Yeah, DHL's service depends on whether they decide your region is worth supporting as an actual service area. That's why they've been a disaster so many times for me. I live somewhere "too remote" for them to support fully, so they only send things my way via a third-party carrier hand-off that generally results in a complete loss of tracking and communication regarding my packages.
-
I understood the 403 Error to be IP blocking of foreign access. Bandai does the same. If someone has a Japanese-based proxy or VPN and cannot see it, that's another story.
-
I doubt I could sleep having done that. I don't sleep already while looking to own my first.

It's funny, when I think of the DYRL 1A, I always imagine my dream green 1J, and my fingers follow. The slip has happened before, and surely will again. 😄 But, a DYRL green one would be enough...for now.

If they handed the package to local carrier then I assume the practice is the same. Actually I used DHL once and they're different in a way that they handled everything even local delivery. Maybe that's better option, assuming your local DHL service is not as bad as other local delivery service that is.

I like a good WotW retelling, but reports at the onset were that this was a massive stinker so I stayed away. Someday curiosity may get the better of me, and I may just watch it to see just how bad it truly is. I've watched some sci-fi and horror clunkers in my time so I may suffer it out of boredom, curiosity, or both. Not today, though.

Talking about bad packing jobs... did they just wrap it in plastic? Or did they at least add an outer cardboard shell over the plastic wrap to protect the sides? Good luck! Incidentally, I couldn't help but notice the discolouration on parts of the metal framework. Is it rust? I hope its not something that will leech into and discolour anything you attach to it! Are those dim-able LEDs? I wonder if it's possible (or even worth the effort!) to add a controller to give it a dawn→day→dusk→night↩ lighting effect.

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Seto Kaiba replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
Eh... back when the OG Mobile Suit Gundam series was made real robot tropes had yet to be codified so it did have some leftover elements of "super-ness" to it. That said, most of the traits that are now said to be emblematic of super robots are generally absent from Gundam. The exceptions being, of course, those Gundam installments that unapologetically cross that line into super robot-ness like SD Gundam and Mobile Fighter G Gundam. A "super prototype" and a "super robot" are two different things... though their key distinction is usually whether they're handled like a practical weapon or a superhero. -
Pengbuzz, that is my new head canon!!😁 It looks like it is in good hands now, @tekering. Just watch out for clowns in Godzilla suits! Some great progress @Chas!

Probably the closest we'll get to classic biped mecha IRL are uparmoured exoskeletons so you can have a soldier carry heavier weapons with ease. -
Yeah, there’s been a few resin ones, but this will be the first plastic one. I do like the resin interpretations, but the new hasegawa one is more like the line art and supposedly has some details from original sketches

Aside from a 1D trainer, I hope 3Zero makes their own 1D Virgin Road... still regret selling the one I got in HK a long time ago.

I've got a few of the 1/72 armored battroid VF-11's in resin. But I would definitely be into a hasegawa version.

Lol, Gundam was and is a super robot franchise with a coat of real robot paint, except for a couple notable exceptions. It just spends a lot of effort trying to explain away its super-ness. -
You did some really nice alterations.

This reaffirms my wish for a VF-11 battroid. Preferably a Hasegawa in 1/72. If PLAMAX does one, that's also cool. And a YF-21 battroid.

There was an Experten kit in 1/100. The kit included a pilot figure as well. Pic below is just for reference. This kit is going to be huge. And found another kit. Wow.

Yes, the movie version has never had a plastic model or toy, the tv version had one in 1/144 by Imai, but I got a pretty good feeling that 1/72 is coming soon for the tv version

If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time the movie version has been available in any scale, and the first time any version has been available in this scale (in plastic)?
