    As a Geewunner who was less than impressed with these toys back when they were new, I'm always at a loss to understand their appeal when we now have vastly improved versions of them at virtually every scale. I guess nostalgia is a primary driver, but from my POV, I'd rather have a modern version with full articulation over the old 80s bricks. Except for the cassettes, which remain pretty cool, for the most part. I haven't been too impressed with the WFC Siege/Kingdom, Legacy, SS86 scaled versions, except, ironically, Eject, the best of the smaller scaled cassettes. I keep hoping Dr. Wu will eventually produce improved versions of all the main character cassettes, as Takara's takes have been less than lackluster. Well, SS86 Rumble/Frenzy was almost excellent except for the lack of elbows- how hard would it have been to split the arm and give one half a ball joint and the other a socket? So close to good, but not. SS86 Steeljaw looks like a Pomeranian, Ravage is severely compromised, the WFC Condors are ok except for the oddly shaped weapon packs, all three of the SS86 Soundwave cassettes look like steps backward in design. If you're a cassette fan like me, there's much to be desired with Has/Tak's modern takes.

    Yeah, the thing is shaky from the very start and the techs are hovering very closely to it, so yes, it does appear that they were expecting failure more than success. Given the brutal and face-saving nature of the Soviet govt, I do feel concern for the folks who worked on this, as it's a very public embarrassment, and they likely will pay heavy penalties for it. And while we've seen the maturation of this technology from Japan, China, and US companies, it's ultimately not easy and they are likely working with small budgets, stolen hardware/software, minimal resources, and lots of unwelcome oversight and pressure. That said, it was pretty funny on first viewing. I just showed it to my wife, but with these thoughts in mind, it was a bit more sobering.

    The most interesting bit of that robotic fail is the handlers seemed to be VERY much expecting it to happen. Makes me thing corporate demanded a demo for some reason when the techs said it was not ready yet.

    Only problem with that is Forky did not exist then but is in the teaser trailer, Woody is also missing his Sherriff's badge. A teaser trailer often has little inaccuracies like that however.

    Another Glider video was uploaded a few days ago. I love the flying machines in Valley of the Wind so always happy to see a really really close recreation of one.

    that was a killer deal. Lot of great Best Buy open box deals the past week as well. (Best Buy raised back up the prices yesterday) a scar 18 rtx 5090 for $2500, lowest price i've ever seen but still too much for a laptop. And they had a G18 with a 5080 for $1850. With Microcenter and bestbuy, this past week was probably the best we're going to get for the holidays for the high ends pc and laptops. maybe be some decent mid tier laptops with rtx 5070's can drop below 1000-1100 before or on black friday.

    Appreciate the feedback, all! And, I agree with the observations that the 24 head seems to be narrower. It seems the helmet design is getting the most votes, and after trying a few more things I think I'm in agreement. The Zentradi head is a bit too bug-like for a Valk, but when I combine it with the helmet, I think I tick all the boxes. The helmet gives me the heavier/armor look I had in mind, the NJ eye gives it some distinction from the 25 and 31, and the combo still (mostly) fits the profile seen in the art. I'm stitching things together now and working on propotions, and I still need to add the sensor bubbles to the top, but I think this looks like a winner (at least for now). Added bonus: it's both a cyclops AND a visor, since it has the Zentradi squint! 😉

    My recommendation is if you are in the market for a new GPU, BUY NOW. If the news that Nvidia is delaying the RTX 50 Supers till Q3 2026, the likelihood is the prices on those cards will go up. GDDR7 production will likely take a hit with production shifting to normal RAM chips. The ripple effect of RAM and NAND chips seeing price and production increases means other related components will see price increases as their supply reduces. Current GPU supplies will likely dwindle as restocks take longer to fulfill.

    I was very curious, during the movie, to try and figure out the timeline this story falls into. I couldn't help but wonder if it was right before Aliens Earth.
