Looking for the hivemind's opinions on sourcing the Toyrise Legioss.

I generally order from BBTS (I've mentioned this before, but they gave me some amazing customer service way back in prehistoric times, with an issue with a Yamato Proto-Garland, and have earned my business since), and they've been eating most of the tariff costs on pre-tariff orders, which is amazing, but... some newer price differences would be nice to avoid.

However, I haven't ordered from AmiAmi or HLJ in a long time (early Sentinels and Zillion Tri-Charger), so I don't have a sense of current shipping rates to the USA or tariffs, which they don't/can't easily calculate in (BBTS assumes a tariff rate).

It looks like the prices are currently:

1) AmiAmi: https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail/?gcode=FIGURE-191150&srsltid=AfmBOorhdLzs5kKsjT01hziCEVBHjUD_cGToTOaXbv6xIeHzHDpChm2- :

-     -     10560 yen currently comes out to around $72... but then need shipping and tariffs.

2) HLJ: https://www.hlj.com/toyr-se-afc-01x-omega-legioss-omega-tkt08592 (our MW friend's link https://www.hlj.com/?utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=scorchedearthtoys😞

-     -     11400 yen currently couse out to around $77... plus, again, shipping and tariffs.

3) BBTS: https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/333868 :

-     -     $141.49 is hard to take; it's around double of the others, pre-shipping and tariffs; BBTS pile of loot ends up making shipping darn near free, but that's a lot of tariff action going on (though, in fairness, I DO trust BBTS to reduce their price if tariffs end up lower... IF).

Does anyone have recent experience to suggest what final, landed costs to the USA would be, or have alternatives?

Thanks everyone. I'm actually really excited for the Another Genesis line and, like I've often complained, having some genuinely PLAYABLE MOSPEADA toys (not just collectibles for display).

Maybe the other female Ride Armor with the swords.

But the other two male designs were a bit much.  If they rearranged the weapons layout on the GBP-1S looking one, it would be better.

I have a soft spot for sidecars and designs that remind me of Aramaki's work on Bubblegum Crisis, so Grizzly has clicked with me.

Below are some current examples of shipping from HLJ to Michigan with the tariffs.

Currently HLJ is only offering DHL to the states which isn't the cheapest shipping option. But with the shipping and tariffs it is doubling the price of the figures. Given the states of things, I am not surprised BBTS is $140 while the Japanese shops are $75. HLJ is extending the private warehouse policy so I am going to wait until the tariffs are removed or reduced. Hope that helps.

@RavenHawk, I'm not sure which state you reside in but depending which (in this case most) BBTS also charges state tax (which is also another consideration). I'm guessing you're aware of this since you have probably frequented BBTS more than I have (which has been nil in the last 6 years for me).

Tariffs is a ton of crap because we already get charged state sales tax for most states... so tariffs are pmuch doubling up on taxing.

Opps, strayed off topic cause it hurts the wallet. Back to the main programming.

I agree, but unfortunately it’s not the overseas stores at fault over things. It’s something that’s unfortunately also creeping on a lot of stateside places of many retailers of different products due to either parts of products made overseas or the entire product made overseas. I do hope things change soon, because everything seems to be getting pricey these days

DHL is going to cost 3300 yen plus 15% of the price of the item.  You should be able to easily do the math from there.

Finally i had a couple of days off and had some time to play with the legioss and tread. I really like both toys and, even though the legioss seems a bit smaller to me, combined they are really fantastic. Hopefully we will get a tread also for the green and red legioss. I will be waiting for the missile kit to arrive before trying to transform them, meanwhile i hope you enjoy these pictures in fighter mode. And if you like follow me on my insta page

Thanks for the tip, honestly those flaps looks so fragile that i am scared just to look at them. But I will try to fix them though ;)

I’ve had a few things pop off the Legioss, but they’ve been “relatively” easy to pop back on.

I’ve found it easier to just open up the whole arm assembly to get the tailfins out.

Yeah, like the in-take covers. I know what you mean. Although this second release seems a bit more solid than the first one. But, as i said, i haven't transformed it yet...

Welcome to the party, good sir!

Still amazing what they pulled off design-wise, integrating everything into the bomber.

Yay, managed to score the Sentinel Tlead last night.

Good for you! Still looking for a reasonably-priced Legioss.

If you don't mind it being a first edition, I can help. I bought the reissue to compare and don't need a plethora of Etas.

From those pics, I can see some weakness in the articulation design of the elbow (see picture).

I can also notice there is no metal hinge, all is made of plastic or other equivalent material, except the screws.

What’s wrong with the articulation?

Looks like a double joint with a swivel joint where the elbow meets the forearm

Don't forget this is still not mass produced copy.

And i don't think it can weight 1.7 kg without a lot of metal

I know one of the stated goals Pose+ has mentioned is to simplify some aspects to make it more play friendly, but I wished they had stuck to a more canon interpretation on how the wings fold at the back like Sentinel did. The rear will it look more elegant that way.

I do have some concerns with this figure. I haven't pulled the trigger on ordering it yet, though I'm really tempted.

The price is high, which is understandable with current prices and considering the size, but I do need to know that I'll feel like it was money well-spent.

I don't have any experience with Pose+ (or Art Storm) except for the Zillion Tricharger, which I've had two of sitting in their boxes waiting for some free time for about a year.

I finally took those out and they were... fine. They were fine. Not quite durable enough to be a toy, and not quite fancy enough or with enough higher quality materials to justify their price (I think they were in the $300s, if memory serves). Just not encouraging for me on this one.

I do also recall the Art Storm Megazone 23 Garland, which was about this price, shiny, and had some poor reviews once people actually had it in hand.

So, still on the edge deciding on getting this (will I have regrets later if I don't?), but these zoomed in plastic shots aren't selling me.

Ha.. I forgot all about the Pose+ Tricharger. I remember reporting in 2023 the original release being delayed by a whole year, then a year later 2024 on actual release it kinda flew under the radar, and here we are nearly one year later. I was somewhat on the fence on this & was waiting for early reviews on it..

Art Storm branding being on both the Tricharger & the Garland is just them being the distributor, but the manufacturer for both are different parties and don't think they are directly related. One being Pose+ and the other Fewture for the Garland.

Thanks. I wasn't sure what Art Storm's role in this was.

As for the Tri-Charger, I'm happy to have it in my collection. There isn't much Zillion stuff out there, and I do own the original one, too. Other than that, though, it isn't really amazing as a toy or as a collectible, they didn't do much of anything to update it for 30+ years later, and it just doesn't feel like it's worth the price. Maybe half the price, considering the small audience for it.

So, I was hoping it would settle me on getting the new Pose+ Legioss, but it really hasn't encouraged me that that will be worth the price.

Aww, reminds me of the oft teased Toynami... Glad you were able to make your own, looks good!

Thanks @jenius. Like many, for years & years now I have wanted the Shadow Beta for my collection. With CM's and Toynami never officially offering one, I went for it and made my own... worth it! B))

Right now, it's linked up to a Shadow Fighter, later on I'm going to see if my CM's Pilot-less Dark Legioss will connect with the Beta.
