  1. I was there at animeboston when this got announced. The crowd cheered, but I never posted anything about it here, because I figured everybody already knew.
  2. In the U.S. L.A., New York, Dallas, and Washington got hit. That still leaves a rather large chunk of population. I would say only about 20-25% of the first world population got wiped out. Oddly enough some countries like Canada and Australlia didn't get hit at all.
  3. All is good then. WWE 13's attitude era was awesome.
  4. Is Yukes still the developer?
  5. I'm reposting this from the Voltron thread per anime52k8's request... I think there is a ton of bias around here against american companies versus Japanese ones no matter how brittle, poorly made, sloppy painted, or prone to random disintegration the $500 to import MECHABLASTOR Z FINAL GETRO VERSION DX from Japan is.
  6. That's what put me in this mindset, but like I said I thought people were discussing the original Voltron toy. Still after looking at this new version it still doesn't deserve the crapping on its getting. Yes it's a collectors item, but designed to be a nostalgia toy to recapture the essence of the original with similar features. Its kinda like the G.I.Joe 25th line and the retooled Skystriker that got released.
  7. Those Mattel toys were fun as a kid, and were meant for kids so I see no reason to crap on them. I don't see you guys crapping on some of the more goofy child toy versions of other giant robots out there, and that's because you accept them for what they are. I also think there is a ton of bias around here against american companies versus Japanese ones no matter how brittle, poorly made, sloppy painted, or prone to random disintegration the $500 to import MECHABLASTOR Z FINAL GETRO VERSION DX from Japan is. That being said there should be a high end version that exists and adresses things like transformations, and joint manuverability for those that want them.
  8. Discotek Media is releasing/released the first Lupin series, original Cutey Honey, Mazinger, and Captain Harlock along with obscure titles like Mighty Space Miners(go planet Jackson!!!). Nozomi/Right Stuf is releasing/released all of Original Dirty Pair, Original Space Adventure Cobra, and Rose of Versailles. Sentai Filmworks is even releasing the original Science Team Gatchaman remastered. With things like this happening lately I'd say the chances of getting Orguss in the next three years is about 60% unlike LotGH which is 0.00000000000001%. Two big things in Orguss favor is that it's getting remastered, and subtitles already exist for it.
  9. I get the feeling the Japanese are going to go dubtacular on this and throw a bunch of injokes and mecha references that aren't actually in the english version.
  10. It did see a limited release by ImaginAsian a cable channel. The problem was it was made to order, had disc defects, and wasn't around for very long. That's why I specified "mass release":
  11. The likelyhood of this show getting a mass release in the US just went up 100 fold. A lot of licensers won't touch an older series unless its been remastered. Its tenative connection to macross could make it a big seller.
  12. Has anybody else here seen Cat Planet Cuties aka Bombshells from the sky aka Asobi Ni Ikuyo? Its been a long time since I enjoyed a harem show or found one funny so this was a breath of fresh air. There are a ton of western world pop and sci-fi references in it including Mutley from Wacky Races and Star Trek, but what truly shocked me was a direct reference to Red Dwarf of all things! My jaw just hit the floor when it happened.
  13. I just started watching Lupin the 3rd 1st series. Prior to this my experience with the franchise has been watching Castle of Cagliostro, collecting a few figures, and just reading about it online. To be honest I didn't expect the level of violence that this series has. In the first episode alone there has to be over 100 people killed between Lupin electrocuting an entire assembly rooms worth of a criminal syndicate and throwing time bombs on enemy race cars. I actually had to go back and watch it again just to be sure I really did just see that unfold. Am I complaining? HELL NO! Despite its age and having the "classic Lupin formula" each episode has been very entertaining, and its great that the main man Lupin himself in many ways just doesn't give a **** compared to modern male characters. Jigen makes a great foil for Lupin, and Fujiko is hot even with 70's animation standards too. I haven't gotten to an episode with Goemon yet.
  14. I wonder if now is a good time to admit to owning this. It's the original release, and I still haven't put it together.
  15. Wasn't there a videogame like this supposedly coming out involving gundam kits fighting in a diorama enviroment?
  16. One thing I'm not sure that has been discussed is what happens several years from now when the new MS system replacing the XBone comes and MS shuts down the Bone's servers? Are people going to be cool with the fact that all the money sunk into it for games is rendered moot when MS says "Forget the Xbox one, you buy this new system if you want to play!"?
  17. I started watching Infinite Stratos. At first I was face palming at the main characters actions thinking "here we go another wishy washy dumbass punching bag", but as the first episode went he started showing a bit of a backbone, and has a limit to how far he can be pushed. I wonder if this will hold out for the rest of the series?
  18. Voice acting aside, what interested me is this so-called split of MGS V into two games. From what I've read the first half is a typical MGS game, and the second might be an open world sanbox type game.
  19. Technically yes, but I'm pretty sure a few got the aformentioned "Lindelof shot".
  20. The DBG-88 is the JU-88 Mistel variant, and the FWG-97 could be the Bachem Ba-349 Natter or the Ta-183 Huckbein prototype that was never bult. If that bulge in the nose is a weapons pod I'd say it was the Natter.
  21. I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
