  1. It ain’t gundam without a slap to the face. Maybe Chris Rock should have been a mobile suit pilot. I know that joke is over used, but then again so are gundam slaps
  2. I get the feeling some one that works high up at good smile loves great robots and mecha and really doesn’t care if the design or show was super popular and just wants a model kit one way or the other.
  3. All these gundam releases seem really dull compared to the upcoming stuff from MaxFactory and Goodsmile
  4. They do the best they can. The 1/60 toys usually look better in fighter and the Bandai ones in hmr and dx look a bit better in battroid, but they still don’t get quite there, the dx toys look a bit boxy to me. It always seems like there’s a compromise in the looks between either having a great fighter mode or a great battroid mode and the transformation gimmick never gets both right due mostly to old style hand drawn anime. That’s the main reason I would prefer the idea of separate kits for all 3 modes. The hasegawa 1/72 did a good job, but they were trying to be more realistic and consistent between the modes and I think the battroid could have been better. Max factory seems to love anime robots and I think if they do a battroid it will at least look cool, as far as articulation, who knows.
  5. It’s up for preorder for those interested. I’m gonna wait and see on this one. The description mentions stickers and that’s a big downside for me. But I’ll see how the reviews go
  6. I honestly don’t think the vf1 is the best subject for a transforming kit. There’s too many compromises that have to be made. I’d be far happier with really great kits of all 3 modes sold separately or as a pack. although if someone could prove me wrong and make a perfect transformation kit with perfect looks, I’d be interested
  7. I’m very curious about a potential battroid mode. If they can do a more pose able Ann’s better looking one than hasegawa, then I’m all in. A gerwalk would also be highly appreciated. not saying hasegawa is bad, just a bit outdated and the battroid could use some work. They really did a great job of looking very consistent between fighter and battroid, but the realism sacrificed articulation and ease of build. The anime lacks realism and the way Bandai did the hmr wings on the later vf1 was more anime accurate and added to the articulation around the hip in a much more natural way. I really can’t wait to see how their line turns out or if this is just a one off.
  8. Brain powered is nice especially since it’s more than just the main unit, and they also already did Escaflowne. Maybe new gasaraki kits sometime soon
  9. That skull 0 looks a bit low tech compared to the other Valkyries that Roy used
  10. I would hope there’s more. It may not have been the best main story, but probably the best origin story ever and after the end credits, I’m very interested in the thirds origin. Like if it was so traumatic that the second happened, what kind of horrible events brought the third into existence.
  11. I’d love a heavy metal show. The first movie was so good and cheesy and fun
  12. I still haven’t watched much of the old show. When I had cable there was an hbo preview weekend that had the first season and a bunch of co workers were further along telling me I needed to see it . Watched a couple episodes and thought it was more like renaissance themed porn. My coworkers told me it gets better in the next season. Then everyone was saying the last season was crap and ruined the show entirely and that’s all they would say. Now I have hbo max and still haven’t watched it. I guess it’s tough for me to try a show that started out bad and everyone says ends bad
  13. I don’t think you really need a lot as far as painting skills on this one. Most of the parts are pre colored and pre painted. And there are decals for the rest. You could get away with a slapping it together and maybe just do some very basic weathering.
  14. Is it like a forced perspective project ?
  15. I’m so far in my backlog that I haven’t done much with my ed 209. So far it’s the biggest moderoid box that I have and completely dwarfs any of my obsolete kits
  16. I gotta agree about the wb. And you’re only talking movies. Just imagine a horrible cw bat woman style show. We’re only making fun of a few cosplay looking characters, then it would be the cast of every show.
  17. I think it was $12 for the basic blank and like $10 or so for the option sets. Since the Knight was already set up with armor and stuff she was about $25. These are very small figures with the emphasis on customization and being able to pose really well. Bbts has some exclusives like a red male Knight coming up and if I’m not mistaken the red skeleton is also exclusive. I can’t remember if it was a red skeleton or one of the other colors though. I really just discovered this line and for the size and detail, and the fact that you can customize them, they’re worth the price. I’d say if you’re interested at all check them out and you probably won’t regret it
  18. Just got a horse to go with the Knight and it’s very articulated as well, but when adding armor and a figure on top of it the joints lose stability. It does have a bit of a wonky stand and the armor is a bit tough to figure out since there are no instructions with this line. Had to check YouTube and found out a blow dryer works for stretching the belt around the waist that seems to be too small. Once it’s stretched and dipped in cold water it holds the new shape. Overall the horse isn’t necessary and a bit pricey after the armor is added, but it looks cool
  19. I didn’t see a topic for this toy line yet, so after very recently finding out it exists I picked up this little skeleton blank since I like skeletons and it was cheapthen since it was a fun little 1/18 figure I decided to pick up some options for it and do a little dress upit does have a bit of a struggle since the little guy is so thin and I think I just overloaded him making a super childish cross between a dark mage and grim reaper, but I still had fun doing it. I then went on the bbts site and checked out what else they had and I saw some knights, but most of the guys were sold out or were on preorder or sold in a pack with others I didn’t care to buy. I really do like medieval fantasy stuff as well as the usual sci-fi mecha stuff, so I ordered the female Knight of Accord. No relation to the car, but a very fun little figure and totally worth the $25 bucks. Not quite the prettiest face though, but she had 2 different helmets included, extra hands a pole weapon that can be converted into a halberd or a spear, a sword and sheath and a shield. the joints are surprisingly tough and for the size can do just about anything. The tiny writs can even tilt up or down to make cool stabby poses. the armor is mostly a very soft flexible rubber, so it doesn’t get in the way and surprisingly for a female figure is non sexualized other than her super bodacious bootythere’s also connection point for future attachments and a lot of the armor can be removed for customization
  20. I don’t know how anyone can keep a secret lair using a car that looks like a drug fueled rave on wheels
