    Captain's Log: Thursday, May 22nd, 2025 You wouldn't think so by looking at the pics of this latest update, but the masters are close to complete! Because I opted to do more fabrication and fewer beauty shots, this update will be shorter than usual. Pics 64-67 show the grueling puttying process I use to mate two surfaces together perfectly, and the fairing on the bottom of the missile pods has been a tough subject, but alas, the worst is done! Once all the puttied parts are sanded, I reckon I will have about a week's worth of super-detailing, and then the masters will be done! Pic 68 shows the first step in the detailing process (in this case the thruster nozzle) and I was just getting warmed-up!     I think is a bit soon to get a proper review. Most of the toy reviewers in YT that get their hands on a Macross toy just for the likes just make a unboxing with some video takes with the birds displayed on a stand. It is going to take some time to get a review from some one like Wotafa or Jenius that do actually detailed reviews.

    UPDATE: One of the things I've been working on quietly for some time now- The big, 22-inch "cutaway" TOS E; this will be the companion piece to my 1/537 Refit E. Or it will be, when I can find a replacement Bussard endcap to match the one single-piece one I have. Tried Michaels, Hobby Lobby and others, but no dice. And with shipping and online prices going up (and our income getting axed recently!), several of my projects got put on hold indefinitely. Stay tuned...

    Neat! Looking at the image closely, it appears that the 1J's visor constitutes the "A", and the chin makes up the "T" to spell out MAT vertically. Fantastic post, and grats on completion of the series! Thanks for sharing them here.

    I'm still trying to track down anyone still making 1/55 VF-1 sets besides Toyhax. Their sets are still missing the factory stickers, and no signs of offering sets for different pilots or styles.

    The Gyan hasn't actually changed that much... they've stylized it a bit, but it looks like all they really did was round off the sharp corners on the MS-15B Gyan from [i]Twilight of Zeon[/i], lose the skirt, and sweep back the top of the conical head. It still has a lot of the original Gyan's odder design choics like the flared ankles, the scuba tank-style backpack, etc. It even has a similarly-designed spear and shield. Which is nice, IMO the 15B is probably the best looking version on the Gyan. This looks like it could be out of an episode of [i]Gundam Evolve[/i] instead of the incredibly overdesigned hot nonsense going on with the Gundams and Zakus that just look like someone said "How busy can we make this, visually?". Kind of says a lot that that this is one of the show's best looking designs thus far, and it also seems to be one of the ones their designer screwed with the least.

    Might have to pick that up. I've noticed that, despite having like eight different streaming services, they seem to be pushing original and more recent content (no matter how banal) over older quality content. I just checked, can't steam Knight Rider. And this is less than a week after I was looking for Battlestar Galactica and finishing that I couldn't stream it, either.

    Looks fun for sure, but I feel like that’s the wrong song for this movie title. Maybe Jane’s Addiction might have a song that fits that title just a bit better. I could be wrong though

    I’d imagine that it’s more than a couple of weeks. They had enough time to rise all the way to the top and they do kinda imply that there were more battles that weren’t shown. Maybe it’s just one a week type of event, not sure on the regularity. But even if it was only a short time, you gotta remember that these are only teenage girls and emotions hit fast and irrationally. As far as the robbery, she had found out that the leader of her clan was gonna sell friend out and get rid of the Gundam, which basically is the key to her whole life plan. They’ve shown she had no real interest in the standard life and had a dream of going to earth. I think she felt that they were gonna basically take her entire life away along with the only thing that could allow her to change her life. And not only that, but she probably feels that most if not all of that money should be hers anyway since she’s been the one convincing Shuji to go with her and without her gundam that they’d have gotten nowhere anyway. There’s also the Kira Kira addiction going on. That stuff is more addictive than heroine. It can cause people to make irrational decisions, people to risk their careers and mothers to abandon their children just to fill that high. And then there’s the risk of overdose that is totally destructive to all around. Kira Kira is a hell of a drug
