From the sdfm was animated that one cel might be the correct one and the rest were the mistakes. The colors on everything flip flopped so much it gets difficult to determine mistakes vs cannon. Either way it's different from what I grew up with thinking, but it's growing on me day to day.
  2. Mr surfacer bites really well into plastic like styrene and is very smooth. It also grabs lacquer paint really well. There are cheaper lacquer alternatives for primer, but sometimes mr surfacer can be found much cheaper. I usually don't use enamel or acrylics because they tend to rub off easy or with the primers can have an odd surface. Be careful if you paint abs plastic with lacquer primer. Bandai has warnings about it with some kits.

I will probably buy both the m and m's (I did buy the tv 1j, even though I said I wouldn't), but I'd be way more excited if it were the q rau set, or maybe even more excited if it were the vf22 set. I'm feeling tired of vf1 after vf1.
  4. The one in the movie was still semiclear, but with the dark lighting it was difficult to see all the detail.
  5. When I was a kid I really wanted all those toys in the same scale to play together.
  6. If he's just talking about panel lining there's also the thin gundam panel markers or micron pens and I have also seen very thin lead pencils used. I usually do the oil paint, but I have been lazy on the real grades and used .25 micron pen just to get it done with fewer steps.
  7. I think the uptight judging in the real world modeling is one of the reasons that scale modeling is disappearing in the U.S.
  8. I think that if he owns the kit and the decals were either missing or damaged, having some one reprint the decals should be OK and not fall under the same category as a recast.

So is this just the max.
  10. I guess the film is almost at $400 million in earnings due to the overseas box office and has become the number 1 video game based film of all time.
  11. I just did a quick look at that site and the prices don't look too bad, but some items seem like the label didn't match the picture.
  12. China seems to be holding it up as a victory for the Chinese box office. They may have rescued this film from financial disaster and may have even turned it into a success if their numbers are correct.
  13. Man that's only 2or 3 bucks more than the smaller more ugly ones.
  14. He's there to tell everyone that he knows how to make a good movie, but I hope no one listens. All the live action movies and a good majority of his animated stuff has been terrible or boring or both.
  15. I have a feeling that the price on this will not $400, but maybe closer to the $100 range as a low and maybe around $200 for a high estimate. So far the cockpit looks like two halves with visible detail that needs to be shown. Unless they go with an internal structure it's possible to even be lower than my low estimate, but max factory kits have usually been at the $50 plus range for smaller kits. Then again those smaller kits had moving parts and as far as I know this vf1 is just the fighter mode so moving parts would be minimal.
  16. For me a guilty pleasure is something you find good for whatever reason, while all your buddies would poke fun of you for liking. Most shows and films I like l, I'm proud I like. But as far as music there are bands I will only play if I have headphones or I'm in my car alone. Mercyful Fate is high on that list. The music isn't the issue, it's King Diamond and his extremely over the top high pitches that sound like cartoon character. I can't even defend how bad it sounds, but when I'm on the freeway I have to crank it up. Of coarse the windows are rolled up and nobody else is around. And who thought Mellisa would be a great name for a dark heavy metal album. I also really like the Christain Death album Only Theatre of Pain. The music is great and the guitarist was from the Adollescents, I may have misspelled that last one, but any way it's got a very dark punk sound with a vocalist that sounds like a stereotypical tranny on a rant. Either way when no one else is around those two are my biggest guilty pleasures.
  17. Is that a discount price? The last time I saw these they were $20.
  18. I hand brush the panel lines on most of my kits. I use a lacquer top coat after the base coat of paint, then after the top coat has dried a couple of days out of paranoia I use oil paints I bought at Michaels arts and craft store. The oil paints seem expensive at first, but they last a long long time when thinned. Just make sure the thinner doesn't dissolve the lacquer. If the topcoat is gloss the panel lines will be smooth, if the top coat is dull the panel lines can giv a grimmy look. After the kit is finished I put a final top coat. If the base coat is lacquer you may not need the first top coat. Just play around with it.
  19. Are those markings the usual hg sticker? I don't see an outline, so I was wondering how those markings are handled. I really love the box art on these. The web exclusive box art is usuall very dull, but these look fantastic. I may get them just as a display for the boxes alone.
  20. Either it's a watch or a kit of a watch or a magic teleportation device or🤐
