  1. Past hour
  2. Even his derpy armor suit had an open chin. I love Batman and all, but there’s some questionable stuff going on
  3. If you didn’t know and only saw this picture.
  4. F Spec-Arm. Only F-Spec has this shoulder design.
  5. Today
  6. Greetings to everyone, I apologize for not posting for a while, and I appreciate everyone who has kept this thread going! @djivaldi7The VF-1AG (Armored GERWALK) is an official design and was released only one time by a garage kit company in extremely limited numbers a long time ago. You can see this thread for more information about the kits I have on display: https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/45289-armored-gerwalk-project-vf-1/#comment-1376974 I'm also happy to announce that a prototype AG amor set, which is a 3D printed model kit has been completed and both finished and unfinished versions will be offered for sale soon. The AG set will be for use with the Bandai 1/100 Hi-Metal R VF-1 Valkyries. We hope to make additional sets available in the future for different scales and manufacturers. You can find more information here: https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/51560-vf-1ag-armored-gerwalk-3d-printed-prototype/ Amazing posts by @vt102, @Convectuoso and others, I'll do my best to share some cool stuff with everyone soon!
  7. Prototype AG Armor Set with opening shoulder missile hatches, cockpit armor opens, turret rotates, gun barrels move independently via balljoints, etc
  8. This amazing 1/100 Armored GERWALK set for the Wave VF-1 model kit was very inspirational! Our finished prototype will look quite similar in painting and details.
  9. Hello, I'm very happy to announce and reveal the prototype pictures for our recently completed prototype. It's been more than (20) years in the making through lots of disappointment and also success I never gave up to make this a reality. I have to give a lot of credit to my good friend @magicsp00n and partner in this endeavor. He and I worked together to come up with the Armored GERWALK (AG) armor set. Tony is very talented and I sincerely appreciate everything! As some of you know the history there was a contest, we started with the Yamato 1/48 in coordination with @fulcy. Later on in 2018 I invested a lot of money to finish the first two completed AG resin kits, which can be seen in this thread: https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/45289-armored-gerwalk-project-vf-1/#comment-1376974 I decided to use the Bandai Hi-Metal R (HMR) 1/100 VF-1 as the underlying base for the AG set for several reasons. The size, the price, the availability, the flexibility, a plethora of VF-1 variants, because Tony & I owned quite a few, our friends love them, most Japanese resin kits especially transformable ones are that scale, plus all of the various 1/100 model kits to display alongside, 3D print size, material usage, shipping costs, and most importantly the great detail and fit of the Bandai HMR GBP-1 armor which has many similarities to the AG set in the legs, arms, forearms, and so forth. I hope to offer additional scale/manufacturer options in the future. We're not yet ready to offer for these for sale, this purpose of this thread is to show off the prototype, and I've commissioned a finished (painted/weathered/decaled) set to share with everyone soon. To be clear we don't plan to make any structural or detail changes to the prototype at this time, we're happy with what we have. We plan to sell unfinished 3D printed boxed armor sets, finished boxed armor sets, and I have been working with someone to make posters, T-shirts, patches and then the box art. I'm hoping my good friend @Anasazi37might be willing to make the waterslide decals since he's the best I've ever met. To be clear, we have no plan to sell the STL files to protect our investment of time and money. Unfortunately as many of you know, there's some dishonest people that pirate other people's work. To be clear, this armor set will work with any HMR VF-1, except of course for two seater variants which I would like to make modifications to another set in the future. Your feedback regarding the following will be appreciated: 1.) Would you consider to buy a set, if so how many, and would you prefer an unfinished set and/or a professionally built limited edition set ready to install keeping in mind the price will be as reasonable as possible? 2.) Taking into consideration the price of a Bandai HMR VF-1J & GBP-1 set upon release to present being $150 to $200 and the fact it's mass produced. What would you consider to be a reasonable price for limited production and never before released set of 3D printed AG armor unfinished with a box, box art, and a finished AG armor set with the same? 3.) I'm considering to offer finished AG armor sets that are customized to the specific VF-1 Valkyrie you will display it with. For example, a Max & Milia blue/red/white scheme and so forth. Please let me know if this interests you. 4.) Lastly we would require a down payment especially for a finished set since the artist has to be paid for the commission, but likewise for a reasonable deposit for 3D printed kits due to material costs, time and to verify the commitment of the customer. Sincerely, Christopher & Tony
  10. Nope, not in the slightest, and it is gradually driving me away from technology more and more each year. My next computer will probably run Linux, and my next phone will probably be a classic audio-only flip phone, because I've absolutely had it with the way all of these systems are evolving to just harvest data about every aspect of people's lives.
  11. The Shadow was up for solicitation a while back (waitlisted), but BBTS has it jacked up to $170 USD from the original price of $112 USD and the crazy NRD.
  12. I'm picturing Tom Selleck doing commercials for them right now.
  13. I'm 4 years out of date, but is there anyone making full set reproductions still? Toyhax has a set, but its missing all the factory applied stickers. Even a digital file i can print on sticky paper myself?
  14. Springer? Although I'm hearing it's a heavy retool of the Siege toy.
  15. Yeah something strange is going on for the SV-51, somehow for Nora's shipping via DHL is astronomically expensive. Whereas for Ivanov's, you still see much lower DHL pricing for some of the stores. However, EMS pricing is much lower than DHL and is much more proportionate to its size over the say, Arcadia VF-19 Kai. One tip on checking shipping rates: You can actually view how much it costs to ship on the item's page. It will auto-calculate based on your log-in credentials. This is how I'm seeing the discrepancy of DHL's vs EMS, and Nora vs Ivanov above. The item shipping estimate will not work if you bundle more than 1 items from the same Mandarake store, because the cart will not show the estimate. However Sahra store, and only Sahra, will be able to do live shipping calculations on the items in your cart, hence why one is able to pay immediately for this store instead of waiting for the manually tallied invoice a day or two later. What I do if I want to estimate shipping upfront for multiple items from other stores, is that I add the same items to cart from Sahra store & then get the live estimate from there. If same items at Sahra is not available, then I try to find something with approximately similar box dimensions and weight. On the Paypal payments, I feel you on the hassle of having to housekeep the automatic payment part for each Mandarake store, and sometimes one may remiss. To prevent Paypal from auto-deducting based on previous Paypal contracts, what I do is that on the Mandarake payment page, there is a checkbox that says something like 'Pay with a different Paypal account', which I will always tick and it will bring you to Paypal log-in page & you can control your payment options from there for that particular payment.
  16. Just transfer your mortgage to Bandai! The own you Lock Stock & Barrel anyway...🤑
  17. I would normally agree, even if it was double the price to ship, I could chalk that up to being in the next size bracket. But FIVE TIMES more?! C'mon. I bought six different yammie/arcadia 1/60 scale valks with shipping at 5400, 5120, 10k, and 24300. I'm sure it's probably down to the box size they had available to put it in, and it's totally whatever DHL told them THAT box would be, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating when I have to commit to purchase before seeing the shipping cost. But I saved some serious coin on the rest of the haul, so I guess I can't complain too much. And tracking says it'll all be here tomorrow/wed., which is super fast from Japan considering I ordered Friday! So I'll soon be too happy to remember it anyway.
  18. Not to derail the "book" thread any further, but hopefully with Disney's involvement....Macross (w/o the original series and film) can get enough "buzz" to help Macross gain enough visibility and interest outside of Japan and gain some ground on decades of lost opportunity....personally, I don't see how the series can "start" with Macross 7 and keep anyone new to the franchise interested to continue on with the rest of the shows....but that's just me being a complete SDFM/DYRL elitist...LOL To me, it would be like introducing Star Wars to a whole new audience, but without the OT....and you start out with the ST to kick off the Star Wars franchise and hope it keeps viewers wanting more of it...
  19. Well, it's better than Ravage, but still pretty underwhelming, especially those stubby non-articulated legs. Looks more like a Pomeranian than a lion. The head, mane and upper body and integrated weapons are a plus, though. If they'd put more of the budget into the figure instead of that superfluous speaker accessory, perhaps they could have figured out how to give him longer legs with at least knees. The G1 toy was more articulated and just looked better, flatness notwithstanding. Modern figs should manifest progression; this is a step backwards IMHO. Too, would it have killed them to apply some grey paint to the other reel? This just looks weird. I desperately hope Dr. Wu does improved versions of all these cassette bots. Well, the reveal I was most looking forward to is out there now. That and the toy itself are a bit disappointing. Still planning on getting Steelpom, but man, I was really hoping for better from an SS86 release- more Eject and less...this.
  20. I guess the inconsistent eye color happens in all mecha. Some gundam are like that too. One color for animation, and another in the kits. 🤪 Between all the inconsistent shades of Klan, theres enough for hand me downs for the other two pixies lol. If you've got something original in mind, looking forward to seeing what you cook up. I don't even remember if those two had any distinct color schemes tbh lol
  21. In short, yes, it was loosely based on the Sea Dart. About 15 years ago, I came up with my own interpretation of what the VF-5 would look like based on the little information we have on it (single engine, based on the Sea-Dart, water landing capable, etc.): https://www.deviantart.com/studiootaking/art/VF-5-Go-Title-Page-136613604 https://www.deviantart.com/studiootaking/art/VF-5-Go-Pages-01-and-02-128200177 https://www.deviantart.com/studiootaking/art/VF-5-Go-Pages-03-and-04-128725540
  22. World's greatest detective but he insists on revealing the lower half of his face. Turning up to crime fighting clean shaven. It's like he wants to get shot in the face.
  23. Nice! Time to get myself a copy. 😬 I think the appeal of the VF-1 is also how it’s based off the F-14 which was probably one of the coolest fighters in the 80s, in no small part to Top Gun. Have always wondered how well the more modern designs from the VF-25 to 31 would resonate with those who’ve never experienced Macross before. Is the appeal of the VF-1 really evergreen or is it colored by our nostalgic lenses? 😂
  24. Of the two, I'd definitely say the SV-51 box is larger and would expect it to have a higher cost to ship. Package size, especially width, costs more than weight.
