I was really hoping to see Domon and Rain, more than "a fight we've already seen before, re-mastered".- 4047 replies

They're down to €1000-1500-range now, according to PCPartPicker (GER) 😅. Be glad you bought it when you did. Unless you need a new one, in which case...good luck. - Today

Macross is not a hobby for the financially faint-of-heart, that's for sure. 😅 Between the Japanese domestic market prices for things like physical media, books/mooks, models, toys, albums, etc. and the cost of international shipping and the associated taxes makes it pretty darn costly at the best of times. That much spread across a decade or so ain't too bad, but all at once? Ouch. I did some checking, and it looks like the color art was possibly only available in the non-archived digital distribution and/or individual print issues of Dengeki Hobby. EDIT: I was able to find the illustrator's (Tommy Otsuka's) socials, but nothing Macross related on their two twitter accounts. Their old artist website is defunct, and I haven't yet checked their pixiv account but what I can see on Twitter is that it's mostly OC NSFW stuff.

Ankles/thrusters jutting out in fighter mode Gerwalk mode is just horrible and has no resemblance to the OA If this is not plain laziness on tamashii part to try and frankelstein the VF-171, i dunnoe what is Is it me or the DX VF-17S is severely lacking in tampos department? Guess this will be a one off release due to the poor sales and revenue
-
+1 I like the VF-171, but that toy had issues and it departs quite a bit from the VF-171, especially in bulk and proportions. I'm content with my Yammie VF-17 for now. I hope they'll do an HMR VF-17, and if they do, as you said, it'll very likely be a scaled down version of the Yamato just like their VF-4. We really need another toy company dedicated to getting Macross right, as Arcadia is all but dead at this point, and while not everything they made was perfect, at least there was passion behind their products. We need a toy company with that kind of dedication again, as well as the finances to take chances on obscure designs along with the more popular ones. Bandai has the finances, but obviously, Macross is an afterthought.

So last year I bought the PS5 Pro and on Black Friday an 8TB NVMe from WD direct for €640, I was just looking at the playstation website to see what the prices are now on the WD drives, First Playstation Germany doesn't link to WD for drives anymore, it only gives you the US site where you pay over $2600 for an 8TB drive....🥶 That's nuts! 😱🤪 -

The market for a "raw power, no fancy features" card certainly exists. "No RTX, no DLSS, no AI, just pure polygon-calculating-power". -
R.I.P. threads will no longer be a part of MacrossWorld going forward. The only exceptions will be regarding those who were a direct part of the Macross franchise. Thank you for your understanding. - MacrossWorld Admin and Moderation team

The Maxx was one of the greatest comic to cartoon animations ever, if not the best. The whole Image team back then was great, loved the comic and show. Lots of little details and an original story.
-
Thank you, that was the shock of the news.

Actually, it's "Kieth," not "Keith." He was one of those rare comic book writers who could also draw incredibly well.

https://bleedingcool.com/comics/sam-kieth-creator-of-the-maxx-and-sandman-has-died-aged-63/ I discovered Sam Kieth's art through comics, and later through the animated series The Maxx on MTV Brazil. I really liked his "busy" art style, and how he expressed every detail of the characters like few others. We will miss him, but now he must be happy, in his Outback with his creations. Thanks

Thanks fellas! The next project will be a vertical screen arcade bartop similar in finish and design. Three buttons, stick & spinner.

I think the head design was just trying to set itself apart from a lot of the other mecha stuff from the era. It kinda grew on me a bit when I would find the little Bandai models decades ago. as far as the show, if you’ve never watched it before, prepare yourself for a terrible ending. They cancelled the show early and the final battle isn’t really there. I’d suggest finishing the series, but watch the OVA as well. The first two parts kinda mix things up a bit and re tell the story with mostly scenes from the series and are a little tough to watch, but the last episode gives a real final battle that feels totally missing from the series. I feel like the cancellation may have been due to the dragging story in the beginning of the show, but I really feel like things get really good after they leave mars. And things get wild once they get to the Moon, almost like a bit of a short horror arc. Might have been my favorite few episodes because it was such a change up from the first few

It’s actually the 1/60 Yammie Double Nuts YF-19 that I posted @MKT before it got axed out due to regulatory reasons. Paid $295 Beaver Dollars in total (with EMS shipping and the $29.40 CBSA processing fees). Why the Double Nuts call sign? From what former member from here has mentioned: Double Zero : 00 [Air Force Sign]

Velma always looked like a light brunette to me. Daphne on the other hand is another case of the gingers being erased from entertainment. Not sure if they’ll try and dye the hair though. Velma always had an awkward overall look and they should just find someone that actually looks awkward to play her. They always seem to find someone that’s not awkward to play Velma and then have a really hard time trying to find someone prettier to play Daphne and end up with someone more awkward to play Daphne than Velma in a different way. I remember everyone thought that the movie Velma was hot and nobody really ever like Daphne’s looks in the movie even though she was supposed to be the hot one.
