  1. Past hour
  2. I wonder if they'll go back more like the original's footage/style, or double-down on "contrived experiences" and have tons of CG events blatantly "staged" to experience like in the current version. I like the original version way more.
  3. Ironically, the Tron coaster at Disney World is my all-time fave. Not that I go on very many coasters to compare, but I love it 10x more than any other I think. It's so SMOOOOOOTH.
  4. Today
  5. That’s what happens when you don’t refrigerate your Sazabi and forget about for too long
  6. That’s the way it always goes. I had a resin 3D printed cannon set for a Geara Doga heavy weapons set come in and a week later Bandais is showing off that there is an upcoming Geara Doga heavy weapons set type at the recent hobby show. I was just thinking about how much work it would be to smooth out the resin one, but I already bout it and probably will just stick with that
  7. Great! After waiting 20yrs I finally start building my old VT-1 with the help of Arbit's 3D sculpted Minmay in the back thinking that they would never do this after so long! Nice, I would have thought they would include the tent or the 4 thrusters under the forward fuselage for this release. They would have gotten my wallet if I didn't just build this last year - argh.
  8. Yeah, I stopped even reading through that because it was making my brain hurt. 😉 Let's see how long it takes me to get the basic plane done, then we'll see what happens after that. 😄 Another minor update, bit by bit as I get free moments to work on it. Nose and canpoy progress. I shortened and straightened the nose a bit to give the 24 its own profile, though it's still very similar to the 25 and I think still loyal to the art. Canopy I think is a decent balance between the 2D art and 3D necessities, but let me know if you guys see places to improve. Moved the sensor windows onto the nose, but still have to integrate them (either cut in two or just build into the cockpit block and overlap) to accommodate transformation since they span the split line where the nose folds away. That will be tomorrow's task and then on to the shield. Feedback and suggestions welcome (even the nutty super pack ones 😉)!
  9. Not completely done, Disney has a couple of Tron coasters to promote...
  10. I know, but I'm a pengbuzz; I have a contractual obligation to take everything way too seriously! For many of us, where toys end and models begin no longer has a clearly defined line!
  11. It was a j-oke. 😅 Of course that’s why we supplement some of our needs through models and option parts. 😉
  12. This is why I bought the model kits instead of the toys; I wanted the one on the box!
  13. Sorry guys, life has been BUSY the last three weeks! I missed so many pages of AWESOME builds you have been working on! Two weeks ago we had our modeling convention. Here's a couple of highlights that were our better builds from the "Sci-Fi" category. TWO of these were by women! The Gundam diorama was actually entered in the "Diorama" category of judging. This Zoids build got gold and "Best Of" category for Sci-Fi. And for making trophies for our work golf tournament, I wanted patina copper placards. I found a good recipe! Three tablespoons apple cider or red wine vinegar and one tablespoon of Miracle Grow plant food. Let the copper sit in it for 30 minutes. Take it out wet and let it dry. When it dries, it looks like these: I gave it a LIGHT sanding to clean up the exposed copper. Thanks for checking in! - MT
  14. That is awesome. I thought it was a statue at first, but then I googled it and saw it's a figure. Comes with a nice pricetag, too O_o.
  15. Uprising was best TRON imho. Pretty sure TRON is toast at this point. Ugh.
  16. I don't love the minifig design. I think if a non-Lego brand wants to take off, they have to have a minifig design that is somehow "better" than Lego. I've always been impressed with Mega(Blocks)'s minifigures. But they might almost be "too good", if that makes any sense. Closer to a small action figure than something compatible with bricks. I think they need something cute and blocky and charming to hit the sweet spot, but also ball-jointed to be "better" than Lego. If a company could do that, and put out non-licensed sci-fi Space sets, I'd be tempted to jump ship. Lego's treatment of its legacy themes is f*cking disgraceful.
  17. It’s how they get you. As an adult, I kept buying these hoping that one day I would get the one on the box. Got bamboozled every time. 🤣
