  1. What are you doing, Dave?
  2. And my wife is back in the hospital. 😭 Cancer is blocking her airway in her lung; talking surgery or radiation now. Going to go curl up in a corner and hide under every single blanket I can find.
  3. " The Galaxy is Calling Me"? Not familiar with that one; I'll have to watch it!
  4. Guess they wouldn't fold-in from Taco Bell then.
  5. Seto, I have a question about this, but it's a bit complicated to set up (and I'm probably overcomplicating it). Here goes... We've seen the Macross(SDF-1) in SDFM fold from a planet's surface to space and seen the Macross 7 fleet fold off of "Lux"/ "Rax" (saw both used for the planet's name) in Macross 7 Ep 38. In SFDM, it took Macross Island and part of the atmosphere/ ocean with them, while in M7, the planet was breaking up due to Gigile's "black space/ void" powers (so not sure if folding out did anything to the planet or the ship). But I've never seen in the series' for any of the Macross shows (admittedly I haven't seen every single episode of every single series) the consequences of a craft/ ship folding into a planet's atmosphere/ gravity well, and I think I missed the episodes with Operation Stargazer in them for M7. In Macross Plus, both Isamu and Guld apparently fold to just outside Earth orbit, outside of the orbital defense grid (I guess they have things in place to prevent someone from just folding in past it? ). My question is: are there any negative consequences of a craft/ ship folding inside a planet's gravity well/ atmosphere?
  6. Not quite sure if this is Star Trek or a cheap, half-arsed rip-off of Umbrella Academy.
  7. Thanks; I just told her! Cool! I especially needed them when I split the middle one! O.O
  8. Much appreciated! ❤️Although I had to fight them to release her: they argued that she "wouldn't recover at home", and I argued that she wasn't recovering there. After reviewing her charts and talking to the doctors involved, admin saw it our way and let her come home (where she has been recovering quite well).
  9. Looking REALLY good! One recommendation: use clothespins or some other kind of clip on the pylons while the glue dries: on mine, they kept trying to separate! O.o
  10. UPDATE: 1) Wife is finally home; however, her hemoglobin level is low (medical staff got in trouble for letting it get to that point; still talking with hospital admin over that) and she's taking time to recover. Playing things by ear ATM; building her levels back up slowly (so she doesn't go into shock). At least the house doesn't have that deafening silence that grasped it for nearly all of December. 2) Found this on ebay for a couple of bucks (and I had a coupon for free shipping from the holidays), but the wings were busted: The underside hinge was mangled (particularly on one side), so I had to repair those. Since it was beat to hell anyways, I did some... renovations: I decided to modify it to more closely resemble his smaller, regular Gobot counterpart: Comparison in robot mode: And for anyone wondering.... how Leader-1 compares to our favorite whining psycho- sycophant, G1 Starscream: Third: got the repair decals for the Weefit (thanks Thom!) and got her restored. I also finished painting and did a wash, although it didn't go quite as expected: Still some overly black areas to remove, but doing to much WILL remove paint (had to repaint it a couple of times already!), and trying to cover it with white looks like crap, so may have to just "live with those". Couple of more projects also were donated to me by some kind folks IRL who caught wind of my family's situation. I'll post those in a bit. Stay tuned...
  11. Mine did, both Convoy and Streak.
  12. About now, all of us can relate...
  13. NICE!! BTW: you can see the pre-shading on the craft, it's just a bit more subdued but I think that really works here! Looking really good here man!
  14. "More fun than Discovery"? So are: - root canals - kidney stones - endometriosis - 1,001 papercuts on your hands in a vinegar factory - AI video "Carbon Disco" (Star Trek) - A night time aircraft carrier landing in a storm at sea in 1964 flying an F-4 Phantom II - accidentally sitting on a cattle prod and triggering the device - listening to Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz as he recites bad poetry for nine hours straight
  15. Yeah; compared to the line art, they didn't even come close with the 17S in some places. The legs look like toothpicks and don't even look like they could have engines in them. They ought to listen to the M7 song Try Again....
  16. Frankly, they need to clean the fridge when it comes to ideas for Star Wars. Aside from Andor and S1 of The Mandalorian, I can't think of anything else good.
  17. Probably working on a new one as we speak...
  18. Ah... leg day, I see. :D
  19. Wake me when Mario takes on Gannondork using Kirby and Pac-Man...
  20. I have a similar, though slightly different issue: most times, the only kits I can afford are the older, more inaccurate ones (example: my version of the TOS Galactica). The challenge then becomes: how close can I get mine to the newest ones in terms of accuracy and detail. Most times I fall short, but I take it as a challenge to see if I can do with my materials what they did with theirs. Did this with CVAN-65, my 1/537 Refit Enterprise and my Ertl X-wing (1/43). Stuff needs hydraulic lines? Paper clips! I have a cockpit that needs better controls? Stretch some sprue and use my xacto knife to make buttons, then sand down the surfaces and spend 20 hours gluing buttons in place no one will see! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA(cough, sputter, wheeze!!!). Sorry...where was I? O.o
  21. Don't be too hard on yourself tekkering; resin is notorious for doing this crap! I had a resin Ambassador-class Enterprise in the 90's (before Ertl issues theirs) that no matter how long or how many times I soaked it in bleach and hot water and scrubbed until my fingers were sore, the paint would just slip right off after drying! Krylon, rustoleum, etc for primer, none of it made a difference! Even a couple of years ago with a resin mod kit for my Ertl-issue USS Reliant, the paint had issues and smelled like mold release after extensive scrubbing and soaking in harsh chemicals.
  22. Any progress on your projects, MT?
  23. the nice thing about hot melt glue is that if you need to remove it, a little 91 percent alcohol will help pop it off the plastic.
  24. Believe it or not, I used hot melt glue on my matchbox 3 3/4 inch Lisa/ Misa, Miria and Minmei figures:
