  1. Free? Too manly? Now this is too manly...
  2. If you haven't seen either film I highly recommend them and you should at least give them a chance. At least rent the first one.
  3. This movie was awesome! I loved the sci-fi references and spoofs it threw in there from alien, to attack of the clones, to even world war Z. God bless those little minions!
  4. Well... Right Stuf just announced that they will be releasing Cat's Eye on dvd. This was the other less popular show Imaginasian licensed. I'd say chances are very good now that we will see a US blu-ray or dvd of Orguss in the next two years.
  5. I think there's going to be an announcement this weekend at Anime Expo concerning a US release. A month and half ago when the Yamato girl show hosts let it slip that the foreign title would be Starblazers 2199 they were warned not to say anything more until the foreign distributors were ready to make an announcement. Last show the Girls started discussing Starblazers 2199 again.
  6. I hate to admit this, but that trailer was no worse than 90% of the Van Damme, Norris, or Segal guilty pleasure films from the 80s-90s.
  7. I've had this idea about the Striker Eureka since I watched the behind the scenes mecha video, but I want to call this now.
  8. Yup, never the less this idea was also used in Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II(not to be confused with Terror of Mechagodzilla, Godzilla against Mechagodzilla, or Tokyo S.O.S.) where the JSDF targeted the "secondary brain" in Godzilla's lower body to paralyze him.
  9. Discotek is releasing it on dvd soon.
  10. Bleh...Just what we need, a cop out that renders the first two movies completely pointless because the scriptwriters and film makers couldn't give us the flm we really want a massive future war offensive that shows the downfall of skynet with its denfense net and the sending of the first terminator back in time.
  11. I was there at animeboston when this got announced. The crowd cheered, but I never posted anything about it here, because I figured everybody already knew.
  12. In the U.S. L.A., New York, Dallas, and Washington got hit. That still leaves a rather large chunk of population. I would say only about 20-25% of the first world population got wiped out. Oddly enough some countries like Canada and Australlia didn't get hit at all.
  13. All is good then. WWE 13's attitude era was awesome.
  14. Is Yukes still the developer?
  15. I'm reposting this from the Voltron thread per anime52k8's request... I think there is a ton of bias around here against american companies versus Japanese ones no matter how brittle, poorly made, sloppy painted, or prone to random disintegration the $500 to import MECHABLASTOR Z FINAL GETRO VERSION DX from Japan is.
  16. That's what put me in this mindset, but like I said I thought people were discussing the original Voltron toy. Still after looking at this new version it still doesn't deserve the crapping on its getting. Yes it's a collectors item, but designed to be a nostalgia toy to recapture the essence of the original with similar features. Its kinda like the G.I.Joe 25th line and the retooled Skystriker that got released.
  17. Those Mattel toys were fun as a kid, and were meant for kids so I see no reason to crap on them. I don't see you guys crapping on some of the more goofy child toy versions of other giant robots out there, and that's because you accept them for what they are. I also think there is a ton of bias around here against american companies versus Japanese ones no matter how brittle, poorly made, sloppy painted, or prone to random disintegration the $500 to import MECHABLASTOR Z FINAL GETRO VERSION DX from Japan is. That being said there should be a high end version that exists and adresses things like transformations, and joint manuverability for those that want them.
  18. Discotek Media is releasing/released the first Lupin series, original Cutey Honey, Mazinger, and Captain Harlock along with obscure titles like Mighty Space Miners(go planet Jackson!!!). Nozomi/Right Stuf is releasing/released all of Original Dirty Pair, Original Space Adventure Cobra, and Rose of Versailles. Sentai Filmworks is even releasing the original Science Team Gatchaman remastered. With things like this happening lately I'd say the chances of getting Orguss in the next three years is about 60% unlike LotGH which is 0.00000000000001%. Two big things in Orguss favor is that it's getting remastered, and subtitles already exist for it.
  19. I get the feeling the Japanese are going to go dubtacular on this and throw a bunch of injokes and mecha references that aren't actually in the english version.
  20. It did see a limited release by ImaginAsian a cable channel. The problem was it was made to order, had disc defects, and wasn't around for very long. That's why I specified "mass release":
