  1. I don’t know, that first season kinda weirds me out. The manga she totally fits with the other characters, but that first season of the show she’s just wandering around demanding to be taken seriously, but the only person in a thong. Doesn’t even matter the situation. She could be on the street or in a business office or at the prime minister’s building just the only person in a thong. The second part of the show put pants on and it kinda felt more in line with the universe, but nothing against hot ladies in thongs, but it just seems really weird to have one random lady in charge of things with just a thong and a short coat demanding respect
  2. The scantily clad ladies were really his thing. Even when it doesn’t fit the backdrop. I absolutely appreciate his work, but definitely makes you wonder if he actually watched the show or saw much of the preproduction stuff and then just started sketching from memory or what. I’ll have to search for some interviews or something and try and find out what led to his interpretations
  3. Honestly, there’s nothing boy one actor out there that I think could replace Kurt Russell and that’s Wyat Russell. He doesn’t necessarily always get great roles, but I think he has the looks and could pull it off. I wouldn’t mind him playing Snake’s son in a wild post apocalyptic movie since they pretty much reset the world at the end of the last movie
  4. They’re really all great new albums from the past year, they’ll especially hit well in the hard rock and metal categories without being on the extreme side of things. Definitely worth checking out if you like things less basic
  5. One of mine as well and while those were great fantasy works, I think what sticks in my mind as far as Sci fi is his stuff for Battlestar Galactica. I don’t know if he really had seen any of it before doing his works or if it was just someone describing things of the show to him and he did the promo art. I had seen some in old tv schedule article collections years ago and loved them, even though they didn’t seem quite like how things ended up on screen
  6. Sometimes you gotta take matters in your own hands. It’s always good for a kid to set life goals at an early stage
  7. Pretty sure they will ignore whatever they feel like. Similar to how Star Wars picks and chooses from odd media
  8. Don’t forget odd stage plays that nobody cares about that will fill in the gaps
  9. Anybody else have a favorites list for the past year, something new they found or something from established artists that are still hanging in there?
  10. It’s definitely the biggest show from the early streaming generation and probably in the tops for shows of this millennium so far, at least as far as popularity. I doubt they can leave it untouched. It’s gonna get spin off stuff and sequels and maybe some other newer generation of nostalgia will hit in a few decades. Nostalgia is kind of an odd one where certain decades are remembered for being more fun or innocent. Like a lot of things like the 50’s because there was the dream that post war was calm and building to a future, but then the 60’s seemed to eventually crush that simplistic dream with all the reality that was happening. Then the 70’s tends to be remembered mostly as a rebuilding era and blandness, while the 80’s kinda gets remembered for simple times again and consumer products and shows, while the 90’s get tough again because everyone sees it as what killed the cool of the 80’s. The 2000’s and 2010’s unfortunately get tied together too much and are tough to separate and everyone just thinks of it as the true rise of social media. And the 2020’s so far is the decade that started off with dark times and lockdowns, hopefully the rest of the decade will wash those dark memories away. But who knows what people ten to twenty or even further down the line may find entertaining about certain decades and wether nostalgia will be so centered or if the idea of something in the now will be more interesting? I don’t know if people will be as interested in a Stranger Things in the pager age, or maybe the age where kids don’t even care what a walkie talkie is because they have cell phones.
  11. I actually saw this video the other day. I think it’s definitely more for entertainment value than practicality
  12. Looks great, can’t wait to eventually get mine. One day. Maybe in a few years
  13. Maybe get a cheap kit for practice, like those entry grade gundam kits. Might be a good start and get your confidence up and they don’t really cost much in case something goes wrong. And even if something does go wrong, make sure to learn what went wrong. And most of all try and have fun
  14. I have a tough time watching that one at home. It just doesn’t hold up. But if it had a 3D rerelease, I would consider it. It’s one of the most immersive and best use of that technology for film making and such a shame that so much of the feel is lost when it goes into 2D
  15. Recent Moderoid kits are very simple and require very little in the skills department. As long as you got something to clip out the parts and smooth the nubs, then you can succeed
  16. If I were to pick one over the other, I’d definitely pick plus. I like the details and the attention to action. You really get to see what’s happening. 2 does things so quick that you don’t really get to see much as far as details and things that seem cool are off screen in seconds if not milliseconds. although, I’d definitely pick 2 over most later macross stuff
  17. With how rough it’s becoming for the average hobbyist, maybe we should start a thread to explain the different issues with certain sites and where the best spots for preordering and best spots for shipping or lowest costs overall kind of discussions for our favorite models. Like some just won’t offer Bandai kits while a place like Hlj might not get a guaranteed amount in their shipments or how some items won’t be available to people in the U.S. and options for finding those.
  18. They are mostly focused on the 1/35 kits, but I’m pretty sure we’ll see more 1/24. Keep in mind that they are a slower company and even with 1/35 they usually don’t do more than one or two kits a year. There’s also the Plamax kits in that scale as well, so I think that so far they are trying not to step on each others toes, but I’d say it might be a little bit of a wait for the next larger kit release from either company
  19. Oddly there is a YouTube guy that immigrated from Britain to the U.S. that has a YouTube channel called Lost in the Pond where he talks about the differences he’s noticed from both countries over the years and recently did a video of name changes of movies from the USA to England when they pop up overseas. It was the first time I ever heard there was a different Dennis the Menace comic on that side of the pond. He didn’t really have time to go over every movie or anything, just the ones he could remember off hand for the most part. Fun little channel for fun useless information
  20. Some mostly earlier kits used stickers, but most of the recent ones have pre painted pats and waterslide decals for markings. Am currently doing the Tekkaman Blade kit and it does have two and only two almost unnoticeable parts that are not in their proper colors on the back of the heal. Other than that it’s perfect color accuracy with pre painted metallic eyes and one part that is prepainted red for color accuracy. Basically if you’re a lazy builder and just want to slap the thing together, you’ll do better than a Bandai kit. Articulation is pretty great as well. With the Mospeada kits, it does list markings with waterslide decals, something extremely rare in Bandai kits and pre painted faces. And don’t forget to check out the hand details, because they even did the stitching on the gloves, and extra hands, something Bandai tends to forget about sometimes. I don’t doubt there will be a few details here and there that could use a bit of work, but I don’t think it would be too much or even highly noticeable
  21. Taco Tia time
  22. Basically how I feel. Good ending not perfect , leave some room for a few things if they sector explore them. There’s a Nancy Wheeler set of novels popping up similar to Nancy Drew mysteries, that I’ll probably never read
  23. I find that that happens more with duller surfaces. Like the gloss colors are already wet looking and don’t really change, but sometimes the duller ones darken similar to when using pigments. I also see it more with acrylic and enamel glosses and not quite as much with lacquer
