    UPDATE: Space shuttle model has failed. While doing some of the remaining details on it (finishing dull-cote, balcony window), I lost control of it and it fell... Two stories. Not fun picking up a bazillion pieces from the pavement. šŸ˜  In any event, I am no longer doing any "thrift store rescues"; this one didn't just shatter the model, but my heart as well. (and no; under the circumstances, I will not be doing a "crash diorama". Not only are the pieces too small [more like shards], but Challenger and Columbia were two events that broke my heart.) Some days, I tell you.... PROJECT: DESTROYED.

    ... that one took me a second. Nicely done.šŸ‘ It definitely could've been worse. He could've been Val Kyrie or some such. I'm definitely curious to get into the part after that, since most of that section introducing Tom Kato is about his US Navy and later UN Forces service, but he mentions a testing accident that occurred during his brief stint working as an engine tester for OTEC where a 150m area of London was apparently compressed into a singularity.

    Were these strips even shown in the animation? I was always under the impression that they were added by Hasegawa (under Kawamori's supervision of course). IMO the VF-11 looks better without them (and the warts), so I sanded them off.

    Would a set of old Yamato stickers work? I think they included the necessary markings, but I don't know if they were white-backed stickers. You might try the sale/trade section though, lots of people here bought the first version, and you might find some who wanted the version without markings.

    Disappointed 2nd run FUGU Jetfire had the Macross icons removed, and no heat shield. 80% ofthe reason i bought it was because it was going on the Macross shelf. All the stickers would need to be in white, so i can't make them. If anyone wants to swap with a Macross version.....

    I think it'll be good, not great, as I'm not the biggest fan of the frame system. It lends stability, yes, but it's not faithful to the G1 toys where the bots themselves formed the limbs. That's one area for which I respect Combiner Wars, regardless of all the other deserved quibbles we might have with that line. I recently bought Magic Square's Bruticus, and that's a combiner done very well; I wish Takara/Hasbro had taken a similar approach. The all-in-one MMC approach would be even better, i.e. the best possible approach, but in a retail toy I'm more than willing to excuse large kibble-y bits to form the gestalt. Just make them what they are instead of adding additional kibble to them to make them comport into some sort of superfluous, unappealing add-on for the core bot's alt mode. On that note, I wish Newage and Magic Square would follow Newage's lead with Romulus. Both companies have made some amazing renditions of the various characters, and usually I find I prefer one company's take over the other's, and I've slowly built a tidy mixed collection. In most cases, I find these toys to be of surpassing quality next to official toys which makes me wish all the more that they would start producing them in CHUG scale. Perhaps their reluctance is what keeps them out of litigious waters, but on so many occasions I've wished for an upscaled version to fill my CHUG ranks.

    So Is Hot Toys now going back to the Alien and Predator series since Akzone Pred gets a recoloured version, Prey Pred and Scorched Xeno are going to get released shortly? Donā€™t know if theyā€™ll do anything from the Badlands series.
