  1. Good point Yeah, I think I was crossing my wires with Gundam or something else, admittedly. I didn't know they had issues with the 3000 (don't really read much Japanese, so the Macross Chronicles and whatnot are not primarily in mind for me). As for the VF-4, not a big fan of that design to be honest. I like that concept! It would also allow the characters to show development in their combat flying skills, and really push people to their limits in having to improvise tactics and strategy to overcome the limits of the tech they're using and the advantage of the enemy.
  2. Yeah, actually I meant the VF-3000. Got beercans for fingers here and I hit the "4" instead of the "3".
  3. Yup. Pretty much. I sometimes wonder if an infographic should be drawn up showing why Macross and Gundam are not the same thing, but I doubt they'd pay any attention to it. I'd settle for a story on another colony during the Macross Plus era, or a sequel to MII (yeah, it's a different production, I know). Instead of the hot new superfighter prototype of the week, maybe they could focus on some serious character development as well as flesh out the world during or just after either of those eras. The VF-4000 or the VF-5000 would be good candidates as the main VF for colonies in the first idea. The VF-2SS meantime would work for the second.
  4. Hard pass. Playmates found new ways to fail where they once succeeded.
  5. Actually, there were more than just three. Not to mention: they actually build quite nicely once you get some paint and glue onto them-
  6. From FoxNews: Paul Reubens, the comedian who played the popular children's character Pee-wee Herman, has died at 70 following a battle with cancer. "Last night we said farewell to Paul Reubens, an iconic American actor, comedian, writer and producer whose beloved character Pee-wee Herman delighted generations of children and adults with his positivity, whimsy and belief in the importance of kindness," his long-time rep said in a statement obtained by Fox News Digital. "Paul bravely and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit. A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit," she added. 7. In the next couple of months, our finances should loosen up considerably after the move; I've been thinking of resurrecting my cat's eye kit. I'll let you know how that goes, and hopefully be paying you for a set of these!
  8. Okay... time for an autopsy on this one: 1) The linework has no "flow" to it and is too uniform, making everything look flat. 2) The proportions on the "woman in red" are really off; her head is HUGE compared to Claudia's. 3) Did someone rip the front of the girl in red's blouse off or something? 4) Why do they have their arms behind their backs? It neutralizes any way to convey emotion with their hands/ arms and makes them look like they're having a staring contest. 5) Why is Roy sitting in the background? With the look on his face, he seems to have about as much interest in this confrontation as Rick does asking Lynn Kyle for his opinion on the military! Even if Roy were friends with the woman in red, he would not be sitting there passively; we would be trying to get between the two ladies or something and putting an end to this confrontation ( professional or personal). On the background: is Roy perching by the edge of a cliff? 7) For that matter: who sits like that?! Roy's left ankle's gotta be killing him by now! 8 ) Speaking of death: would somebody get poor Roy a value meal or something? The poor guy look like he hasn't eaten since the SDF-1 took off!!! 9) Perspective: non-existent (unless either: A) Roy is 9 and a half feet tall, or B) Claudia and her nemesis here are 3 and 1/2 feet tall!) ) 10) Colors: did someone spill their watercolor set?
  9. I think even GoBots had better mecha.....
  10. Thanks Thom! Yeah, once we get settled and get some stuff paid down, October should look like a much better month. Will have to get the painting situation with my models squared away (apartment building and all), but I'll find a way. Some stuff that I'd really like to do (including that SDF-1 Bridge build with Gobal and Misa, and make the rest of the Bridge Bunnies!) coming up, and finally having the finances to do it right! That reminds me also: I have a pair of F-4 Phatoms in 1/72 (you know the ones ) that I was thinking of using as the base for a custom-design starfighter. We'll have to see how things go... Yup! *cue RotJ Main Title* Really liking the work on your F-5E cockpit! That harness just sells it! That control panel.... is that a 3D decal or is that painted? If the latter...your eyes must be hurting ya! lol Seriously...nice work! Your USS Texas looks like it was pulled straight from a photo shoot at General Dynamics Electric Boat Shipyards Groton, here in Connecticut!
  11. I wonder if Tron could be "upgraded", so that the character wouldn't be tied so much to BB. No offense to Mr. Boxleitner, but I think someone else could do the role justice. Not to mention that should he pass, we would have to lean upon deepfake if we were to use him extensively for Tron.
  12. I might be looking into buying some of those, now that I finally got stuff taken care of and my ship came in!!!
  13. UPDATE: We almost have the apartment situation taken care of: the good news is that it's in a much quieter neighborhood, and the rent is dropping by a LOT!! Which means: more money and better models!!! 😁(and not having to scrounge or ask for help!) So with that said: going to be rebuilding the Macross Launch Arm Diorama: I'd like to take this one a bit beyond the original seen here; I just have to rebuild the bay/ wall plaque, and was thinking of lights and perhaps doing the bay out in full somehow. Any ideas, folks? (don't be shy!) In other news: the move is at the end of August, so in a few weeks, I won't be on here for a bit but we should be fully moved in by the 2nd week of September. After that, this and several new projects will be coming (along with resurrecting my airbrush!) Stay tuned...
