1. Having never read the book I think it looks very promising. Might have to read the book sometime now too, just to see the difference.
2. I couldn't help myself, I watched it... AWESOME! The interior shots did not look cheesy at all, characters were interesting, and the plot hooked me in right away. Why can't Syfy try for this level of show all the time? [edit] Other then the budget, surely they could try a little harder on their cheeper creepers...
3. I am happy it is coming out, but I'm going to wait for it on TV (and then watch the DVD). I really HATE watching a show in 10 minute chunks and then needing to click another link to get the next one going - commercials are bad enough (and these 10 minute chunks ARE going to have commercials too)
4. I like the ships, they look Gamilon like, although the carrier still looks nothing like the one around the Earth. One thing I disliked from the original show was that the first Gamilon ships we see are alien looking but later ships look more like the Earth ships (especially the carrier), these seem to keep more of the Gamilon asthetic. I wonder when we get to see the "Space Stuka" redesign.
5. AND no Amidala... [oops, she was an elected queen, but is there an elected Princess, and where did George come up with such piffal as an elected queen?]
6. No problem, if you would have said "Best" instead of "biggest", then there would have been a problem...
7. Hadn't thought about that possability. That would be nice. As for the series perhaps descending to mediocrity - the prequals already did that...
8. Even better - they are wisely ignoring "Conan the Destroyer".
9. The most exciting move I ever saw was "Apollo 13", and I knew exactly how that would turn out. Ron Howard and Tom Hanks were at the top of their game with that movie though. Have not seen Argo (and probably will not till it comes out on DVD since the wife is out of work now)
10. I'm guessing, just guessing, but I think the CGI effects did not end up as desired for the bridge and other interior shots (the CGI in Sanctuary always looked a bit dodgy and I thought the same company did them, mixing that with the detail that existed in the BSG bridge shot and it spells disaster). Then again, crappy CGI has never been an impediment to SyFy in the past...
11. I'm the opposite, the more I see the less I like it (the movie that is, I could not be any less impressed with the suit then the first time I saw it)
12. They don't anymore. The feds ruled that ANY suppressor is illegal without at least a special permit. Local fields around here don't even allow you to bring them on the field any longer (PA, NJ, MD). I had a suppressor and a barrel extenender for my old PMI-68 magnum. I put them on before the game to psych out the newbies, took them off during the game since they actually made the gun shoot worse and broke balls like crazy.
13. First thing I noticed in the Blue Ray preview is the girl - was she Gantz's daughter? (Pluto Base commander, I probably used the wrong name). If it is, and the Yamato crew have to make a moral decision regarding civilians then this show could go from excellent to wicked gnarly (I'm stuck in the eighties you see)
14. Yeah, "Dagon's Dragon" was FAR scarier then Event Horizon (and no, I'm not kidding - but most of the episodes, as discussed in another thread, are pretty wooden and suffer from seventies scifi syndrome) Lovely model!
15. I don't remember that line, is that from this season's first episode or a different one?
16. That didn't bother me, perhaps it should have, but the idea that Spock could see Vulcan be destroyed - without any technological help - from a star system away (say a light year at least) less then a day after it occurs is interesting to say the least. In the theater the Lense Flare actually hurt my eyes - the last time a movie made me slightly ill like that was Dick Tracy with all the primary colors. (Batman and Robin only gets a pass on this since I did not see it in the theater, but even on the small screen that one made me quesy)
17. It doesn't even have to be quite as good - as long as he tones down the lense flare...
18. I like both episodes so far, and next week's looks promising as well. Dalek chick - I don't think you have the correct person, it was from the first episode this season. Wasn't the red dress lady in a cyberman episode, christmas special if I remember correctly. The two robots from "Snakes on" er make that "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship". Are they based on a comedy team in the UK?
19. I guess we just have different definitions of anatomically implausible females (I can't say impossible Dolly Parton swears hers were real...)
20. There is a huge difference between "fit" and "lifts weights like Arnold would all day long". Far too many of them fall into the later category (not all though, so not quite as bad as Shadow Chronicles in that respect). The women though, they all have huge "talents" as Bernie Tenaka would say (or perhaps it was Mel Fujitsu)
21. Movies - yes, source material, RH had not gotten to that phase of his writing career yet... I don't know who did the character designs but they are as bad as Shadow Chronicles IMHO.
22. Maybe it is a sequal to Van Helsing, that howl at the end is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
23.
I have only seen him in Green Mile (that I remember, and how could one forget?). He really did deserve the Oscar for that role.

24. Yeah, and I was really looking forward to what SA could do with the material too. What a letdown.
25. I finally saw this last night- I expected MUCH better from Shinji Aramaki. Far too much casual nudity and sex, horribly cliched characters, and boring action sequences. Character design appears to have been done by Tommi Yume as well. On the pluse side there is a twist in the usual formula - on the negative side - by then I didn't give a rip (I decided to read a book during the movie, thr ultimate insult for my first watching of a film...) Final word, better then the last 2 movies, on par with the first.
