  1. I know there were markings for the tv version, but I’ve never seen them for the movie version in any previous artwork. But that’s not to say there wasn’t something I hadn’t seen. I’m just thinking it’s possible Hasegawa basically used these from the tv version and recolored them for the most part. I was just curious if there was any artwork or designs before this kit that show the movie version with markings
  2. There’s also the tv version of the q-rau and both versions of the n-ger
  3. There’s a 15% off site wide sale at USAGS this weekend. The picture at the top shows the YF-21 , so it may be including preorders
  4. I got that feeling from the trailers. I really wasn’t too excited about it, so your review isn’t a disappointment. It just had too much of a been there done that look to it
  5. I’m not sure, can’t read the tags, but the 1-A kits do have a separate tag, so maybe the 1-J is separate from the 1-A, and possibly the 1-A kits share decals like the movie 1-A kits.
  6. Looks like moderoid is doing a Dragonar kit as well. Saw these on taghobby. I really liked the hg kit that Bandai did recently, but knowing Bandai, that may be the only kit they do from the line. If Moderoid does more than just the Dragonar 01, I’ll probably buy into them
  7. It’s probably the same kit with the armor
  8. It’s a pretty wild time for plastic kits in general. Lots of Macross, Orgus, Votoms, Megazone 23, Patlabor and many others recently. My backlog has a backlog. I can’t remember a time when there were so many offerings
  9. Moderoid went up for preorder last night. That hairdoo is so wild
  10. it went up for preorder last night, crazy hair and all.
  11. There’s pictures for the rest of the vermillion bros in fighter mode floating around as well. I’ve still only seen the one battroid though
  12. I was trying to find pictures with the markings, but no luck. Did they invent these markings just for this kit?
  13. Is this one a static pose kit or one of their articulated ones?
  14. I thought they would have done it sooner to go with the battroid kit. It’s still odd they have movie fighters, but the battroid is a tv 1J
  15. The Bandai issue is more of a recent thing. Those 1/72 kits were out before Bandai stopped everyone but hlj in Japan from selling their kits
  16. Bandai tends to be far more popular as far as kits go. Wave, Hasegawa, Max Factory and others rarely sell out the way Bandai stuff does, even if the other companies do something super cool.
  17. Bbts is a good place to shop, just I had a coupon for usags
  18. I’m hoping that they’ll at least do a VF-11 to finish off the Valkyries from plus. I’d imagine there’s gonna be some milking of the molds for the YF-19 and YF-21. I’m also really hoping they do stuff other than the Valkyries, but I’m a bit doubtful they’ll do the zentraedi armor from plus, but I’d love to see it.
  19. USAGS has the decal set up for preorder as well now. Not sure why they didn’t list it until today. They should have listed it at the same time as the kit, but I wasn’t in a rush.
  20. Bandai has several decal sets for the zeon units and they’re easy to find. There are other pretty good third party ones at Newtype hobbies. So far the third party ones I’ve bought from them have been pretty good and a little thinner than Bandai ones, but I will say that if you know what you’re doing with water slide decals and how to thin the edges, then the Bandai ones are easy to use. I do think that the third party ones have a bit more variety though, especially for those that like line decals specific to a particular mobile suit. Most third party decals are coated these days, but you may want to pick up a second set or use a decal that you don’t care as much about to test if the ink is sealed or not just in case
  21. I do like the prototype for the HMR, but the hg kit definitely has the best looks of any YF-21 so far, especially for all three modes. Hasegawa probably did the best fighter mode, but that’s all they did unfortunately. Up until now I think the Reviltech did the best battroid, but now I’m leaning towards the hg kit battroid. And to be honest, I haven’t really liked any of the gerwalk modes from existing items but I do like this hg one. Overall this hg kit looks pretty good in fighter and looks great in the other modes, especially the battroid.
