jenius Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Does that mean if you missed Macross the First volume 1-5 you can just buy volume 6 and get everything?
Beltane70 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Does that mean if you missed Macross the First volume 1-5 you can just buy volume 6 and get everything? No, I think that just means volume 6 gets you everything that's been put up on ComicWalker for Macross the First, which I believe started somewhere in the middle of what would be the fifth volume.
Tochiro Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 It's been announced and then cancelled twice so far. So basically whenever Mikimoto has time to get around to it I guess.
Hikuro Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Just finished last 2 volumes....dat awkward porno scene.
Renato Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 At this point I'm willing to bet the second Delta movie will be in theatres before we get to the halfway point of The First. :/
nel2012 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 my only good thought on this issue is that Mikimoto is busy designing characters for Macross Delta .... *dreams*
Marzan Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) my only good thought on this issue is that Mikimoto is busy designing characters for Macross Delta .... *dreams* That'd be sweet. Very unlikely though. Edited August 14, 2015 by Marzan
Tochiro Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) Yeah, no. Mikimoto is currently doing a bunch of other non-Macross related projects. Edited August 15, 2015 by Tochiro
Renato Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Yeah, no. I kimono is currently doing a bunch of other non-Macross related projects. I kimono is a very busy man!
Tochiro Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 I kimono is a very busy man! Sigh. Fixed. Damn autocorrect. The point stands tho. :-p
Beltane70 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 These damn delays are driving me nuts! Dammit, HAL, stop screwing around and start working on your damned manga!!
Roy Focker Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Way back at Anime Expo 01 (the last big fan convention I ever attended ) he said was known for being slow at meet deadlines.
Gubaba Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Macross 7 Trash was proof of that... I lost track of how many "intermissions" there were towards the end...
Tochiro Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Add his history/notoriety regarding deadlines to the fact that he has multiple projects going on at once and...well....yeah....
Strumvogel Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I'm pretty much wondering if he'll ever return to finish his Gundam manga as it is. That's been stalled for some, half a decade now?
Gubaba Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 That was put on hiatus so he could do Macross the First, yeah.
VF-15 Banshee Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Not that Ecole Du Ciel seemed to be going anywhere...
Einherjar Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Never forget the trials and tribulations of Berserk's schedule slips.
Gubaba Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Never forget the trials and tribulations of Berserk's schedule slips. I'm an Appleseed fan. Speak not to me of "tribulations."
Einherjar Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 What's this about trials and tribble-ations? Whatever influence Idolmaster, if all things, had on the creator a few years ago, or over the years.
Strumvogel Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I'm an Appleseed fan. Speak not to me of "tribulations." Shirow has pretty much given up on mangas proper so we'd probably never see him finish that series. Maybe if he gets desperate enough I guess he'd get back into it. At least Mikimoto is still working on mangas as it is. VF-15 Banshee - I thought Ecole du Ciel's story got ramped up by the last manga and was pretty interesting in my opinion.
no3Ljm Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I was about to buy the first six manga so that it will be shipped together when the VF-0A is ready but after reading some of the comments here, I have a feeling that it will take some time before he finishes the whole thing. And by then, I'll probably loose interest on reading stuff.

I kept waiting for Book 5 to be completed (especially since he promised a resolution to the massive cliffhanger from BOOK TWO!!!) and waiting and waiting, only to finally come across a little paragraph in Intron Depot: Ballistics that said, "Since I'll never finish Appleseed..." and I was PISSED... no3Ljm Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Lose interest in Macross or Mikimoto...? what kind of fan ARE you...? :-p Hahaha! The kind of fan who works so hard to raise a beautiful boy. And somehow not to make the hobby mingle on my priorities. Hehehe. Toys, I don't mind. But reading and watching mangas nowadays, I really don't have too much of a time.
Bolt Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 No3ljm I can relate. Gave up on Shirow San a long time ago, even though Appleseed was a major factor in my manga , Anime craze (aside from Macross / gundam) Appleseed was pretty epic for its time.. Macross is pretty much all I read/watch now & my boy is finally getting old enough to watch with me& play with his first 1/65 VF-17 haha Hkj just shipped no6 ..so I'm stoked!
Einherjar Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Bad news everyone, another delay into October, but rescheduled to around the time of the Delta event.
Renato Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Thanks for the info. However, I think at this point, we're all like:
nhyone Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Book 5 came out in Mar 2013 and book 6 in May 2015? I missed just one book even though I have not checked back in 2 years. Wow.
Raptor One Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 (edited) Haha I had the same thought Edit: Oops, didn't notice the date on that last post, and now everyone probably thinks there's an update. My bad folks. Edited October 16, 2015 by Raptor One
Ignacio Ocamica Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Ahhhhh the horror!!! I thought there was an update.
Beltane70 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 I don't see why they even bother putting up a release date anymore. They might as well just be honest and say, "we don't know when the new installment is going to be released.".
