Someone else brought that one up maybe in another thread. I love the intro to that show and the little magnet guys were neat. I only had a few but really wanted more back then

Not gonna lie, they do look pretty cool. They actually look far better than they deserve to be.

I personally love the older stuff. It had more of an elegant style and you could tell easily what you were looking at. The new stuff just has a junky thrown together look that I just can’t get into. It kinda reminds me of Bayformers with spikey bits
-
Yeah, the Hasegawa has some surprisingly beefy fingers compared to pretty much everything that’s come before. There’s a lot that Hasegawa did right, but it would be great if like you said they used it as a bench mark. I’m sure Bandai will have somewhat better articulation and if they improve their sculpt I’d be all in

This is one of those ugly designs that it’s hard to tell what you’re looking at. It just looks like an odd pile of spikey junk

I’m just hoping it’s still just an early prototype. There’s definitely something there, but it really needs refinement. I really hate those tiny hands
-
I’m in the same boat there. Space is also a bit of a factor, but yeah price is crazy $300 bucks is $200 bucks more than I want to spend on a toy, but even though I try to make exceptions, that price is still way too high
-
I’ve noticed that as well. The 1/6th thing is mostly for the rich kids these days and the 1/12thing is starting to get up there as well. Even a lot of 1/18th figures are up there these days. Toys are expensive these days
-
I don’t know if it’s the added color or just the angle, but the arms have a thicker look now. There’s a few minor details that are off, but so far it looks really great. If it weren’t so expensive I’d definitely buy at least one, but I’ll settle for the hg kit.

Definitely a classic. Black Sabbath probably is my most played band while listening to music, whether it’s the Ozzy era or the Dio stuff. I did also like some of the Tony Martin stuff on the Tyr album, but I can’t find that streaming anywhere and my tape wore out a couple decades ago
-
That’s kinda what I figured this would be. Snyder is very miss with a couple hits kinda guy. Most of his projects are meh at best and cringy bad like his dc stuff, so I really didn’t expect much out of this

This looks like a very entertaining project. Personally I’m not big on the Hot toys prices either. They are usually pretty great looking, but I never have the cash for them

I just hope they make some changes before it comes out. The missile pods are awkwardly upturned kinda like the Yamato mistakes and the front of the leg armor isn’t open high enough at the ankle area and I really hate the hands. The little armor bits around the waist seem like they’re shaped wrong as well. I probably wouldn’t be so nitpicky, but that hasegawa kit looks amazing.

After reading the short story long, it seems like a disassembly and cleaning of the parts
-
Gonna do a double build? I still have a soft spot for the ancient tv version of the Queadluun Rau kit. It’s surprisingly well articulated and has a lot of detail on the outside. It’s not perfect, but it’s one of the best early 80’s mecha kits ever made
-
Never trust that anyone saying this really means it
-
You could try sanding it down at the corners to make it less noticeable
-
Sorry it’s a bit late, but you could try mixing white with clear and it should lighten up the paint job. It may lighten the decals as well though

if only these Macross items were made. unproduced and never made stuff 1982-1985

I’d have loved these. I loved the little Glaug and the Regults looked great for the size. Wasn’t there also a tease for the monster? Can’t remember for sure, but I think there was. Imai did do a nice little one for the time, but more monsters more better -
So I just saw the 1-A up at bbts. I don’t remember, but were any of the others available there or anywhere else stateside. It’s been a while since I’ve seen an OG Macross(non Robotech) item at a stateside store. I haven’t seen Hasegawa kits for a bit and thought it was interesting that this was there in these days of odd Macross rules

I really only ordered the YF-19 and 21 with a set of decals for each from hlj. The 21 hasn’t come in yet, but I got my 19 set right away. My other 19 sets came from I think bbts, but it might have been a different US store and it seems I got those before some people got theirs fro hlj even though it was about 3 months later when those came in. I think that you either have to be in a rush or not caring when they come in that hlj might be worth the gamble. They from my understanding still fulfilled their orders even though it was on a second run from Bandai. I trust hlj, and I think this probably is more a Bandai issue but I wouldn’t count on a first run unless your quick on that preorder
-
That’s a great kit and a pretty good size as well. Have fun

Just saw that it’s up for preorder at the usual places

That’s a rather overpowered setup. Not only is he super armored, but he can crush everyone else’s armor. He could basically crush Wolverine just enough to where it makes an inescapable torture while he constantly heals yet can’t break free and has to endure that pain for the rest of his existence
