Edward Kwan Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 This is the first Macross kit I post here, it is based on an old IMAI 1/720 plastic model. I wish you like it. Some Details: Led & the battery Standing pose More Details
Benson13 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Amazing fracking work. Mine looks like absolute poop now.
electric indigo Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Wow, this is a real museum piece! Great color scheme, too.

modelglue Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Incredible! I hope to see more of your work soon. Thanks for posting and contributing to the many awesome models here.
DarrinG Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 An average attempt - I've seen better . . . NOT Zoiks! I'm stunned! What AMAZING freaking talent! h u m b l e d . . .
derex3592 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Having just completed this kit a few months ago, I can truly appreciate the work you put into that. Absolutely astonishing work!!! Bravo!!!
grapetang Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Fantastic work! Love the scratch-built details and the paint job. Looking forward to your other builds!
AndrewDrexler Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Jaw dropping good work. What colors did you use for the airbrushing?
captain america Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Excellent work! You managed to breathe new life into such a clunky old kit and I tip my hat to you for your efforts.
Mr March Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) I love it! Wow, what an amazing job you've done. The craft looks menacing with the colors you've painted. You achieved a real sense of depth and weight using the colors. I'm very impressed. Only thing I might critique is the deployed sensor array; the dish looks a little to deep and bright yellow. I only say this because as part of my next update, I carefully reviewed the footage of SDF Macross series to color a new version of the sensor array. The yellow is fairly pale, almost tan, at least in the close-up scenes. If you're interested, here is the revised version I colored.Again, fantastic work. I'm amazed by what you've done. The best model of the theatre scout that I've ever seen. Edited June 24, 2014 by Mr March
MechTech Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 AWESOME work on detailing and lighting this classic kit! - MT
arbit Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 This is the kind of amazing build that can make you give up on modeling forever!
Mintox Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Great stuff Kwan. I'm about to do mine so this has inspired me to continue to build my version of it. Its not the greatest kit, the plastic is thick and hard but the details on the kit are pretty good for what it is.
MechTech Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 (edited) I loved that kit! I was happy when Neptune Models released one. That was a fun build: - MT Edited June 11, 2016 by MechTech
arbit Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 (edited) I loved that kit! I was happy when Neptune Models released one. That was a fun build. Great work on that motor! What a beauty. Which is bigger in size, the Imai or the Neptune? Edited June 12, 2016 by arbit
derex3592 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 The Neptune was 1/350 I believe. Absolutely beautiful!!! The Imai was only 1/720 or there abouts.
MechTech Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Thanks! The Neptune models was 1/350th. The Imai was 1/720th, an oddball scale, but probably close enouoght to 1/700 ship stuff for dioramas. - MT

Steve71 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Amazing work - I will definitely come back to this for inspiration when I build mine.
