The armor is just glued on to the fabric bodysuit, and not very securely; this immediately fell off as I tried to move the arm. Note the plastic flash on the shield handle, and the damage caused to the forearm paint if you actually attach the shield to the arm... 😬 Also note the mask can be removed from the helmet, but there's no face underneath. The face is, in fact, an optional piece you would install instead of the mask. There's no hoverbike to scale, but who needs a hoverbike if you've got a Cyclone? 😝 Great to see the Dana Sterling figure/s after all this time. 🤩 I don't mind the mesh suit. The armor is just glued on to the fabric bodysuit, and not very securely; this immediately fell off as I tried to move the arm. I would hate to glue that piece back on. 😔 There has to be a better way to attach the armor. I wonder if a loop of black elastic could be fixed to the armor and just worn around the upper arm. I am still eagerly awaiting my pre-order from BBTS after seeing all these photos. Edited February 14 by shazam
Big s
So, what’s under the mesh? just curious what kind of plastic and if it’s black or fleas colored. It might be easier to repaint and reattach armor directly to the plastic, but that would depend on the plastic

jvmacross
The pattern of the "fabric" used on the white thermal underwear figures lower arm seems different....not great but less disctracting....wonder why they did not use that same fabric throughout the entire figure? Does the black fabric have the same pattern as the lower white arm fabric? I guess technically it still has "removable" armor... Hopefully they can come up with a better solution if they do the Zentran/Meltran armored and pilot figs...
jvmacross
Looking at the Dana figs....I really don't need the removable armor gimmick for the Zentran/Meltran figs....instead...the 2-pack gimmick is pretty good though....
Convectuoso
What are your overall thoughts on the Dana figure, @tekering?
Spark-O-Matic
I think KC should just develop something new, carefully make it, pack it up, warehouse until the expected amounts are produced then introduce it to the public, open up short preorders and start shipping. no rushing, no poor Qc, just mostly happy customers. I can dream right?

Impossible to determine, without damaging the fabric. 12 hours ago, jvmacross said: Does the black fabric have the same pattern as the lower white arm fabric? No, it's all completely different material... The forearms on the duty uniform are a soft nylon material, closer to plastic than fabric. I really wish they'd used it for the whole figure. 10 hours ago, Convectuoso said: What are your overall thoughts on the Dana figure, @tekering? Well, I wish the heels on the armored figure were as substantial as the ones on the duty uniform boots... The armored figure doesn't balance quite as well, and Dana's head went flying off as soon as she toppled over. 😟 The ball-jointed neck for the helmeted head is smaller than the ball joint for the other figure, so Dana's head only sits loosely on the body of the armored figure. They clearly weren't designed to be compatible. 😒 And even though the heels on the duty uniform boots appear higher than the armored boots, the armored figure has longer legs and therefore stands taller. 🤨

jvmacross
Chunky Regult...at this point, I doubt they will be able to slim down those thicc legs...it's probably just about ready for release....the Zentran figure looks promising
jvmacross
I would prefer if they just included a correctly-sized (for the given cockpit size) Zentradi figure with swappable (standing and seated) legs...then surprise us with a fully articulated Regult pilot figure as a bonus...like they did with the 2-fig Dana.... jvmacross
Much like the dumb move with the leg tab re-positioning...they will double-down and say the thick legs are better.... I don't recall thick legs being a complaint when the initial pics for the Battle Pod were released...so they definitely went backwards from the initial prototype... Seriously...it was looking pretty decent....
jenius
At the end of the day, it still has to be a toy. They want you to be able to put an actual pilot figure in the toy? Imagine how heavy that cockpit is going to be. with lights, doors, and equipment. HMR style joints aren't going to pull that off. I'm guessing they've greatly reduced the knee articulation and hopefully added a ratchet. EDIT - Is the pilot articulated or is it just something that stands next to the Battlepod and never goes in? Big s
1 hour ago, jenius said: EDIT - Is the pilot articulated or is it just something that stands next to the Battlepod and never goes in? It’s supposed to sit inside. That’s why there are teasers that show a figure can fit. As far as the prototype shown, I’m not sure if it has joints in the pilot yet or if it’s another one of their cloth bodysuits that has armor glued on
MKT
The Battle Pod does look like it has very short legs in some pic stills.. but in the video, I think they have the appropriate length. Am quite ok with the thicker legs though.. Meanwhile, my Danas arrived and am pleasantly surprised it came with bonuses which I presume would be for those who PO'ed early.. In the same shipment, KC also included replacement parts for the earlier issue of upside down modex numbers on the leg fins. They actually sent the whole leg assemblies lol. MKT
These look like new pics for the ‘Heavy Armour’. As with the Battle Pod, looks like KC is doing a renewed push for both items to get more orders.. https://www.kitzconcept.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=61&product_id=79 Edit: New video here: https://fb.watch/qnEIPtDhp-/?mibextid=w8EBqM 1. Clown hands will be articulated, a first for any VF-1. 2. Battle Pod has new missile pod add-ons. Those who PO’ed early are supposed to take note. My reading of it is that it is possible the missile pods are a bonus item. There will be 2 other new missile pod accessories / variants, details to be revealed later. 3. Those who already PO’ed the Heavy Armour will get a whole new VF-1J free! Edited February 23 by MKT
jvmacross
I guess the GBP looks better than the Battle Pod....still smh on the changes made to it, but what can you do....I guess since I PO'd the Battle Pod, I will get the "priviledge" of ordering the upcoming "missile" variants at a discount....apparently just getting the parts separately may not be an option.... A "free" VF-1J is nice I suppose... Also, I hope that the GBP armor will still come with a grey-visor VF-1J head...it was absent from the video

tekering
It looks to me like Kitz Concept has upscaled the cockpit module to fit a 6-inch figure -- meaning a 1:72 scale pilot -- so they've had to greatly reduce the height of the Battle Pod to still claim it's at the same scale. As is well-known by now, the official stats on Zentraedi mecha are nonsensical; there's no way a 10-meter pilot can fit in a 15-meter Regult. As Moscato had demonstrated before, Experten proved again with their Zentran pilot kit for Hasegawa's 1:72 model... Their figure is downscaled to 1:100, and still barely squeezes into the Battle Pod. Basically, a Regult would have to be at least 22 meters tall to fit a standard 10-meter Zentraedi pilot, so a proper 1:72 toy would actually stand over 30cm. It looks like Kitz Concept simply shortened the legs by 50% to keep their toy height consistent with the official stats, proportions be damned. 🙄 20 hours ago, MKT said: The Battle Pod does look like it has very short legs in some pic stills.. but in the video, I think they have the appropriate length. That's exactly why I was looking forward to this one and avoided buying HMR versions. They just didn't make sense to me, and there's scenes in the show where they indeed seem much bigger than valks. I was going to use 1:72 regult kits to match my other HMR, but once this was announced, I was excited to not have to do another model I don't have time for. And I haven't been collecting any of Kitz valks, so I don't have to find any... did Yamato or anyone ever even make 1:60 Regults?

jvmacross
To be fair to KC....I will stick to comparisons with non-gashapon toys and the lineart it is supposed to be derived from only.... More screen grabs at different angles... I think maybe it may look better if the knee joints are straightened up more so it does not look so "short"....still looking forward to actually getting this in-hand... IMO...looks worse when looking at it straight on or from behind...that's when you notice the thickness of the legs the most....at least as it is currently posed within these pics.... jvmacross
I like the overall proportions of the Battle Pod when the legs are not posed as "squat" as they were in the original video..... However, at no point during the second video did Cyrus let go of the Battle Pod so it could stand on its own...my concern is that it will not be able to unless the knee joints are in a more extreme bend, which just makes it appear way too short...guess we will have to wait and see

If this is true, they need to advertise that and commit because that would certainly at least triple their sales. Personally, I would preorder/buy 3 more right now if this was official if it meant I could have a light, heavy, and hopefully a scout version (pleeeeeease). As it is, I feel like I'll be lucky if they ever actually release the darn thing, so I'm not holding my breath.
