okay you put the jedi fighter down as a starfighter yet it can't go on interstellar travel on its own power. Neither can the TIE fighter. yet both can go between stars with the aid of an outside force(the jedi's booster and the TIE's star destroyer) well this is my thread my reality you don't like it make your own and quit nitpicking space or star fighter it all good on this thread.

Notice I said "space only/transatmospheric and of a relativley small size" above also before you go all starwars defitions on me many of the SW novel tech books and guides refer to the TIE as a starfighter. I just got an idea from the other thread my starfighter thing. Someone said a TIE design sucked because you only can see straight ahead. in AIR to AIR with UAV's you would have the same problem. Like a flight Sim on a computer. Sure you could could toggle views from different cameras but that would take time. Time and reaction speed are two things most pilots can't afford to waste.(would be easier if you had several monitors for one UAV but this is the US military we are talking about budget cuts and low bidders and such.) Anyways my problem with the UAV's is the argument that it will cut down on human casualties. If anything they will cause more. with cheap to build and easy flyable UAV's that any country could build them and things will become a throw back the WWII hundreds of UAV's going at each other while on the ground soldiers will have to go back to trench warfare due to no good air cover. Basically though In see wars in the future being decided more than now not by how much of the enemy you kill but how much damage you do to their infrastructure.

its a photoshop. compare the direction of the peoples shadows with the planes. ALSO THE FACT IT IS ON AN AIRCRAFT CARRIER!!!!! Those aren't camera crew you know! edit also note the shadow of the wing of the plane next to it. It comes up short of the wing itself while the UAV's shadow extends beyond its wing that would mean two different light sources.

personally I think the writers for exo squad were macross/robotech fans. several episodes revolved around Kaz Takagi and the neo ace had stuff from them. Kaz losing his friend much like Rick and Roy the red and blue fighters fighting to a draw Kaz and his friend talking about the enemy ace with almost exaclty the dialoge as Kyhron talking Miriya in robotech. I've been thinking about all the sci-fi movies I've seen and games I've played and the worst transformers ever thread got me thinking why not a best starfighter thread. Also feel free to add some ones you hate. Off the top of my head there are four designs that I love 1.The X-wing from star wars (no need for a link to a pic) everything about this design reeks of coolness despite the armor looking like a 70's gremlin rusting in a junkyard. 2. The death blossom gunstar from the last star fighter http://members.fortunecity.com/wendhausen/...ter/gunstar.htm despite being a rip on the four wing design of the x-wing this thing has so many cool thing I consider it the x-wing redux. the gunners seat, the huge ass arsenal, and the whirling top of death that is the death blossom. 3.the TAC fighter from starship troopers http://www.trooperpx.com/VidMods/HalfLife/TAC.html you don't really see it much in the movie but the design was uber cool very reminicent of a cross between an AH-64 apache and a F-15 eagle 4. the SVA-43 Hammerhead from space above and beyond. http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/ACME4155/mycustompage0005.htm this ship alone is the biggest reason I miss the show. honorable mentions the hellcat V, Thunderbolt VII, and the arrow from wing commander III and IV dishonorable mentions all the designs from the wing commander movie. What the hell were they thinking?!?!? the core booster from original recipe gundam don't know why but aside from its color I hate this things its just... mother fugly at least the dopp has style points with the twin gatling gun/missile pods EDIT:

I like transformers but to be honest I stopped read this thread about forty minutes ago and started going page to page to see how many times SupremeKaioshin's avatar would show up. truthfully there have been some ugly ass transformers listed here that I have never even heard of, but the one I always found ugly was the Machine Wars optimus. HIS ARMS CAN'T EVEN MOVE UP AND DOWN! Not to mention I was left with extra parts when I took him out of the box and the insructions didn't even say jack about what to do with them. The worst insult of all though i finding out ths transformer wasn't even intended to be optimus in the first place.

first of all the arms limitations idea reminds me of the washington treaty after WWI. That went out the window when most of the countries figured WWII was imminent. second of all there are limitations to prop planes. broad wings are used to provide lift for the air the prop sends back. The wings limit speed where as a swept wing or delta can acheive better speeds. there is only so much horse power you can get from a radial or turbo prop. its preformance is way below that of modern jet engines. Reliability is a problem too. If you want an idea of the best a prop plane can be take a look at the A-1 skyraider. Its noted as a single engined low level attacker that could carry the same weight as a B-17's bomb load under its wings.

not to change the subject but I can get original line modelkits for the Yamato Harlock and andromeda from this comic place I know for roughly $150 american. Is it a rip or a deal? They've been sitting in the store for years collecting dust(it was the same with the gundam kits till gundam was release here now I can't get a HGUC to save my life.)
