Nice mods. It looks great now. I remember not being highly impressed with the look of these way back when they first came out and glad you were able to upgrade them so well

I didn’t think we’d ever see a “Dana” in the first place. But there’s always a slim possibility. If they actually produce it, I’ll wait the three or ten years since nobody else has tried since the 80’s. Of course if a better company picked up the idea I’d immediately cancel a preorder.

Yes, when they took them to space, they definitely looked a bit better than the sentinels version above, but not by a lot

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

I was thinking about the sh version honestly. I kinda want to see how the face looks up close before I spend the cash. At least on those I can actually check out the figure when I hold the box -

I’ll probably just skip hasbro till they figure things out. I guess they’re giving duties to other companies to handle their franchises like Mcfarlane and a couple others. Maybe one of them will eventually give me what I want or Hasbro could just learn that people don’t like their packaging -
I think that would make people search others out, and the vacation people seemed more generous about others for the most part than the home field people in the film. That sounds like a Black Friday event. People tend to be more agitated with companies and businesses than neighbors. with us the local market actually got crushed and the only store was a gas station that already didn’t have much. No riots or anything here but those riots were for a different thing with people being angered over a situation. The movie didn’t really have an obvious agitating situation like those that caused the riot. I just think without digital communication of any type that people would check on neighbors to see what was happening. I don’t think the country would just nuke itself in a couple days

Leave the world behind seemed a bit too far fetched for me. It had a great cast but things felt a bit overly stereotypical. It was kinda one of those concept movies like the Purge that the concept is so awkward that I have a hard time getting into. It seemed like things devolved way too quickly. It’s also a bit hard to believe that there are that many teslas around to block the streets, but then again it could’ve taken less. I guess that the major reason these things don’t work for me is that people are much more helpful than given credit. Anyone that has actually lived through an emergency situation will have many stories about neighbors coming together to help eachother. Last year we only had a minor emergency situation where the communities up here were snowed in for two weeks. I met more of my neighbors during that time than I have my entire life. We had elderly neighbors that couldn’t get out of their homes to go to the stores and we all checked up on them and walked to get what we could find for them. There were times where I was just trying to dig out the drive area for the cars and we hadn’t seen a plow during that time, but random neighbors I had never met grabbed shovels to help us out and we did the same for others in our neighborhood. And these kinds of stories are things you hear about all over the world, whether it’s a fire or earthquake or tropical storm or even a war. Although I could see things devolving if it were over longer periods of time. This movie just had everything devolve practically overnight. I could see things kinda getting like Mad Max where in the first film things were rough, then the next one that seemed to be after a certain time things got even worse. But this movie had things go bad by day 3

That’s if it actually comes out in January. There’s a lot of toy delays lately and I wouldn’t doubt that this comes out a bit later than scheduled

I really hate the packaging on these. It’s the biggest reason that I haven’t been interested in Hasbro stuff. I might get a couple figures if I really like them, but I don’t really have shelf space and it would be cool to just hang a few on the wall in box, but I can’t see the actual figures in these boxes so there really isn’t a point to it. -
We live in an age where Mad ox 01 and the movie version of the Queadluun Rau and even an ED 209 finally got model kits, I think it’s only a matter of time before one of these kit companies tries for BGC

I saw him at New Year’s Eve Ozzfest 2018 going into 2019. He can really jump around for an older dude. He’s also pretty funny with his between song banter

I kinda get the feeling that it may not be long before Aoshima revisits the franchise or that Moderoid picking up every classic license possible may give us something. It is too bad the figma stuff never happened though

At least her lightsabers worked unlike the ones in modern Star Wars. I still think it would’ve been cooler to swap her for the spider lady.

I just finished it, and that really is my biggest complaint about the movie. It’s really way over used and like you said, not even appropriately. It’s like he rewatched 300 and remembered he had an idea people liked decades ago and forgot that people got tired of it pretty quickly. The movie had some great looking action sequences that would’ve been amazing at normal speed without the slowdown, but with it, it makes every battle tedious and I couldn’t wait for the action scenes to be done. Action scenes aside, I think I could have actually liked the movie for the most part, especially if they tweaked the story just a bit. Things are so cliche that they feel way too obvious as to what’s coming next and nothing is surprising, and some things are just disappointing. It felt like everyone just joined up way too easily. like there’s a guy that everyone is warned won’t give them a chance to explain things and would just kill them if they tried, but after a quick nudge he’s their best buddy or something. There are also entire scenes that just seem to happen and you get the “we’re already there “ kinda feel. There’s also an extraordinary push for the “strong female character” thing with most of the male characters being evil or killed off easily or being useless or even though they have a lot of muscle they can’t throw a punch to save their lives or just getting molested. Honestly, that farmer should have just stayed home, there really was no reason for him to even go along he really added nothing and just gets in the way Overall since it does do some things right and a few things wrong I think it’s worth a watch, especially if you already have Netflix and you don’t have to buy a ticket. It’s sort of a Warhammer 40k mixed with Star Wars kinda theme and those comparisons are extremely obvious. It at least is better than most of the newer Star Wars stuff

Bandai does tend to overdo the markings with Macross and Gundamhigh end stuff, but on a toy it usually leaves the option to remove those markings or lines if someone wants to or not. I tend to do mostly kits and the waterslide packs that do come out are unfortunately more heavy on generic caution markings than emblem or number and alphabet decals in the proper font or size. At least the toy is marked up with everything needed and people can customize their toy by removing markings or panel lining them and even customizing them how they want. If you paid the cash it’s yours to do what you want or enjoy the item as is.

It’s weird cause I almost never fall asleep during movies, especially action films, but something about that slow motion thing just made me drowsy. Like they found a way to make energetic action scenes slow and tedious. I think I’d be more awake if there was a cut of this film that had a continuous speed and it would probably cut thirty minutes from the run time. The story didn’t seem bad, mostly cliched and awkwardly rushed but not dull.

I got halfway through Rebel moon and fell asleep around the point where it was showing the little girl being guarded by the main character. So it’s not terrible or anything, but the slow mo is way way overdone and every time something starts to happen, the brakes are put on and it made me feel really tired. Like said above, the spider lady should have been a cool ally type character. I’ll try a finish this off tomorrow

When the model doesn’t come with what you need, sometimes you just gotta make do with what you got on hand. If you hadn’t pointed it out, I might has e actually thought that was an included pilot figure for Ken. It’s more obvious once pointed out when I saw a bottom to the helmet but like I said above, I didn’t notice until it was mentioned
