mechaninac Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I can't wait to see it all finished in its humongous, awesome glory...
Nyankodevice Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 and now for the panel lining, stripes and other goodies
Nyankodevice Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 a little update... to some of the parts i have added some decals, panel lining and initial weathering.. much more still to be added!
GMK Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 The geek's heart in me skipped a beat when I saw that blue over white - great colour match. Looks fantastic.
Xigfrid Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Truly inspiring! I can't wait to see you building the inner town now!
MechTech Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Looking awesome! I second that; the color looks great! What did you use? - MT
Nyankodevice Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 Looking awesome! I second that; the color looks great! What did you use? - MT Thanks! the color i used is: 6 parts Signal Blue and 4 parts USAF Light Grey and i gave it 2 coats
UN Spacy Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 To quote Freyja.....WOW, that's a deculture and a half.
Nyankodevice Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 Wow. Are those the Destroid emplacements on the side? yup for Defenders, Tomahawk and Phalanx
Xigfrid Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 zooming in the 2 last closeup pictures, and still discovering new details! Amazing work and painting
mickyg Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Glorious! Makes me wish I could add half the details you're putting on it to my little Cosmo Fleet SDF-1. Maybe I'll try in the future. The shape and colour look amazing!
mechaninac Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 "A lot more details", he says... That's got to be the understatement of the day. This SDF-1, once completed, deserves to be displayed prominently in a museum.
slide Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Outstanding work so far! Love that colour of blue, will shamelessly appropriate!
Xigfrid Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I really like the number bay, did you use some decals? Or you have just painted them?
Nyankodevice Posted May 11, 2016 Author Posted May 11, 2016 I really like the number bay, did you use some decals? Or you have just painted them? i had alot of left over No. decals from previous macross models... (use whatever you got!)
Nyankodevice Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 (edited) so the ship itself is pretty much done now... very few tweaks left to do, some weathering still needed in some areas... also the various guns still need to be finished and added... so now its the city's turn for some much needed love, and ill try and incorporate as much as i can, as seen in SDFM TV, also trying to get the sense of scale to be felt Edited May 12, 2016 by Nyankodevice
claude grant Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Whoa Nellie!!! That's just blood raw awesome work young man!
mickyg Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Unbelievable! Absolutely amazing work, my friend. Truly an inspirational build! If they could cast something and mass produce a kit like this, you'd be a very popular man.
Nyankodevice Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 some more pictures! made a "shoulder" hangar (not finished yet) so it can be displayed without the docked ships... also pretty much settled on the appearance of the large guns...
claude grant Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 (edited) Ok "Flash", now you're just showing off...shoulder hangar indeed ! On the level though, this is some seriously impressive work done @ a rate I still can't comprehend!...It's like BW & HG kissed and made up, decided to fast track a live action movie together, hired you to create long shot miniatures, and MechTech to do the up close working/functioning Daedalus shots (as long as Kicker773 allowed his model to be commissioned for the film)! Nyankodevice Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 Wow - how long is this?Around 85-90 cm...Haven't made the final measurement.... However the scale might be revised, To around 1/1500 instead of 1/1600.
mechaninac Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 (edited) Since words fail... Edited May 12, 2016 by mechaninac
DarkArchon3000 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 WOW! Unbelievable! This is a piece of art. Words can't describe how awesome this is. All I can say is, do you do commission work? Cuz I want one.
