    Maybe they're just the back of the legs as usual. (I have no idea why they would be, but it would be pretty hilarious if it's guns were only capable of shooting the robot in it's own arse in battroid mode. )

    Why should they waist their time trying to build quality into something that looks like a prolapsed anus with wings? They should just go for a hat-trick of fail on this one: Spontaneously disintegrating plastic and unfixable missassembly that makes it unable to transform, on a toy who's design was ugly as sin from the get go. Personally I applaud Bandai for putting so much effort in this early towards making the worst toy of 2011.

    You know what, your right. I don't know how I've never noticed any of these problems in the entire time I've owned my particular copy of the toy, and to be honest I still don't see it myself; but clearly you know more about something that I own than I do. Clearly this is the worst atrocity ever inflicted on society; more so than the holocaust and Celine Dion combined. I'll be sure to toss mine in the trash right away before it tires to strangle me in my sleep or something.

    I wish they would go to using a gloss finish for all their releases. The textured surface they use now sucks, I much prefer the extra glossy finish on the bandai DX's.

    Does this mean I'll have to buy a -19kai for this to happen? (I was hopping to wait for the -19S unless the price ended up shockingly low.) I would buy one though, it's quite sexy.

    You know the chances of that ever happening are infinitesimally small, right? We're talking about kit bashed model kits from a hobby magazine photo-novel. Given how many designs featured prominently in actual animated programs haven't been produced yet, what are the chances something this obscure is going to get the $300+ toy treatment? Or better yet, how many people would actually spend $300+ on a toy of this? Just saying

    I agree on all counts. Also, even though it's technically inaccurate, I like the raised head on the 1/60. It makes the battroid look more normal (i.e. like a human) when it's in a neutral stance and it also lets the chin on the -1J/S clear the top of the chest when looking left or right without having a ridiculously long neck.

    dumb question: Are we ever going to see these designs in battroid? Given that they're all based off of model kits so far and they don't make a YF-19 battroid model...

    Yeah, I spent 6 years trying to do that (classes at school, language software and a grandmother who's a native speaker) and I still can read jack shit Japanese. I'll just be waiting until this gets animated.

    as of right now, nothing has been released. A 1/100 Fighter Mode only model has been show in painted form and is scheduled for release this February. A 1/60 scale DX toy has been announced in the form of CAD renderings of the fighter mode, but no physical prototypes or release info has come out. also in the most resent promotional image for the 1/100 fighter mode kit, there is a blurb about 1/72 scale. (see second image)

    That's because wood grain veneers on electronics is tacky as hell. But I like tacky, and adhesive backed Wood grain vinyl is cheap.
