Kurt Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Here are the latest commissions I just finished. A couple of TV VF-1A's. These are a bit of a departure from my usual work because there is no weathering. That was a customer request. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
UN Spacy Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Wow. It still looks great even without the weathering.
EXO Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Awesome! That's how I want mines to look! Great work Kurt!
Mr March Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 They look fantastic. Great work as always kurt. I wish I had some spare cash around to commission a custom. Maybe I'll save up for it. The more I see your work, the more I want to have one done for myself. And I just so happen to own a 1/48 VF-1A that has always been the black sheep of my triplets. Might just have to do something with it
Skull-1 Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 I like it I like it! Sometimes the weathring is a bit overdone (not necessarily you, just in general). They seemed to keep the planes pretty clean on the TV show!
Black Valkyrie Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 WOW ! Excellent, like if they where made by a toy company.
kanata67 Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 and how much does a custom like that cost? Specifically... say I supplied a yammie 1/60 strike that I wanted to look like a jetfire? How about painting a unique custom? I'm real good at making stuff but don't have the desire to paint them once I build them. Just curious.
Toonz Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 wow beautiful works! if only yamato do something about the 1As.........
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Dude those are AWESOME!!!!!!! I one day hope yamato gets around to making a TV Max VF-1A. He kicked so much ass in that thing. PLus its just a simplistic beautiful fighter.
promethuem5 Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Those are gorgeous.... but you need TV hands for them... Nice clean planes, they look factory fresh.
VF-1James Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 I like them a lot, but I wonder, why doesn't anyone use the actual TV show arms?
magicsp00n Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 The TV Max 1A has always been my favorite. Someday I WILL have one... Someday...
Hurricane29 Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Once again Kurt, awesome job. One of these days when I get the money I'm definately going to order a custom from you.
Godzilla Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 DAMN! Kurt, it looks great. I should commission you do the customs for me rather than I do it myself. What were the colors you use for the TV max and Kakazaki?
Mechamaniac Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I'm not a fan of the TV 1A schemes but those look awesome!!
Graham Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 They look great. I'll get them added to the MW custom toy gallery soon. Graham
EXO Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 So where's Max, the pilot? I guess he went out to get a piece of Q-Rau pie...
JoLe727 Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Beautiful works, Kurt!!! Gotta save money so you can do mine. Thanks for sharing.
hirohawa Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Looks fantastic. Are you sanding down parts for clearance during xformation and if so which ones?
Chowser Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I like them a lot, but I wonder, why doesn't anyone use the actual TV show arms? not many people have tv arms to spare I have a set of TV arms waiting for me to get a spare 1A so I can commission someone to do my Max custom (since I have no skills whatsoever). Looks great Kurt!
do not disturb Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 now only if yamato would..... great work as usual kurt.
lt.actionjackson Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Wow, nice work. C'mon Yamato, there's still plenty of money making options for those 1/48 molds you have.
nightmareB4macross Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Kurt, Incredible work as always, you never fail to impress me. **I just started to make my own set of these, but in 1/55. I should have them completed within a few days. You really do have the golden touch when it comes to creating art. NB4M
EXO Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Looks fantastic. Are you sanding down parts for clearance during xformation and if so which ones? http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...=0entry126857
Hoptimus Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Nice. Max's TV VF-1A is one of my all time favorites.
Hurin Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I'm usually a fan of weathering. . . but these two may have just converted me. They look absolutely fantastic. Maybe the lack of weathering is triggering that "fresh out of the box" giddiness that then overwhelms my love a well-weathered model/toy. Or maybe I'm thinking about it too much. . . H
