electric indigo Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 If you found Gravity, First Man and Interstellar too artsy-fartsy, here's James Gray's Brad Pitt vehicle that puts the Hero back into the astronaut, like those good ol' russian movies do. They even managed to put an effin' car chase in there. IN SPACE! I have to say that the concept for this movie sounded much better than what we see here, maybe it is just a really bad trailer.
Thom Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 I'm liking the look of it. Looks like it will fit in real well with Gravity and Interstellar. I'll plunk some money down and see it in the theater.
tekering Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Wait, is this the sequel to Armageddon? 'Cause it sure looks like it... ....and, like, Liv Tyler's in it.

I watched this trailer solely because of this line and was disappointed to see it was moon buggies on the moon and not, like, everyone trying to pass Starman's Tesla.

Dynaman Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Upping the Anti again. Even the Death Star only take out planets, this threat is for the entire solar system. It might be a decent action flick though.
technoblue Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 Okay! That new trailer has piqued my interest. I'll definitely set some time aside to see this at the cinema.
kalvasflam Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 All we need is Clint Eastwood and James Garner, and it is Space Cowboys too. Although I bet Hawkins would be surprised he has a son... "Are you sure you're mine?"
M'Kyuun Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 Eh, it's space sci-fi- I'll see it. Plus, quite a cast.
Knight26 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Looks awesome, and now that PItt is trying to kill it for having too much "Toxic Masculinity" I am all in.

Um, not sure how you read that, but he said the movie deals with toxic masculinity, not that it "has too much" toxic masculinity... Big ol' whoooosh moment there, I'm afraid.
electric indigo Posted October 3, 2019 Author Posted October 3, 2019 Did anyone bother to watch this? The reviews make quite a Flopnik of it. https://thedigitalbits.com/columns/my-two-cents/092419-1400
peter Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I almost went to see it.......nothing in particular that stopped me, just finding the time.

I'm pretty sure I'm not smart enough to dislike Ad Astra, lol!
Thom Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Not to get spoilery, but it was very slow and low energy, and anti-climactic. Great visuals though!
TangledThorns Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 The clip with Moon pirates made this film look like derp.
