  2. Thank you, appreciate the links. Hmmn, looks like the valk itself is identical, no improvement to the fitment of parts or crispness of the deco. (which is inferior to the original releases)
  3. I just got back from the latest Mission Impossible movie. Decent film, anyone that likes the series will enjoy this one. The price for tickets though, $25 a ticket for a matinee. OW! That is up about $10 from the last time I went to a movie at a theater (granted, five years ago but still)
  4. Eh... the obvious counterargument there is Borderlands. That too was an adaptation of a popular video game with a barely-there plot beloved for its visual aesthetic and gameplay in the hands of a respected production company with a somewhat uneven track record and an average (for an action movie) budget of about $113M. It should have been able to break even and turn a profit without breaking a sweat as long as it didn't lose the fans. A couple questionable creative decisions and dubious casting choices later... and the studio found itself $80M in the red as the not-so-proud owner of the third biggest box office bomb of 2024.
  5. Michael MJD was testing an old Windows CE Netbook, and it came with that picture. So unexpected.
  6. here are the direct links to his tweets if u dont have a twitter-account or alternate reader. you will need to enable web-translator extension if you have one: pics: https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926141934927515734 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926143189037039761 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926143635071893674 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926143930376024492 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926144831132192829 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926147175320363246 vids: https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926146693541564536 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926146696657994082 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926146699765936281
  7. Should run fine even on Switch. I have the graphics settings maxed and I'm still getting 60fps at 1080p on the 17w setting on my ROG Ally X. Might even have better FPS but lately I'd been playing more demanding games and I set the Ally's refresh rate to 60hz.
  8. On the Su-35 (I thought the vf-11 was based on it) those types of lines are visisble
  9. Yeah, I can't see it either. Is it like a members-only tweet?
  10. Maybe I’m not seeing it in the Twitter post. But I wish it had more information about improvements.
  11. Found the problem. Was one of these missing: d3dxof.dll , dmcompos.dll , dmloader.dll, dmscript.dll , dx8vb.dll - no idea which it was but that was the last bunch I installed that were missing. I'd put my money on `dx8vb.dll` though.
  12. Just curious.... I know Ted E. wasn't the only person who purchased this kit! Is there anyone else who may have completed theirs? I would love to see!
  13. But they will probably still show up for the film more than likely in just enough numbers to get a profit. The budget will probably also be fairly low in comparison to other studios and even though I feel that they are kinda 50/50 on their good to bad ratio, A24 has built up a sorta fandom all of its own and more than likely will make up the majority of the ticket sales. It may not be as big a thing as Minecraft or Super Mario, but it probably won’t need to be
  14. HeppokoSamurai posted lots of pics and vids of the revival-version on his twitter-page: https://twitter.com/simsim5479/ sample: edit: here are the direct links to his tweets if u dont have a twitter-account or alternate reader. you will need to enable web-translator extension if you have one: pics: https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926141934927515734 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926143189037039761 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926143635071893674 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926143930376024492 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926144831132192829 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926147175320363246 vids: https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926146693541564536 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926146696657994082 https://x.com/simsim5479/status/1926146699765936281
  15. Some parts of that story are likely too unremarkable/mundane/boring to bother putting into a series too. For instance, the theft of the shuttle is probably a nonevent. Rebels steal Imperial shuttles so often in Star Wars shows that how easily and how often they're stolen has become a bit of an in-story running joke across multiple series. "How is it the Empire lets us keep stealing these things?" - Kanan Jarrus
  16. MMC are the undisputed masters of all-in-one engineering. This thing is a triumph of form and function. I've always liked emergency vehicle Transformers, but for some reason, the Protectobots have never really been on my radar. I don't believe I own any versions of them at all in my collection, which is rather ironic considering I now own two versions of the Combaticons with plans to buy all the upcoming Hasbro Legacy figures for a third Bruticus. Granted, Bruticus is my favorite combiner, but given my aforementioned interest in emergency vehicles, I find it odd myself that I don't own some version of the Protectobots at this point. In the interest of trying to preserve what little space I have left for display, I passed, oh so reluctantly, on MMC's Bruticus as I'll now pass on these. I appreciate the achievement they represent, however, and I vehemently wish one of the 3P legends makers would take so ambitious a course with their versions. I recently bought Magic Square's Combaticon Team and they didn't disappoint, although they rely, as most TF combiners do, on a handful of partsforming bits to complete the gestalt. Perhaps I'll invest in their Protectobots, should they get around to producing them. Too, I'll likely get the Legacy versions as well, again, should Hasbro choose to do them. MMC have long been my favorite 3P company, as I own more toys from them than any other third party, at least in the MP scale. I haven't counted, but it's a toss-up between Magic Square and Newage for most 3P toys in my collection at this point, but I digress. Anyway, MMC have been bringing an interesting approach to Transformers for years and they just continue to raise the bar with their engineering and thoughtful approach to both form and function. They make beautiful toys, including what is IMHO the best take on Arcee yet rendered in plastic. Even though I pass on many of their products, having largely stopped collecting MP scale (always room for more cassettes though!), I continue to be amazed at their output.
  17. Ah, yeah... I'm one of those people. I think we talked a brief bit about it during SDCon back before the COVID lockdowns. My translation of the Special Edition book is about 80% complete. I'd hoped to be done with it inside of a year, but free time became a rather scarce commodity a few weeks after that first lockdown and hasn't really recovered. 😅
  18. I just got the VF-25S revival Ozma figure from Amazon and the left ankle quite easily collapses. Does anyone know how to fix this?
  19. Unless the timeline has been changed there are 3 years between Episodes IV & V. Then a 1/2 year between V & VI. You could cover the 2nd Death Star, show how they captured the Imperial Shuttle, killed those Bothans, the move from Yavin to Hoth. They covered the years leading up to Yavin and a few years after Endor. The movies only covered the big battles. You still tell stories about smaller skirmishes in the war. I'm 100% sure all of it has been covered in some novel or comic book, but live action Star Wars is the most interesting when the good guys are the underdogs.
  20. @woodsider Thanks. I’m having a blast. These are the next two on the bench.
  21. I've heard multiple people say they've done or are working on translating the books (overheard at various cons) I wonder what became of those projects. Maybe they are done and the answer is a few google searches away?
  22. Looks awesome! Keep building those old kits!
  23. I've only ever seen copies of Special Edition and Vol.4 in person. I've managed to score a couple copies of Special Edition over the years on YJA and Mandarake and so on. Just a fantastic book, IMO. You can really feel the team's love for the series in the massive attention to detail they put into it.
