  1. I haven’t seen it. The guy that makes it basically does every movie in an odd quirky way and I’ve always finished them not knowing if I liked the movie or not. So I kinda skipped this one waiting to see if anyone had a different opinion, but most people just haven’t seen it
  2. I never really cared for the last reboot. It’s probably because I used to watch the old version so much as a kid and would love to sit down for after school meals while it was in syndication. The reboot just seemed a bit too much, they also took every body’s favorite character and turned him into a her and I wasn’t really into the humanization of the cylons either. I probably would have liked it if I hadn’t grown up with the original series though. Hopefully this is a reboot that is closer to the older show and has better looking effects
  3. I’m ok with them taking a little time between releases. That way maybe I can get through my backlog a bit and give them time to get things right. I had a question for anyone here about the gunpod color. Bandai seems to make them greyish or blue grey, but almost all the toys before this year have had them in the same darker blue as the body. I tried doing a quick google search and at best I get black and white line art . Even the clips I searched on YouTube didn’t seem to show the gunpod. Or didn’t show them well enough to tell the color. I haven’t busted out the dvd to check yet though, but I still have those boxed away for now.
  4. I think the brown would actually look great since it’s gonna be almost white. The black would be a bit dark and kinda gives a more obvious “I preshaded it” kinda look, where the warmer brown could give it a more subtle yet still noticeable look
  5. At this point, I don’t even know how to spell her name anymore. Robotech has it as Mirya, most of the translations til recently had it either as Milia or Millia, and most of the recent Hasegawa models have it as Miria
  6. I miss those lava pies. I hear rumor that there’s still a McDonald’s somewhere on the Hawaiian islands that still serves them. I’ve also heard that Jolie bee serves a mango flavored one that is fried and other than the filling still tastes like the old McDonald’s ones. Unfortunately, I don’t live very close to either so I guess I might have to settle with Madame Web. But I’ll probably just skip it
  7. I think the creepy factor is the selling point though. I’m sure the hands are removable, since it’s a Kotobukiya kit, but then you don’t get that horror kinda thing going on
  8. I honestly don’t think anyone would put a someone convicted of the crimes that Kingpin was in trouble for in the ticket in the first place, let alone the things that he had done that to others would have been heavily rumored about. And I do think there are some here that have gotten pretty far having certain allegations against them, they were running major criminal organizations and having murder accusations thrown around about them. But like I said earlier, it depends on how much this is sticking to the events of the Netflix stuff.
  9. I’d definitely take that over what we got. It was a lame ending and something tired would’ve been better than what we got. And I’d give credit to someone that could’ve given us something original, if they knew how to write something original that wasn’t stupid. It’s a superhero show that tries to give an emotional ending, that isn’t very emotional and tries to give it to a character that doesn’t deserve that kind of forgiveness. He basically killed her father and turned her into a weapon and then tries to murder her family and the entire town. Hero tropes may be tropes and can be overplayed, but it works more often than I’d doesn’t. That’s why people try to make comic book and sci fi hero adaptations. And that’s why we don’t get many stories where we just make the big badguy cry and then just go home and then go back to being the big bad guy in the next show. How many times do we have to watch Batman either kill off a badguy or send them to an asylum or jail? obviously a lot. That doesn’t make Batman a bad story. It might be same old same old, but it works. Batman making the Joker have feelings for a couple of days after setting him free , even though he just finished a murder spree and killed Robin doesn’t
  10. I preordered one set through hlj and I think the other two were bbts, but it might’ve been USA gundam store. Either way it’s gonna be a three month wait on those other two. I don’t know why I bother with hlj if I’m just gonna order the rest from a U.S. store. I think I just get overly excited to see something I’ve been wanting for a few decades.
  11. Finally finished Echoe. It started out good, but the ending was a huge letdown. It was such a short show that you’d think that they didn’t have much to write for, but wrote one of the lamest endings possible. I think the problem was keeping Fisk as the big bad and main bad of the show. I think it might’ve been better to have kept him in the shadows letting everyone believe he was still dead. They could’ve set up a much cooler assassin type character that needed to be handled or even one that had also been manipulated by Fisk that could’ve been shown the truth by Echoe.
  12. My lady loves the walking dead. She’s waiting for all the shows to finish and then add the amc subscription to binge them all. I’m personally not into them and she watches them while I’m asleep. It’s really weird to be woken up by constant zombie moans.
  13. I’m pretty sure that’s what they were going for. But it’s the way that the hands look lifeless and just flopped back that creeps me out.
  14. Oh be honest, you’ll give a damn. You’re gonna be on the front porch in a rocking chair complaining about how kids these days don’t get it. And saying things about how they’re always complaining on x and how back in your day, it was all about going on twitter and tweeting about 40 year old shows and toys based on those shows. Then they’ll ask “What’s Twitter?”. And you’ll tell them that it’s none of their damned business!!! Eventually you’ll log back in here and see that some oddball company finally did those plain clothes Mospeada action figures. Then you’re gonna put on those old man glasses and take a closer look and then realize they got the proportions all wrong. Then a little tear will come down your cheek and as you realize that we’re all here probably complaining about the same things and wondering if it will be another ten years before someone gets it right.

    Arcadia VF-5000G

I think it’s a mix of issues. Bandai is a more popular brand for one. Sometimes even if another company puts out a similar but superior product, the Bandai will be more popular. That goes for kits and toys of a variety of franchises. The Bandai products are often newer even on rereleases. Arcadia is still mostly putting out Yamato products with slight updates and a different paint. Bandai has done the same with hmr, but that’s only for the vf-1 and those still weren’t as old as most of what Arcadia is usually rereleasing. Something like the vf-500 is new and Arcadia should be able to get some more sales because of it, but on the other side it’s not a popular design. Actually it’s kind of an obscure design. If someone were to go nuts over another og dx Valkyrie, it would be more understandable versus a design that has been hiding in the background. Gundam is an example of that. If Bandai were to put out a product of a main gundam from a show, it would be more popular than something like an oddball gm variant from a couple episodes.
  16. To be honest, the decals would really be the part to worry about. Most of the time those get produced far less than the kits themselves. In a perfect world Bandai would grow up and just include the like they did with the starwars kits. Unfortunately for those that haven’t been charged yet, it more than likely is on back order, but I’d wait to see after Monday to be sure. Then there’s the option of waiting for the next batch or procuring them from other sources.
  17. Definitely a cool project
  18. I don’t think the vf-1 would have the same knee gaps. The 19 had a weird angled shape and odd folding gimmick that I don’t think we’d see on the og
  19. It’s definitely a wwm release. A lot of American stores still have it up for preorder. Just that it might be more of a gamble getting one from certain Japanese sites that may have oversold or that Bandai short changed them
  20. I wouldn’t exactly call the wave kits perfect. They’re pretty cool, don’t get me wrong but there’s definitely a bit of room for improvement. The legs could get a bit more articulation. And the body has a bit of a chunkiness going on. The stripes on the chest look a bit too straight. But overall not bad. Wave did just do a rerelease of the VF-1 super A and S with decals for Max, Hikaru and Roy. Not sure if they included Kakizaki though
  21. Is that the old Arii kit? as much as I want a hg 1/100 vf-1 , I’m worried about the difficulty getting one. So far I’ve had no problems getting them from hlj, but I see above that others are still having bad luck. At least with the other Macross series like Plus and Frimtier and Delta etc then you can easily get one from pretty much any local hobby shop. But since the og Macross stuff still has embargo going, and it’s the most popular, I’m worried about getting any. Hlj usually only allows one per customer and they’re the only ones in Japan that seem to allow preorders. I usually order three of each with the intention that I will display all three modes together.I usually get my other copies from somewhere like bbts or USA gundam store. That’s definitely gonna be a major problem with the VF-1. Then there the possibility of web exclusive variants or accessories that means a much bigger problem since the U.S. store won’t have them.
  22. Just got notification that my YF-21 and decals are in stock at hlj
  23. It does, but even then the legs are jiggly and sometimes just plop out of socket. The fighter is awkward since if it has the payload on the wings , they kind sag a bit too. It’s a very awkward model as far as stability, but doesn’t look too bad if you can figure out better ways to display it.
