That could probably work, but I was sort of thinking more of modifying a game like battletech or heavy gear or something rules to fit more with the Front Mission. Although I’m not exactly the type to put that much effort into something like that and I don’t know that many people that actually bought in to these little guys. Personally I have two sets of volume one and two, and one of volume three and a preorder for volume four and the Raven

You may want to check. They sent both the kit and decals to me about a week ago. They both came in stock on the same day. It’s possible they didn’t get enough of the kits in or the order for the actual kit didn’t go through or hopefully everything is just fine and not showing properly

I would totally watch that in a heartbeat.

I’m always a bit worried with enamel paints on toys, since some plastics have issues like turning gummy or even cracking. Most of the hmr toys have been abs and probably wouldn’t have too many issues, but it’s a probably a personal paranoia

If you’re not costing it, a good acrylic thinned down with water will work. If you plan on coating it a lot of people like Flory’s since it washes away easy, but I find that if you don’t top coat the kit that it rubs away easily.

I never had the cash back in the day, but used to dream about how cool I thought these were

I forgot that they killed them off in Robotech. Didn’t they supposedly shove Misa into an escape pod in an off screen thing? It’s been so long since I’ve seen that version.

It’s too bad that there’s not really a company that hits the middle ground between Hasegawa’s way too shallow and thin panels and Bandai’s too wide panels. But looks like you did a good job there.

I like the sitting figures. They have that over relaxed 80’s gossip girl look just right

Sally Robot Tek sounds like a mistranslation of an apology to harmony gold.

Maybe a third. These are really small kits. Maybe small enough to use for a tabletop game. They come in four packs, but are way more detailed than something like an average gundam kit. Just not as simple. I do like that most of the rifles are one piece

The box art on these are almost non existent. They just have black and white line art that’s more basic diagram style. If I get a chance later I can take pics of those, but I really think they were trying to save money by only giving the little kits as four packs and didn’t bother paying someone to do anything fancy. So far it seams that these all pose extremely well and far beyond what I expected. Out of set one the drake was the only one that has any issues with mobility, but that’s because of the pointy armor around the legs and the foot . It still poses pretty good though. It’s the first time in a long time that I needed tweezers for building a model and have had to use them on all four of them

A bit of a teaser for the Front mission structure arts kits I’ve been working on. Some super tiny parts on the chest with the lights in the front of the chest. Almost done with the first set as far as assembly and cleanups, hopefully will get the painting soon

Finally got around to taking pictures of the female knight of asperity. They pose the same as the female knight of accord, just they are more spiky and evil looking

Thank goodness it wasn’t canceled like so many other animated projects lately. Honestly I think it might actually be the best marvel tv show

I was just checking after getting the name here. Yeah, the old one didn’t have a jet pack .I remember the name was customizable, but I guess the branch as well. And never knew that would be a slight factor in how the toy actually looked depending on the release. It seems there were a few variations using different parts.

I just got my first one from hlj the other day and was taking a look at things. Looks like they really did a good job at minimizing seam lines. It has far fewer spots than I was expecting. The box is really loaded with parts. I’ll be building this one after I get my other two from bbts

I had one as a kid and couldn’t even remember the name. I do remember a long wait and being super excited when it came. I think that one had a custom some like name card maybe. I remember the figure and remember waiting a long time for delivery, but the rest is a bit fuzzy. I think it came with a basic backpack, but not a jet pack, but maybe I’m wrong

I remember seeing a few previews for it, but hadn’t heard anything after that. I thought it was canceled or something, didn’t realize it was on sci fi. Is it steaming somewhere?
-
I heard rumors of its existence, but it’s like hearing about Bigfoot, with sightings few and far between and from less than trustworthy sources
-
I may be remembering things wrong since I’m old, but was the guy with a jet pack a mail in item back in the old days?

My style has changed a lot since those older kits. I wasn’t as good at getting rid of seams, didn’t have an airbrush and didn’t know how to get rid of the edges of decals. I also had a very different method for sensors, it was kinda fun digging out those guys and have copies of a couple or like in the case of the Hyaku Shiki, the new version to work on to see a difference in how I do things now.

I haven’t had that problem since I started using gloss coat before the application. When I had a slightly dull surface though, I used to either scrap the decal by sanding it down and replacing it. But I did find that mixing the base color with clear and spraying it over the decal sometimes worked pretty well at hiding the silvering. There’s also the difficult method of masking the decal and just spraying the color over it or if you have super steady hands, there the xacto method where you lightly follow the outline of the markings and carefully peel away the bit that’s damaged, but I’ve never really been successful at that one. Hopefully, you find a method that works for you. Either way they are tiny blemishes on a fantastic build. Great job and can’t wait to see your next project

The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post
Big s replied to Shawn's topic in Model kits
That’s actually pretty neat
