No. Not at all. The Amazon series is going to be a insult to Tolkien and the world he created. I refuse to watch it.

Looks like it could be fun, but I’ll probably wait to hear if it’s any good, but it’s probably gonna be far better than Rings of Power

This one can't be worse than Rings of Power and I like the premise. Also with Peter Jackson involved that's a big step up

Omg, I tried to watch that recently, I was 40 minutes into the first movie and only 5 minutes into any actual story. I gave up.

Bearing in mind, there was apparently a lot of interference from the 'higher ups' during development of the Hobbit trilogy. I don't know how much overall control he has in this one, but if it is similar to LoTR then there's less cause to worry.

As to the Hobbit movies, I liked them. I don't watch near as often as LoTR, but they were enjoyable.

This won't be the movie to bring me back to a movie theater, I may watch it when it comes out on streaming.  I may not.  The preview was just not compelling.

My viewpoint of anime in this genre...always colored/biased by......i guess i just like the close-ups and character art of ye old anime style...its a adjustment for me to take in modern anime that covers this genre... RIP mitsumi inomata who was the character artist/animation director for windaria...

If this was live-action, I'd be there! Doing it this way makes it easier/cheaper to make, but there aren't too many things I like in anime/style.

I'm not all that excited about a prequel, esp about a character who we know what happens to. Would much rather something showing one of the battles/fronts in the war that kept the elves or dwarves from helping at Gondor.

Could do. I think it would be a 'smaller' story since events after RotK were winding down and settling, unless they were going to do something original.

That’s always an odd one. Pretty much no elves, and only a lesser big bad and dwindling orcs at that point, but it could be done as a smaller story
