - Chicken Walker is looking REALLY good! While I re-prime and get painting done on the Cat's Eye, I'm also going to finish up my LEAST favorite of all the 1/1000 Star Trek kits I started but never finished up last year. I've never been a fan of TOS ship design, but I got it for completionism sake. This kit is a nightmare when it comes to fit and seam lines. It's cursed I swear, everything that can go wrong has gone wrong just getting to this stage. It's an OOOLD mold, you can just tell, but I'm not gonna give up and hopefully I can turn it into something halfway decent to sit beside my other 1/1000 ST kits....Stay tuned.

I wish they'd do a new variant. I have all of the Bandai re-releases from a couple decades back. Maybe a TV Max & Kakizaki combo set. Also, they could re-release the armored 1J. The retro packaging has been done a bunch of times now. They should try some chunky scale and style Zentradi stuff. Imagine a solid, heavy duty, ratchet joint Glaug or Q-Rau. Those would be a huge success.

My favorite off that album is Supernaut. And the cover of that song by 1000 Homo Dj’s is amazing as well.

Rogue was getting up there as well, but I don’t think it was over $100 on a preorder sale. That $103 price on these are with a discount for the preorder, I’m sure there’s probably somewhere else that has them a little cheaper, but not by a lot

I’d prefer a figure to go with it, but it is still kind of a neat add on for a little display with the kit

I'm curious to how many of these they have to make to cover the production costs verses such a selective market.

The thread of horrors... Quite paranoid with yellowing lately... so much that I'm having second thoughts of a Metal Build Eva-00 pre-order due to having some white parts...

Considering how their Eva line sold like hot pancakes, yet never released so many shown prototypes including of the angels, (and the popularity of Evangelion vs Macross) it's unlikely the Toma and etc will not retailers storerooms. Unless the original series gets a reboot, those prototypes will remain flaking their paint on some dusty Bandai shelf...

I don't know if I could justify something that expensive, and I'm just about the biggest Mospeada fan you'll ever meet. It would be an easier decision if I didn't have to repaint it... 😒

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Seto Kaiba replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
We need to see if someone can stealthily drop this on Bandai's desk... because I doubt we're the only ones who'd look at this and say "Take my money, Bandai!" In practice, you could say it's a typically polite Japanese way of saying "It's my story and I'll do what I want." 😆 Kawamori's not going to let himself be locked into a single version of the narrative, even if official publications do generally preference the TV series version over movie versions for timelines and such. He'll pick whatever he thinks best fits the new story he's trying to tell and run with that. -
Yeesh, that's huge. Like, I can't say it's not tempting, even at that price, but I still think it feels too busy overall, both in all the extra markings and little details that look like they would just add excessive complexity and break easily. It's still really impressive though. I think the overall look is better on the robot, since it seems like they managed to make the tails even smaller than the Riobot version. I don't know if I could justify something that big for a series I really never cared about though. It's definitely a collection centerpiece, but we'll see who sells it, and whether the exchange rate helps any.

Octos and Cheyenne would be very nice too... Major pipedream; we all know those will NEVER happen; heck, we're still waiting for the Tomahawk and Phalanx from OG Macross to see the light of day.
