General 1/18 Scale Figure and Toy Thread

They deserve better than this -
I see that. Definitely the short bus crew there. But there’s a certain charm to them as well and they make me feel like I could accomplish anything since even they became Tomcat pilots.

Like I said, not a perfect movie, but great fun with some popcorn and yeah, those items definitely would’ve come in handy.

I'm so bummed out over the VF-17S I paid full price for at HLJ that I went back into modern airplane modelling and bought a 1/48 Tamiya F-14D and.... omg it's nice to support a company that cares about its customers

I'm not necessarily inclined to argue. I think Takara (and/or Hasbro, by extension) are at their best making when making mass-market toys. Like, yeah, they have their flaws like limited articulation, in some areas, limited paint, or hollow spots, and some outright misses *cough Astrotrain*, but generally you're not mad about it because they're chunky, solid toys you can mess around with and you're usually not paying more than $60 (save for the annual Titans and Commanders, or the odd Haslab). But it's a different story when you're paying a premium for something ostensibly collector-focused. I mean, I'd have never paid $350 for MP-36, but I didn't have any problems paying that for Soul of Chogokin Dairugger/Vehicle Voltron. Still, for your sake, I hope you're happy with Predaking. I'm out, though, he's just too small for my collection. Same.- 18275 replies

@slideVery cool. Excited to see more. While I work on the L-Gaim MK-2 I decided to crack into the Deculture. What a simple smart kit. I’m going with the Alaska version. 💚 The MK-2 is a 1/100 and here it is next to the Volks IMS 1/100. It’s slightly smaller but will look good next to the FSS builds in my collection. Also the binders in the kit have a beautiful clear blue. They will look even better once I put silver behind them.

We watched ANACONDA last night too, with ZERO expectations, I actually found myself enjoying it a lot. It's a fun movie especially if you have popcorn or some ice cream handy. @Big s

Okay, now I am seriously jealous. What software are you using for your virtual wind tunnel? And, more importantly, what's the drag coefficient?

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention that I blocked the visor with black tape and added eyes cut from leftover metallic gundam stickers. Adds much expression IMO.

Like I said it’s not perfect and definitely flawed and not really theater worthy, but if you got a lazy afternoon and some popcorn, it’s a fun watch on the couch. Sometimes it’s good to just have a little chuckle here and there and this movie delivers the little chuckles and a couple big laughs.

I swear I'd like to understand the mentality behind whoever's in charge at HG. Nothing against those who liked the game, but it seems like it's just going to be a skin for the game. 22 years since Invasion (bad because it was made with a Coke and a pastry) and what does she do? Collab with a mobile combat game. I think if she allowed it, the fans would make something similar to Ace Combat on the 3DS, or even better.

I am looking forward to receiving mine. Partially because I love the design and I adore mecha with mechanical lion faces on their chests (not a big fan of Daltanious) and partially because I am curious if Takara can produce a high end collectible. I heard so many good things about AM Rodimus but looking at some pictures I am shocked how bad the paint application and molded some pieces appear to be compared to the praise the piece was receiving. It seems to be in par with what Takara is usually putting out (just more of it in terms of paint application) but can’t hold a candle to the K3 one. Now I am wondering if all the Transformers fans a gushing over the Rodimus because they have no frame of reference for high quality collectibles or because it is really an exceptional toy. I am aware that this might sound "elitist" or me discrediting Takara. However, I want to ensure you that I love many of the Transformers toys I bought in the past but in their collector focused lines their hit to miss ratio is higher than in other, comparable toy lines. Takara is very good at engineering fun puzzle-former toys but in manufacturing quality their output is usually lacking.- 18275 replies

Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling ended I personally enjoyed it. -
There is no scale under the VF-25, so I was under the impression it would be a 1/48 VF-25. that would explode the community.
