anybody here preordered the HMR VF-0S with Ghost last night from amzn-jp?

if so, did you get charged right away or not?

Just wondering since I've read some TFW2005-members got charged right away when preordering Takara TFs (MP, MPG, Missing Links, etc).

I haven't preordered from amzn-jp for a long time now.

Amazon Japan fully charged me up front the last time I ordered from them, and I remember folks had said subsequently that is now standard practice for them, unlike Amazon US.

HLJ seems to be having web issues though, it's listed on the main page, but the link is dead.  Seems that they added all of the Bandai products to the front page, but none of the individual item pages are ready.

It's fixed, the page was broken and listed as out of stock, try again now.

I think they prematurely added all of the products to the main page, and then had to re-list and re-link all of the Bandai products they added, because the pages were all 404 errors.

Same.  Used your affiliate link.  Not sure how that works or how trustworthy companies are regarding referral rewards.

This was an immediate buy for me.  I was lucky enough to pick up the 1/65 version 6-7 years ago off Mandarake; it's such a stupid-fun toy.  Highly recommended.

Just placed my order from HLJ too.

This is the first valkyrie order I have done in over a year. I am quite excited... I love the VF-17 design.... much more so than the Fire Valkyrie (I really hate the Fire Valkyrie's lips in particular).

Now if only they would release a transformable Battle 7, along with a City 7 for it to dock to.

 

Update:  I just placed an Amazon Japan order.... I think it is slightly cheaper there.  Now I will go cancel my HLJ order....

Huh, looks 2100 Yen more expensive from Amazon vs HLJ but I'm sure there are shipping considerations that might even it all out.... though let's not talk about shipping and hope things get better!

Careful using amz.jp to preorder this DX VF-17S.

They do their new charge-now/pay-now policy on it instead. 

It happened to me last night and I canceled it right away.

Not sure if its general amz.jp preorder-policy now or just randomized items, as  I didn't get charge-now/pay-now when I PO ML-Ultra Magnus a month or so ago.

Amazon Japan will cost me.....

¥28,688 + shipping cost of ¥5,315 and import charge of ¥4,439... so a TOTAL of ¥38,442.

So about $261 USD using current exchange rates... though not accounting for whatever adjusted exchange rate my credit card may be using.

 

What is the HLJ total cost? 

Note... for some reason HLJ keeps rejecting my attempts to place order in Japanese Yen and keeps defaulting me to USD, making the normallly ¥27,000 ($183.29 USD) price into a $219.03 purchase price, before shipping and fees.

I'm not sure, but I think at some point they may have changed how HLJ places charges in yen?

I've had my paypal linked to my account for a long time, and always flagged to use yen by default, but they might not accept new requests to use that method.  I wouldn't quite blame them, since the way the exchange rate has fluctuated has resulted in some wild price differences over the past couple of years.

lol hlj limit is 1 per customer... i'm not sure who wants 2.

BBTS is $299... i won't criticize BBTS for this,  perhaps that is the msrp price for the US that is set by Bandai,

someone must be smoking rocks or out of touch setting that MSRP

I'll wait to ship my Macross preorders from Anime Export, Yoyakunow, Nin Nin Game, and Hobby Genki when there are cheaper shipping options.  Good thing their private warehouses won't be charging fees.

Well, the risk is if any fold.

On a perhaps not wholly unrelated note, I have been feeling that there is an uptick in promo "sales" emails from some of these shops in the last few weeks. To me, that screams trying to get folks to get over tariffs, and might be a sign of how some could actually be hurting right now due to loss of western sales.

That gives me a little pause when I considering ordering and warehousing.

:lol:  Yeah, this one was a hot topic a while back when it was revealed.  I'm not ashamed to admit I ordered one just for the sheer hilarity, but the reception seems to be a mix of high comedy and despair. :rofl:

 

The amazing part of this to me is that it might actually be the best-looking jet transformer we've gotten from Takara in a very long time.
