Goodbye Bandai Entertainment USA

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
renegadeleader1 replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Here's a simple explanation. Its called "Pacific" Rim not Atlantic. That's why there aren't any other nations from Europe represented aside from Russia being the exception as it actually borders the Pacific Ocean.- 1207 replies

Goodbye Bandai Entertainment USA

You need to escape your Hobbit Hole more. The news of Bandai of America folding has been around for almost a year now. -
Well it took me a while, but I decided to finally upload some of my figs to flickr. I've been promising photos of her for along time now, but here she is Hitomi the band girl! Sorry about the quality I took it on my cell.

G.I. Joe 2: Operation Body Massage

Not really. We got the explodabike that's seen in the trailer, and a short tank battle that jumpcuts so much you can barely tell what's going on.- 264 replies

Today is a good day! I picked up Exellent Model Core's Nyx figure from the same line as the Shizuka figure that anime52k8(seriously man I owe you) pointed me to came from. It looks great and only cost me $67. God bless brick and mortar stores! I also picked up a revoltech Elina figure for $50 to add to my growing list of Queen's Blade revoltech figures. A little expensive yes, but not as bad as for what she is going for online. I have to admit I find it a little humorous and ironic that I found the two characters that hate each other the most at the same exact time. Nyx is pretty much the catalyst for everything that Leina the wandering warrior does in the series.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
renegadeleader1 replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Funimation has the rights to Great Guardians, and maybe Xtreme Xecutor. I have no idea what is taking so long to release it as the dub was apparently complete before Media Blasters gave up the rights to Ikki Tousen. Anyways I'm currently watching original Aquarion(yeah um thanks guys), and Girls Bravo. -
G.I. Joe 2: Operation Body Massage

I just saw it... there's cheesy, and then there is just plain stupid and that is what this film is. Its not as bad as the first, but its still bad. Yes ninja scenes were good and very entertaining, but everything else is meh to WTF?!- 264 replies

I went to my favorite comic book store in NH and picked up more HGUC GM's in my quest to collect them all. So far here's what I got. RGM-79 RGM-79[G] (technically a 08th ms HG release) RGM-79C RGM-79D RGM-79G gm command RGM-79N RGM-79Q RGM-79SPII (standard type) RGM-79 Powered GM RGC-83 GM CANNON II RMS-179 GM II RGM-86R GMIII MSA-003 Nemo (unicorn version) RGM-89 Jegan RGM-89S Stark Jegan What I need RGM-79GS RGM-79[G] Sniper RGM-79SPII (White Dingo) RAG-79 aqua GM MSA-003 Nemo (Zeta version) Anybody know if I'm missing anything? I haven't kept up on the latest HGUC releases. Has Bandai gotten around to making a RGC-80 or original RGM-79SP sniper?

If you're refering to the hospital ship they lost they lost that status protection when they took the flying Gouf's onboard. The Feddie commander was well within his rights to issue firing orders at that point.- 3806 replies

I've got a historical/production question for anbody that knows a lot about Gunbuster. How much was Studio Fantasia(Project A-ko, AIKa, etc) involved in Gunbuster's production? I see a lot of places refer to it as a co-production, but it seems Gainax gets all the glory for it.

As I mentioned earlier I ordered 3 Queen's Blade revoltech figures and now I have a couple questions. 1.What's the normal retail price for a revoltech figure? I'm guessing $30-40 dollars for normal ones, and $60-70 for variants/exclusives/specials etc. The reason I ask is I purchased Queen's Blade Rebellion's Siggui the Inquisitor from a reputable online store for only $24 with shipping included. The figure is still a recent release, so this has me wondering if there's a defect, or something else wrong with this particular figure that makes people not want it? 2. When did squishy bewbies become a revoltech feature?
-
Most likely it will see a U.S. release, just not anytime soon because the series isn't finished yet and still has to make its TV run in Japan. I firmly believe Funimation's licensing of Yamato: Ressurection was a stepping stone in order to get exclusive rights to 2199. Unlike Macross there is no two companies fighting over who owns what with Yamato and Starblazers. Voyager entertainment has always been pretty much a shell/subsidiary company for the one that makes Yamato. Recently Voyager was more or less canned.

The WWE and Pro-Wrestling Thread 2

As sexualized as it was many of the girls didn't screw around and took it seriously, and suffered for it. Little Egypt the one who made that slideshow blew out her knee during a match. At least I think it was her.- 715 replies

90's pornstar Tiffany Million got her start on G.L.O.W as Tiffany Mellons. Former WWF Diva Ivory(as Nina Ferrari) did too. Tiffany got kicked off the show for apparently engaging in lesbian relations with several other GLOW girls. Ivory jumped ship with Dave Mclane to his reboot P.O.W.W and from there the WWF. Mclane rebooted the women's wrestling gimic a few years ago again with W.O.W. Beth Phoenix got her start there as Sandy a member of the Beach Patrol. If I remember correctly the women who were Hollywood, and The Farmer's Daughter co-own the rights to GLOW now, and still do semi-regular promotions, along with releasing select matches on dvd. After watching that promo... yep I would still tap Ninotchika!- 715 replies

My panel at Anime Boston 2013
renegadeleader1 replied to VF5SS's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
Yeah that was pretty funny! How about that terrordactyl mecha we all designed together? It was a little interesting to hear a guy who makes his living essentially designing walking tank style mecha say he prefers flashier Z.O.E. super robots. I just wish I didn't have to sit next to the guys obsessed with adding "moar chainsaws!!!". -
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-03-18/godzilla-remake-begins-shooting-with-actor-ken-watanabe Woohoo!!! Its no longer a rumor! The new Godzilla film is finally underway! I wonder if Ken Watanabe will play a Dr. Serizawa type character. I think it would be kinda funny and ironic if he ended up playing a news reporter describing the attack for the Japanese people.

I've been on a bit of a Queen's Blade kick since I picked up Shizuka(thanks Anime52k8), so I went ahead and ordered three revoltech figures. Branwen, Sigui, and booster version Alice complete with pee(oil?) stained panties and puddle... um yeah. Anyways I still want to pick up figures of Echidna and Nyx.
