The MW Automotive Thread Quattro SpecV
anime52k8 replied to areaseven's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
So what? Taxi's are awful, anything that can make the experience slightly less awful is fine in my book. -
I get the impression (from the show anyways) that the production, sale and installation of cybernetic implants is illegal within the fleet, but a person isn't going to be arrested/kicked out of the fleet if they had them installed outside of the fleet.

Actual question; Have you EVER responded to a post on this board within a month of anyone actually caring?
-
but this one doesn't have forward swept wings.
-
oh, Calibrun is an earlier/alternate name for Excalibur.
-
The Yamato sculpt blows away the Bandai in every way except for the feet (the Yamato's are a little small to me). Also, the Yamato will have such extravagant luxuries as landing gear and a gunpod that will actually attach in fighter mode.
-
want the VF-19ACTIVE the most, although the VF-19S is an inevitability and I'll definitely pick one up when it happens.
-
On the Yamato SV-51, is there any place on the toy itself to store the little panels from the wings that fill in the attachment points for the boosters? They're VERY small so I don't want them bouncing around when not in use, and I'd rather keep them with the toy instead of in the box in a closet where I can't get to them.

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie

definitely the same legs as the DX25. -
From Macross R It's an Export model VF-19E customized and operated by the Macross frontier fleet and SMS.

yeah, I was wondering who was doing the character designs for this. they're turning out just as awesome as the VF's as for the SV-52; very sexy, but not quite as sexy as the VF-19ACTIVE. I prefer the Forward swept canards and original wing tips of the original SV-51 better (were as the ACTIVE has way cooler wings than stock VF-19's). as for a VF-4, YES. :EDIT: just remembered this from part 2: I see a tiny red VF-4 in the back there (although given that there's never been a production plastic model of the VF-4, it could be a while before we see a built one) I also see a cool looking VF-19 variant and a VF-22. (there was also a VF-17 on the page so I think we WILL be seeing something new every issue)

"Low-Cost" no, but given the proliferation of Variable fighters by the late 2050's and level of manufacturing technology in the Macross universe, I can imagine that building a reproduction SW1 vintage Variable fighter is going to be about as common as building reproduction WWII fighters today (i.e. common for people with considerable disposable income.)

wait, how tall is the SDF-1's bridge on the 1/3000 toy? Because a 1/60 is going to be 50 times taller than that. (i.e. a 1 inch tall bridge in 1/3000= 50 inches tall in 1/60 )
-
that would have made shadow chronicles ten times cooler.

I think this is one of the saddest nerd fights I've seen in a while. Also, I'm not going to change my vote as the original question was who would win in a fly-off competition and make it to production, but Now that I've got an SV-51 toy in hand I realize this is WAY cooler than the VF-0.

so, super hornet vs legacy hornet? -
No, they need to Flood the market like crazy, I want SDF-1's on Slash-and-burn 80% off clearance.
-
the Nu gundams proprtions are off but they're not nearly as bad as Sazabi's. I think it's just a factor of when they came out. A lot of the early MG's (before about 2001) had poor proportions. I think it was that they where just starting to use CAD to design kits and they hadn't quite figured out how to translate the drawn designs into 3D using a computer program yet.

The Transformers 3 Thread--A Michael Bay Thread
anime52k8 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I really like most of the ROTF movie toys. I prefer them esthetically to the Classics/universe stuff anyways. These ones look ok except for the pointless, massive guns; this is the first Half way decent movie starscream other than the ROTF leader that we've gotten. in other news, Movie shockwave. It's alright now that I've been looking at it for a while, but I really wanted something more epic. Maybe he'll look better in the movie, and we'll get an awesome leader class toy. -
actually as a whole I like bayformers a lot more than Classics/universe stuff. My problem is more that it's not how I think Shockwave should look, even with bayformers aesthetic. I was hopping for something taller and slimmer, with bigger shoulders and more sharp, strait lines overall. Also he needs more of the wide, pentagonal window motif on his chest and he should have the giant gun-arm on the left side. I think it's just that I'm really picky about my Shockwaves because he's my favorite character and I'm also wanting a bit more animated influence in terms of proportions as that's become my favorite incarnation of him as of late. I do really like the Head design for him though.

god dammit, why is it combining my posts?!? stupid IPB3 and the rest:
