  2. I would appreciate it if Medicom would release some figures (especially the ones I have on preorder) instead of constantly announcing new product and reissues! *grumble grumble grumble* That said I probably want the blue Venom.
  3. Some more Plamax BTS, this time for the missile containers.

    Arcadia VF-5000G

    Those are pure awesomeness
  5. Thank you to everyone who has kept this thread going, and I hope everyone is doing well. You guys have some amazing model kits in your collection! More than 25 years ago, Jung pioneered the idea to take a 1/55 VF-1S toy and turn them into a painted model kit complete with waterslide decals and customization. Latest update on my Macross Bandai "Jung" 1/55 VF-1S Roy Strike Valkyrie. Being faithfully and patiently restored by my friend Jose Gonzalez, who is also making several improvements! This is a collaboration between us, but his talents get due credit. But the best part, is that both Valkyries (Roy & Hikaru) will once again be completely transformable! It'll be more of a "Jose" custom now, with many upgrades like airbrushed black stripes instead of decals. 😉 But with the base and inspiration from Jung, who was a pioneer toy/model mashup builder. Going back more than 25 years ago on the Macross World forums. Jung's custom Valkyries are extremely limited in numbers and sold for a pretty penny! I own (5) Jung Valkyries, they're a special part of my collection. Jose is also working on my Macross Bandai "Jung" 1/55 VF-1S Hikaru Strike Valkyrie as well. I hope to share pictures of it soon. (Reason for Restoration: 25+ years since purchase, so there was some discoloration, decal damage, the original donor Jetfires used by Jung weren't great, brittle plastic, they couldn't transform due to Jung using hot glue/super glue, and various other problems caused by a friend.)

Hello my friend, I hope you're doing well! I'm happy we worked something out so both of us have this kit. I'm especially glad you got the blue version and I have the white one. Honestly, you and I are just about the only people in the world who build these Experten kits. Let alone being lucky to own one, since they're so rare. So, besides you, me, Tom (Chicago) and Jonathan (Canada) no one really has any experience transforming them. But with that said, Experten does the 3D designs and sells a few to cover their costs. But, sometimes their Macross creations become toys. So, the way you transform the Experten kits, should be the exact way the 1/60 toy is done. Have you tried watching and pausing a YouTube transformation guide for this particular Valkyrie?
  7. I still have an unfinished resin kit construction of a YF-22 battroid. I had always thought that the aftermarket gundam hands were not quite the right ones for it. I will check these out when they hit the market and hopefully finally get around to finishing the build I started 13 years ago. LOL!
  8. I've been looking forward to the Arcadia release, but if it doesn't happen. I'm content to own two transformable Experten 1/100 with and without the Super Booster as well as the Studio Half Eye version. Although my personal favorite is my extremely rare Experten 1/72 VF-5000G with Super Booster perfect transformable and sold at a single Japanese Winder Festival. I'm hoping to have it built and put on display soon. Not many people even know these toys even exist, let alone own all the versions. A sturdy 1/60 full variable from Arcadia will be awesome though
  9. It has been a while folks... The two sketches shown above was part of a dozen sketches that were being auctioned off at one point on Yahoo Japan roughly 8 or 9 years ago for a price that I recall was US$50K plus. I tried contacting the seller to see if the set could be broken up and sold but received a negative reply. It seems like someone is indeed selling them piece by piece.

  11. That is looking really good for a KISS build. (Keep I Simple Stupid) Goes to show how great that old kit still is, fresh from the box.

  13. Looks great! Just a few added details makes such a difference.
  14. https://gamerant.com/clair-obscur-expedition-33-gen-ai-indie-game-awards-2025/ Okay, now they can create a category for games that uses AI.
  15. Yeah; I surmised that as well. The ol' "let's wow'em with what we can pull off" thing. That sounds like a not-too bad opening to a Macross RPG campaign: a colony fleet comes across a planet whose moon has a perfectly circular orbit and ancient Protoculture ruins on the moon's surface. The commander decides to investigate this and sens the players in their valks to take a look...
  16. Looks great! @Urashiman enjoy this time together! My son and i have built many HG Gundam kits together, since he was a wee lad. But it's difficult to get his ass to the workbench, now that he's 13 and more of a Gamer
  17. This is how far we got today. note: no airbrush use. Only panel line color, permanent marker for some details and the plamax stickers. It kinda looks cool so far. It is crazy just how much panel lines can make a kit make look so much better.
  18. You're not wrong! The Gunstar is a lovely design. What's really cool about it is that it was rendered entirely in CG, as were many space shots in that film, giving it an otherworldly yet oddly realistic look that early CG had. I've not seen The Last starfighter in some time, but I remember being enthralled by it when I saw it so many years ago. Not sure if it has held up, especially with all the 80s cheesiness, but the premise was fantastic as were so many of the themes within. I was also enthralled with Centauri's transforming space car. An oldy but goody. I wasn't familiar at all with this. I've always like insectile features transposed to mechanical vehicles and mecha, so I can understand the allure of the carrier ship. Pretty neat history, especially the involvement of two of Rock's most notable guitarists. Speaking of insectile inspirations, I'm reminded of the Jigabachi helicopter from GitS: Stand Alone Complex. I bought a model of it some years ago and have yet to build it. It's a neat design, though.
