  1. Past hour
  2. I've seen sloppier AI but its stupid how easy they make it tho.
  3. Getting close to done now. Still have the greebles and landing gear to make, but think it's coming along pretty well. Debating whether to make the rear hatch functional or not. Almost no references for the back of the thing, so I'd have to make it up for the most part, the one scene in the series that shows it doesn't actually match up to the model (Freyja leaps from a very bare bones interior set, her body blocks any view of the shuttle for several seconds, then an out of focus, far off version with no details drifts by in the distance). Also noted that the upper and lower hatches both open out, oddly enough, instead of the more sensible lower becoming a ramp and upper folding inwards like a C-130 hatch. Oh well, worrry about that when I get to it.
  4. The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter dropped a new episode today. So... um... Crunchyroll's list of applicable genres and short description of the series is missing a very critical detail. Their series page lists The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter in the Fantasy, Slice-of-Life, and Romance genres with a 14+ content advisory for "suggestive dialogue". The actual genre this series belongs to is Boys Love, as protagonist Seiichiro found out "the hard way" in this week's episode. 😅 I didn't look the series up on Wikipedia before starting it, and nothing in the entire first episode gives any hint that it's anything other than an isekai fantasy slice-of-life title taking a couple shots at Japan's toxic work culture. The first (and only!) warning of where things were headed was when the protagonist gets sick from drinking too many of the potions that are this world's equivalent of energy shots and, after being rushed away for treatment, [...] Once that's over, it's right back to firing shots across the bow of Japan's office culture like nothing happened with the knight order's doctor being absolutely horrified by Seiichiro's overall poor health, lack of sleep, and atrociously unhealthy vegetables-only diet. The rest of the episode is the knight commander borderline bullying Seiichiro into abandoning a whole array of ingrained toxic corporate culture habits like constant overtime, excessive use of stimulants, skipping meals and poor diet, taking work home after work hours, and so on... which sounds distressingly like a bunch of the conversations I've had to have with contract staffers at my day job. 😕 Still, I'll ship it. Probably the first human kindness that the poor bloke's felt since graduating college and entering the workforce. Honestly, I'm having a real problem writing this because 90% of the turns-of-phrase I want to use to describe how unexpected that was sound like double entendre in context now. 😅 Still an interesting series... the adult content was frankly unnecessary and adds nothing to the story.
  5. Before I click on that, yes.
  6. You’re welcome!
  7. Today
  8. Oh i didnt know this topic existed. Mines kind of obvious.. its me in approximately 1985 or 1986. With my first real Valkyrie. under the Christmas Tree. I was lucky enough to live in California on Edwards AFB near Palmdale, and there was a little Grocery store called 'Fuji Oriental Market' that also sold .. valkyries? So yea. My parents were awesome. The 'Robo-Strux' behind me was an american rebranding of ZOIDS as well. I cannot tell from the pic but it was either the Pterodactyl or the godzilla one. I got both that year. Of course. The Valkyrie was the star of the show and i still have it.
  9. Be careful with the hands. The tail fin sliced one of my Legioss' thumbs clean off when transforming to fighter mode. And it was easy to do. There's barely enough room inside the forearm, plenty of ways to orient the hand incorrectly, and nothing protecting the hands from the tailfin, and you have to use force to squeeze everything into place. I'm shocked more people haven't experienced it. Luckily I got a replacement hand.
  10. Damn you, Mog! I never thought of the Legioss/Tread connection rod that way, but now the sexual innuendo is inescapable. 😳
  11. ASUS reportedly says RTX 5070 Ti is no longer being produced, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB to follow Looks like the 9070XT will be the this year's price-performance buy/mid-range king. 'Glad I picked up one before Christmas.
  12. Before I click on that, is it AI slop?
  13. “Hey Houquet-girl! Why don’t you back that Legioss up on this and hook up with me?” 🤪
  14. +1 I actually like the color scheme, especially the darker green, and I like the AWACS aspect. The lance makes little sense, and the canards are ridiculously too big, but I could live with them. I don't care for the aft wing beavertails- they just don't look good and add nothing to the other two modes. Moreover, while I dig forward swept wings, these seem like they're in the way in Soldier mode. It'd be cool if, like the Sentinel, they were on armatures that let them swing back a piece. For now, I'm skipping both releases, although the Omega appeals to me more at this point. I am curious to see what other variants they roll out in the future. I own neither an Iota nor a Zeta version of the Legioss, so perhaps I'll snap up one of those when they're available. While I'm in for a Pose+ Eta, which looks like it's also being geared towards playability, it's a huge toy with an equitable price tag and I think it'd be nice to have a smaller, less wallet-killing yet playable Legioss toy to mess about with. It's funny- we've been starved for Legioss toys for decades, and now suddenly we have three options for good, to really good versions of it. Got up the courage to transform my Sentinel Eta last night with the help of @jenius' guide. (Thank you!) Mine's a first edition, with all the issues thereof. I had some trouble trying to get the legs to slide fully forward into the chest cavity for fighter, but eventually I got it, barely. It was resistant. The shoulders are a PITA to snap into position- they just do not want to align or snap in very easily. I managed it, but not without a lot of finagling and a touch of cussing. Gotta admit, though, she's a beautiful bird once you've expended the labor of getting there. I'm usually a fan of realism when it comes to aircraft, hence Macross' appeal, but I've always loved the look of the Legioss- it's just a great sci-fi plane design. I'm so glad we have some good toy options now.
  15. My name is also my real name but it's in different translation i.e Japanese. My profile picture is PLAAF Female Pilot profile picture cropped from War Thunder the game

  17. Yeah! Well, the fine molds did it better, but that one is still unbuild in my basement. Loved the GWH one though. It felt rewarding to build it. And thanks - I tried to emulate the Macross Zero look onto this one. Edit: rinse and repeat …
  18. Looking forward to this.
  19. That's not Oshii's style; he's the filmmaker most likely to embrace the latest technological innovations. I'm sure he'd prefer it was live-action.
  20. I always liked the ending images from Outlaw Star. They had really nothing to do with the show, but they sorta reminded me a lot of 70’s and earlier sci fi concept art that kinda got the imagination rolling.just a few of the pics from the end of the show
  21. So apparently we are getting a new OVA.... The Gray Witch! (Die Graue Hexe) 🥶 Always love it when the Japanese use German names. 🤣 A new animation of "Armored Trooper Votoms," one of the representative works of the "Sunrise brand," will be produced to commemorate Sunrise's 50th anniversary and will be released in 2026. It is a powerful collaboration with director Mamoru Oshii, animation produced by Sunrise, and production cooperation by Production IG. Title: Armored Trooper Votoms : The Grey Witch Director: Mamoru Oshii Production: Sunrise Production Cooperation: Production IG Official website: https://votoms-gh.com Official X: https://x.com/votoms_gh Revealed as part of the celebrations of animation studio Sunrise's 50th anniversary, a new anime for the classic mecha series Armored Trooper VOTOMS was announced today, scheduled to release in 2026. Mamoru Oshii will direct the new anime, entitled Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Die Graue Hexe (translated as “The Gray Witch”), which features animation production by Sunrise with cooperation by Production I.G. An official websiteOpens in a new tab and a teaser video were published for the newly announced anime. No additional details about the new anime were revealed at the time of reporting. The original Armored Trooper VOTOMS is a “real robot” mecha series directed by Ryosuke Takahashi and animated by Sunrise which originally broadcast in Japan for 52 episodes from 1983 to 1984, inspiring numerous spin-offs and sequels over the years. Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Die Graue Hexe marks the first completely new work for Armored Trooper VOTOMS in 15 years. The original Armored Trooper VOTOMS series follows Chirico Cuvie, a young soldier who is betrayed by his comrades after he accidentally discovers a secret weapon during an unauthorized, top-secret mission, forcing him to become a fugitive during a period of intergalactic war. Looks interesting! 👍🏻 More Hi-Metal R Votoms....🤗
  22. Bandai is notorious for milking molds, I have no doubt this will be coming soon
  23. Yeah, kinda wish they’d go back to old school animation instead of cg but I’ll wait to see more
  24. Looks pretty cool.
