    Just got around to watching the new Anaconda movie on Netflix. It’s definitely flawed and I’m glad I didn’t spend the money to see it in theater, but I still had fun with it and due to being a comedy, it’s easier to forgive its shortcomings. It definitely feels more like a sequel to Tropic Thunder than Anaconda, especially since it follows a very similar formula all the way to the ending. Personally I never really cared much for the original Anaconda, so this actually felt like a better movie to me. There’s a few other things to complain about here and there, but it’s a comedy, so I feel like I can forgive it, so overall fun afternoon movie, just don’t think too hard

    nah, that’s Amuro’s with the Fin Funnels for sure. I know the garbage armor one is in the trailer as well, but that one is a different color and doesn’t seem to have those funnels

    Yeah, too many other newer remakes tend to look overly cg, while this has a quality look to the trailer that is totally missing from a lot of the newer anime.

    The one in the trailer has the fin funnels like in the CCA movie. So I’m still guessing a flashback triggered by the production type that gets revealed under all that ugly garbage around it.

    So, Hasegawa's N-Ger came in a box identical in size to their movie Q-Rau... ...not nearly as wasteful as the oversized packaging for their TV Q-Rau. Only 30% of the N-Ger's box is empty space. 😝

    Wow the box is small, and the toy is lighter than expected. Love all the details though, this is a childhood dream come through.

    It is just wild seeing all of these older properties popping up, and suddenly filling the market with what feels like ancient designs and artwork re-rendered in HD. Seriously, I am all for this in every way.

    I was hoping that the fact that they are willing to pop a new kit out with a part commonality rate as low as 50% would mean there is hope that the Kronos may get the same treatment from the Siegfried line, and similarly, that the Lucifer would have a chance of being made because it too is about 50% common with the Durandal/Messiah. Admittedly, it's probably a small chance, but I can dream!

    I've always really liked Clamp's style with Rayearth, and while it has been a few years, I swear some of those shots are just straight-up "we traced the comic page, then made it move". And I mean that in the best possible way. Also, I am hoping that this gets wide viewing, and I get to watch a whole new generation flip their tables when the heroes save Cephiro!

    Tbc, the minifigs aren't what I truly care about - I really would love a large-scale Helicarrier display to pose my micro-build robots on. I love the Helicarrier, to the point that I suspect it's why I find battleships so cool in mecha.

    Gotta be a real good market for KO minifigs now; especially of ones exclusive to sets.

    I've wanted a redo of the original UCS Helicarrier for years, and now that we have it.... it's not really that much better, and it's $100 more expensive. Man. Man. I could probably swing this if it was $300, but $400 is just... more than is really worth it to me, even with those amazing minifigs.

    I finished the Orange Cat Blaster. I took the lazy route and didn't paint the white parts. The surface finish was so good, I couldn't beat that with paint. But the red parts got a candy coat treatment and it really elevates the overall appearance IMO. I chose a pale gold instead of the gaudy yellow for the decorations. The size is quite good: I thought the lighting didn't work at first, but you have to connect all of the LEDs first, and there's a "power-up" mode that activates them in sequence and chages their colors. Still have to figure out how the magnetic switch works properly.
